Pls what is the validity of the medicals? anathemiamia: Did my medical since last year because I thought my dummy lawyer would apply by November. If it's GSS do medical before applying. If it's not GSS, do medical on their request. It's important because of how long approval takes for non GSS. So if you do it too early, you might have to do another one because it may expire before your application is approved and travel |

Hello Rockford, Thank you so much for your detailed responses so far Pls did you apply for medicals for your entire family including your baby? rockford: You can book an appointment with either IOM or Qlife and go for the medicals. You will tell them it's upfront and will be given a slip when you are done. This slip is what you upload with your application. |

Hello all, I have learned a lot here.
For those who received their Visit visa to Canada. Please help with the following 1. Were you given single or multiple entries? 2. What duration were you given? 3. If your visit visa expires, do you need a new invite to extend/apply for a new one? 4. Has anyone converted to a work visa while on a visit visa in Canada
I will appreciate your responses. God bless |

Seems your total bill was about 12000 My estimated bill is similar. So why do the consular officers insist that bills must be between 15000 to 20000 dollars according to those who have shared their visa renewal stories Are we supposed to beg the hospitals to increase the bill? The whole thing is somehow babestell: Hello House, time to share my story
I got my visa early last year before the who0le issue with dates started. I wasn’t pregnant then but we thank God for his gifts. I used Memorial Hermann and Dr Z. My cost breakdown is below
Dr Z (include ultrasound): $2550 Memorial Hermann sugarland; $3969 Anesthesia: $2000 Sunrise Pediatrics: $500 Hospital Labs: $300
The hospital labs is not a round figure as above, I rounded it up0. When we got home we received an additional bill from the hospital. Apparently the hosp0ital only allows their own p0ediatrics team attend to baby after birth. Instead of allowing the external child pediatrician attend. They charge the p0arents for the service and boy its not cheap. My bill when sent was Child Initial Birth: $750 Circumcision: $821 Baby discharge examination: $535
So pls if you are using this hospital, put all these in plan. Covid has dealt with the system so even all those freebies we used to get from hospitals are no longer available. They claim this was in response to Covid . I applied for baby passport last week of November. Even paid for express. Unfortunately, the passport is not out. We travelled with ETC, which my husband helped process.
I did my covid test at CVS and that’s what I used to travel.
Thanks to everyone who shared their journey.
PS Dr Z is Nigerian...I know there was time people were arguing over it here. |

Hmm thanks for the detailed info MamaOO: Wrong. Babies get HepB right after birth and at 1 month then the whole battery of TdaP, IPV (Polio), Rotavirus, HiB and Pneumococcal at 2 months. |

Thank you babestell, How many weeks was your 1st baby when you returned to Nigeria for the remaining Vaccinations. I'm thinking of doing same at 6/7 weeks. Just wondering what the effect would be babestell: I used sunrise pediatrics and the day we took all that plenty vaccine, my total cost (Dr visit + vaccine) was around $250. (TdaP, IPV (Polio), Rotavirus, HiB and Pneumococcal)
it also depends on your Dr. The cost for daily visit is different from cost of vaccines. my first child only took the one at birth and then we started vaccinations when we returned to Naija at 3 months. |

Please for those of you who have had your babies in the US, did you vaccinate your newborns? If yes, what vaccinations did you take and what were the costs?
Thank you |

Thank you so much @marypoppings2020 for your detailed response Yes it is helpful marypoppins2020: Congratulations in advance! Wishing you a safe journey and a smooth delivery.
1.) Did the airport officials in Lagos ask for your Full covid vaccination card/proof?
Yes they will so please have this ready especially since you are flying to the US. I flew from Abuja. Before entering the airport they asked to see my passport visa page, Covid test and Covid vaccine card.
2.) How many hours of your covid test result is required Check your airline and US CDC website for up to date information but at the time I flew it was 24hrs before your flight.
3.) Any tips for flying United Airlines to Washington DC e.g Choosing a seat, fit to fly etc
I think seat choice depends on you and what you want. If you don’t want to be bothered then obviously pick a window seat. If you know you’d like to easily go to the bathroom every so often then pick an aisle seat.
If Dulles is your Point of entry I would say they’re pretty relaxed. Have all your documents ready just in case. I traveled at 30 weeks and I wasn’t even asked what I was coming to do in the US. All I was asked was where my final destination was and how long I was staying.
Extra tips, dress comfortably but try and dress smart too.
Hope this was helpful. Best of luck! |
