President Buhari has ordered the Attorney General of the Federation to investigate the involvement of any top government official accused of any wrong-doing. this was made known by his special adviser on media, ssc and publicity Mr Garba Shehu.

President Buhari went further to say that If any top government official is accused of any wrong-doing or involved in any form of corrupt dealings will not escape prosecution.

There is no doubt that corruption has remained a central defining theme of the Buhari administration since its inception in May of 2015. President Buhari, prior to his inauguration as President, once stated, “So the point I want to make here is that the problem of Nigeria is not ethnic or religious, it is corruption…..we should try to kill corruption before corruption kills Nigeria…..corruption is fast becoming a culture and to try to caution people is not an easy task but it must be done.”

Eight people today lost their lives in a ghastly accident at the Akinfosile junction of the Ore-Lagos Expressway.

The accident involved a 18 seater commercial bus and a dangote truck carrying cement.

While nobody was ready to offer explanation for the cause of the accident as the mood was that of grief, officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) rushed the surviving ones to the hospital.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday marked his 74th birthday anniversary with a special birthday parade and inspection of the Guard of Honour mounted by the Nigerian Army.

The event took place at the fore-court of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Guard Brigade, headed by the Commander, Brigade of Guards, Musa Yusuf, also performed a Special Birthday Silent Drills, accompanied with special military birthday song in honour of the president.

President Buhari also cut a birthday cake and released 74 pigeons from a cage as part of the activities marking the anniversary.

A car thief was caught Friday 2 december at Ojota, he stole a car key, phones and money worth 70,000. All the items were recovered except the money because he wasn't arrested on the scene but was suspected after he left the scene, caught and was taken to his house where all the stolen items were recovered except the money. He is still at Ogudu Area H.

President Muhammadu Buhari has put an end to the issue of Biafra insisting that the country will not break-up.


Buhari’s administration has witnessed resurgence in the agitation for an independent Biafra state but the president has responded to the call saying the country was better an one.

President Buhari promised to extend projects to south east In a statement by Garba Shehu who is the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Buhari was quoted as saying focus should be on development.

The president made this comment on Thursday, December 1 while at a meeting with the Council of South-East Traditional Rulers at the State House. He said: “The question of having another country out of Nigeria is going to be very difficult. From 1914, we have more than 200 cultures living with one another.

God had endowed this country with natural resources and talented people. We should concentrate on these and be very productive.” President Buhari promised that the south-east will also benefit from the new railway architecture being put in place by his administration.

On the issue of having more Igbos in the key positions in the country, Buhari said he was “very conscious of the sensitivities of the South East” which was why four of the five key cabinets were occupied from people from the region.

The president urged the Igbo elders to urge the people in the region to give his administration a chance and also applauded the good work of the ministers from the region in the federal government, saying that they are doing very well for the country.

President Buhari assured that the issue of cattle rustling and kidnapping would be his next focus as “we have managed to calm down the North-East.” On the issue of corruption, President Buhari noted that the judiciary needs cleansing as some trial dated back to when Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was president. READ ALSO: Nnamdi Kanu to remain in custody “We are asking the judiciary to clean itself. Nigerians are tired of waiting.

They want some actions.” His Royal Majesty, Eze (Dr) Eberechi N. Dick (JP) who is the chairman of the South East Council of Traditional Rulers made requests for roads other projects, He also assured the president of their continued support for his administration.

Mrs Monica Agaku, a 75-year old woman who was kidnapped in Tse Agbaragba village in Konshisha Local Government of Benue State, has been released. Mrs Agaku was abducted on Thursday, November 17th, by unknown gunmen, who stormed her house at about 1am and forcefully took her away. According to Benue.com, the elderly woman was released in the early hours of Tuesday, November 22.

Cyril Efobi, a Nigerian man who works as a taxi driver in North Carolina US, was shot dead by an unknown gunman on November 8th.

Cyril who moved from Nigeria to the US over 30 years ago, had on the day he was killed, closed early in the evening in order to go home and watch the US presidential election. After exchanging banters with some colleagues, he packed up his laptop and stepped out of the office. A few minutes later, one of his colleagues heard gunshots outside the building.
The police was called in and Cyril's body was found lying just by the door. He had died from gunshot wounds. He was 56. The police is yet to make any arrest. The surveillance camera however caught the alleged gunman during and after the attack.

Cyril moved from Nigeria to Raleigh about 30 years ago to further his education. A graduate of Shaw University, Cyril made Raleigh his permanent home after his studies. Members of the Nigerian community say he had no wife or children and that he lived alone. A candle light was held recently for him.

Plans are on to send his body back to Nigeria for burial.
