Webmasters / Re: How Much Will It Cost Me To Build And Maintain A Website? by tosinorogu(m): 11:05am On Nov 20, 2007
Hi Padonet,

I think this is very straight forward. If you know what you want, all you need to do is, create a list of the features and functionalities that you desire in your website, and if you have a detailed brief of other documents that might assist in determining other things that you might require on your website. If you require a quotes, simply send this to us: webservice@ebusinesspractice.com and we will respond to you confidentially within 3 hours, and send you a quotation, of the cost and time implications.

Please feel free to call any of my numbers if you wish to speak on the phone. Websites aren't all the same, the uniqueness of your requirements also affects the billing, but you can be sure of pretty low fee, and maximum of 1 week time-line for your pojects.
Webmasters / Re: Seeking A Web Mentor by tosinorogu(m): 10:58am On Nov 20, 2007
A2J,

I quite agree with all the responders, and I'll like to add this bit to that. Web Development is a serious thing, because it requires above all concentration and logical reasoning. However, I am willing to offer you some degree of mentoring if you're serious. Serious in the sense that I really do not have the time for unserious things or people.

And let me encourage you by saying this: chances are that you're good, just like many traditional programmers are, but in the development, you need to be able to think out of the box, and be able to see every project as solving real-life problems, For me, I have my office setup at home, and my company takes jobs from other web developing companies, and individuals. We are at the concluding stage of our Outsourcing site, where developers like you will be able to register, and we will send jobs to you at home. As along as you deliver, we don't care if you're white or black or have half head. That's how we have been working and getting paid from other countries around the world.

If you're serious, please send me a mail: webservice@ebusinesspractice.com

I want you to know that, what you probably need is 1 week of proper brush-up, and direction, and you're good to go. We all learnt in different ways, and I believe the more developers we have, the stronger we are to take on more serious and daring innovations that the world needs!
Webmasters / Re: Accepting Donations On Nigerian Websites by tosinorogu(m): 10:41am On Nov 20, 2007
Hello Idea,

That's absolutely right. I did mentioned e-tranzact in my previous post, and I think there fees are a little lower than Interswitch. But all the same, I believe it's fraud to charge any merchant fees at all. All over the world, setting up a merchant account with a payment gateway is a free deal, since you are still required to pay a transaction fee as a percentage to the company. I think the earlier we get more competetion in Nigeria, the better for us all. The other funny bit is that Interswitch for instance will not let e-tranzact process transaction on cards issues (or powered) by Interswitch. This is really backward. I like e-tranzact, the guys are really smart, the problem I think they had was poor market analysis, otherwise they should be rulling the market now, because they have been around for ages, but was known as Cybase. Cybase is a huge global company,

I hope we get more players in the market, this will make it easier for us all take proper advantage of the solutions we build.
Programming / Re: Open Source Exam Result Checking Web App by tosinorogu(m): 8:25am On Oct 02, 2007
If you had started the development, by now you would be through. Opensource scripts are good, but not the best for serious things like you want to do. They can't give you the customisation you want, and sometime you do more work customising than doing your own codes,

If you need a quote, please email me: tosinorogun@yahoo.co.uk
Webmasters / Re: Accepting Donations On Nigerian Websites by tosinorogu(m): 6:27am On Oct 02, 2007
Hello,

Accepting donations online is easy. Even from foreign countries. e-transact can process that for you. alternatively, if you have a bank account in the UK or US, you can use paypal and have them transfer money to your bank account from time to time. Once the money is in your bank account, you can access it from Nigeria through the ATM. I use Paypal with my UK Bank Account, and it works fine. One other thing you might wish to do though is to have several options, like if you are paying from Nigeria, click here, international click here.

Webmasters / Re: Reviews Wanted by tosinorogu(m): 6:15am On Oct 02, 2007
Honest opinion, I couldn't place the website. It might be a good idea to check website around the world that do what you do, then think about your own concepts, But I like good moves, yours was a good move!
Webmasters / Re: What's Your Opinion Regarding This Website by tosinorogu(m): 6:07am On Oct 02, 2007
Hello Tundewoods,

It's also very suprising to me too, just to know that the website is was never live! even though they keep updating it. I think the problem must have been yours. You did not create an index page for the site. You index page is: index_view.php, but there's another index page on the server: index.php or index.htm. If you want the site to go live, please ask for their permission and rename the index_view.php to index.php to replace the existing place holder.

Cheers!
Webmasters / Re: Jobs For Web Designers In Abuja Is Seriously Suffering by tosinorogu(m): 6:00am On Oct 02, 2007
Hello,

There are web jobs everywhere. I think you need to move a little higher. People aren't looking for designers anymore, they are looking for serious developers who can take-on serious complex web applications. If you need to keep getting jobs, please move up. I believe so much in us Nigerians, but we need to get serious, because the world is waiting for us. Right now, most of the jobs I do are outsourced in the UK by other web development companies.

Before now, such jobs are sent to India. Now I do my jobs, even when I come to Nigeria, as long as I have access to the Internet, I can reach my clients, and most importantly my UK Bank account here in Nigeria. So for a web developer, everywhere is home!
Webmasters / Re: Online Payment Merchant In Nigeria by tosinorogu(m): 5:23am On Oct 02, 2007
Hello Guys,

It is very unfortunate that we have brought the Nigerian factor into our e-commerce, which is supposed to operate more on global standards. I am fully aware that Interswitch is not the only payment gateway we have in Nigeria, and as a matter of fact, they don't seem to understand the online business ideology. If you are a web developer, building e-commerce application you would know that Interswitch is not serious.

I have implemented several Payment Gateways, from the very popular Paypal, to Allied Wallet, Barclays EPDQ, HSBC and other custom payment processing methods, but I find it laughable that 1. Interswitch is charging (because no one charges and still, ask for COT per transaction anywhere in the world). I think it's fraud, and we should kick against it. Maybe the solution will be to find more players in the business.

For me I thinkg e-tranzact (Cybase) is the better option or maybe the best option we have right now in Nigeria. These guys were offering their services for free, but Nigerian would not signup because they thought it couldn't be good if it was free. Now they have started to charge N120,000. They power most interbank transaction, and mobile banking in Nigeria, you guys may wish to find out more about them.

LovelyDash, one thing you might wish to consider though is that, if you eventually choose to use interswitch, consider that you are doing your business manually, because they don't agree to accept and return the standard parameters to your server after payment processing, and this is absolutely unbelievable. I can not understand what they think, but I think they assume we are all locals who don't understand global standards, or maybe they are the ones who don't understand.

I am web developer, and I do outsoursed web projects from Web Development companies in the UK.

Cheers!
