Dont mind them, they are just like wole Soyinka or Achebe they contribute nothing meaningful to the society unlike SCIENTISTS who did almost everything to make the world a better place
Are you aware that science was initially called 'natural philosophy' and that pre-Socratic philosophers were concerned about the fundamental element of the universe ?

Undergraduate students ll b shouting ASUU leave us alone, d postgraduate school ll suffer heavy blow.......u may nt understand d implications nw
Maybe the external supervisors will be coming from Neighboring countries. LOL.
That's exactly my point, the post graduate students and the Associate Professors will feel it more.

For a starter unilorin may not be able to promote its qualified staff members to the professorial cadre. The lecturers won't be able to collaborate with other Unis to produce highly impactful journals, peer review becomes difficult. Basically, they are trying to ostracize unilorin
Exactly, many of the undergraduates don't know. The post graduate students will know better.
EducationRe: ASUU Bans UNILORIN From Academic And Non-Academic Activities by tosingcfr(m): 10:49pm On Jan 22, 2017
It's obvious many of the students commenting do not know the implications of these sanctions if truly they can be effected by ASUU. Ask your lecturers,they know better. Part of it is that it means no promotion for many of them cos they won't have the chance to write in many local journals and they will also need to get senior lecturers from other countries for the post graduate defense of the PG students and even external assessment for professorial cadre

EducationRe: As A Teacher, How Can I Help Boost Confidence In A Timid Pupil by tosingcfr(m): 8:24am On Mar 10, 2016
kennysteve77:
I have a little challenge! I am a teacher in a private school @Ajah-Lekki and I have this pupil (grade 2) that is timid, slow and forgetful. That is, he doesn't respond to questions on time even though he knows the answer, secondly he always forgets his books and other stuff @ school, he is slow in writing his notes and most times he ends up with an incomplete note because the board is rubbed off. Please what can I do to boost his confidence and make him more active and fast with his notes and also to correct his forgetfulness. Thanks in anticipation for timely response...
In questioning, you pose,you pause and you probe.

You are welcome.

It's pronounced: Iwotara'm. There is no "ya" in the sentence.

Ghota = Understand. There are different accents. Some pronounce it as Hota, Yota and Wota (as in your example)

I = You.

Ighota? (pronounced Ihota, Iyota, Iwota) = You understand?

Ighotara? (pronounced Ihotara, Iyotara, Iwotara) = You understood?

Whenever there is an "M" at the end of a sentence it is a contraction of "mu" and means "me" or "my"

Iwotara'm= You understood me?
Thanks. What would be the response if I understand? Is it awotara'm ?

I na aghota?

I is pronounced as E and it means, You

Na = Are

Aghota = understanding. When pronouncing it, the g is virtually silent.

Igbo is a tonal language so you tone will convey whether it's a question or a statement
Thanks . There is also one in Imo that sounds like "Iwotarayam". I got to hear that from mbaise

Bigfrancis22. Thanks as well. Are you familiar with mbaise?
