For posing as an 'ashawo' (Nigerian slang for prostitute), the hardworking men of the Nigerian police force has arrested a 19-year-old man, who allegedly posed as female sex worker in the early hours of today, along Kaunda, Malawi and is currently in the custody of Kanengo Police.

The suspect identified as Van Gomani dressed up like a woman complete with hair extension, stood along the road where he was picked up by a man who thought she was a lady.

"They went together and booked a room. It was in that room that the other man noticed that the person he picked is not a lady but rather a fellow man." a source said.

The man dragged the suspect to police because he felt deceived and believed he posed as a lady with intent to......................

From the river where the croc was spotted, the boys chased and brought it out of the water to the land but the croc who loved his life dearly struggled for over two hours before it finally gave up but had seriously wounded one of its killers.

After the great kill, one of them that was seriously wounded was rushed to the general hospital while the other said that they are going to sell some parts of the animal to help them raise money for the hospital bill of the other man while he will use the remaining part to prepare pepper soup which when eated, would 'fasten the healing process of his fellow man'.

The recent clearance of the senate President by the Code Of Conduct Tribunal has raised eyebrows amongst Nigerians as to why they should declare him not corrupt. It could be recalled that last week, the CCT had said that the was no strong evidence that back up
their earlier claim of Saraki's corrupt practices and so they had dropped all charges and declared him "fit for the job".

This recent development has angered so many Nigerians who have taken to the internet and other platforms to protest the CCT's decision by writing and other means.

The University Of Uyo has released the new cut off marks for all her 92 departments and programs tenable in the citadel of learning.
This is in furtherance to the admission screening timetable that was earlier released.

According to the Dean, Students Affairs, Dr Mrs Idongesit P Solomon,
Torogist gathered that the cut off marks are not static but changes from time to time which may be due to the number of students applying to study that particular course in that particular year. In her words:" In Uniuyo we have about 92 active programmes operating under 12 FACULTIES until we can expand it to accommodate more and more students. That's why we have so many project at the university permanent site".

A facebook user posted pictures of accident that occurred just yesterday which led to the death of many Nigerians that travelled with the peace mass transit vehicle in Abia State. Though the deaths of these people is a pitiable dismal dismal and regrettably lugubrious, what caught my attention was what she wrote alongside the photos.
She captioned the photos with these thought provoking words: "to live long and fulfill your God given destiny, my brothers and sisters stay away from #peace_mass_transit. Earlier today, one of their buses had an accident in Abia State leaving many dead, #DEATHMASSTRANSIT.
Many have gone because of the carelessness of few..........too bad".

About a week ago, there was a snake killed in the main campus of the University Of Uyo during the physics 121 lectures of the year one students. As reported, the aftermath of the whole saga caused
fight between the engineering students and security agent who appeared for nowhere to claim the snake.

After the whole situation was calmed, normalcy was returned and the students returned to their normal activities not knowing that the worst was yet to come.
The Students may have put that event behind them when photos of a man eating the same snake surfaced in the school during the general class of GRE121 (Engineering drawing) lectures.

According to the owner of the phone, the photo was taken from the house of one of the security man (but not the one that carried the snake that day).
When asked how and the relationship between him and the security agent, he said that they are neighbours so when he saw a nicely prepared snake meat that the security man had carefully hid in the compound's general kitchen, he recalled a snake that was killed in his school and was prompted to find out because the snake in the pit looked so much like that of the school.

"Immediately the security man arrived", he continued, "his countenance changed....................

Two final year students of Makerere University, Uganda are to be disciplined and possibly expelled from their University for wearing revealing and utterly bad clothes to a dinner. It was gathered that the school authority labelled the outfit they wore to the
university function as “indecent”.


The tattered dresses have been making the rounds on social media since the weekend when the Finalist Education Dinner took place. The two have been summoned to appear before the disciplinary committee.
In a letter dated Tuesday May 30, 2017, and addressed to one of the students said to have appeared in the pictures, Ms Rebecca Naddamba, the Makerere University authorities had expressed dismay over the students’ conduct.

the platform for this profoundly important conversation. They deserve our deep gratitude for this opportunity for individual and collective introspection.

Introspection is probably what separates us from beasts. That ability to learn from history is perhaps the greatest defense from the avoidable pain of learning from experience, when history is a much gentler and kinder teacher. Indeed, the saying experience is the best teacher, is incomplete, the full statement of that Welsh adage is that experience is the best teacher for a fool. History is a kinder and gentler teacher.

I was ten years old when my friend in primary school then, Emeka, left school one afternoon. He said his parents said they had to go back to East, war was about to start. I never saw Emeka again. My aunty Bunmi was married to a gentleman from Enugu, I cannot recall his name. But I recall the evening when my parents tried to persuade her and her husband not to leave for the East. She did, we never saw her again.

I recall distinctly how in 1967, passing in front of my home on Ikorodu road almost every hour were trucks carrying passengers and furniture in an endless stream heading east. Many Ibos who left various parts of Nigeria, left friends, families and businesses, schools and jobs. Like my friend and aunty some never returned! But many died. The just concluded Unified Matriculation Examination (UME) organised by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has so far been very different from the ones of other years.
To start with, JAMB reduced the number of questions from 250 to 180 and this also affected the time to answer the questions.
As if that was not enough, the implementation of stricter measures and security transmogrification during the exams was something the candidates will never forget in anytime soon.


Also worthy of note is the released results as they are very different and strange from the pattern of Jamb maybe due to the fact that a new registrar now controls the affairs of the body who has not only changed the ordinances but has also deviated from the modus operandi and settings laid by the previous administration.
The kind of results the candidates received was actually a pointer to the fact that Jamb was ready for this year.
