For me, it depends on why a person might average down. If one buys a stock with a blind hope that it goes up and sees the stock fall significantly, averaging down seems counterproductive as the initial trade/investment was not based on any informational edge.

If you have done diligent analysis and made the initial trade based on information/knowledge arising from your this analysis, then averaging down makes sense. If you thought Tesla was good value at $900, you would think $600 is even better value.

For most people here who seem to be chasing momentum stocks (high flying stocks) to make a quick buck, I would caution against averaging down.

It was my fault. After buying my normal pre market stock, I went back to the app to check again and another stock has overtaken the one i bought. Greed made me to still use the free fund i had to buy the new Number one pre market gainer. When the market opened, the two orders were executed as usual and it went into red like it always does the first minute, the loss was so big because i was losing in two stocks and i didn't have enough money left to carry the weight of the two loses which was running into - 400k plus.

So T212, quickly sold some of my stocks on my behalf so i won't run into negative balance, went back and bought those stocks again. Before i knew what was happening, i was already -2 million plus down.

I lost 2million today. So sad

EFCC will likely arrest all the students who can no longer go to school due to COVID 19 or strike, but have figured out that they could have a better life without blue or white collar jobs via superior intellect on cyber actions on their smart phones and laptops.

If EFCC is interested in getting rid of cyber crime and not out to be vindictive against fellow citizens, EFCC would have educate the victims on how not to fall in love and send money to strangers or how to protect their account information.

Cyber crime is a war between intelligence and ignorant systems, so it is best to actually address ignorance, because the way I see this world going, they will likely arrest every walking and talking being. Just seem easier to get rich by buying stolen credit cards on the internet and using it to buy gift cards and using bitcoin sellers to get the free money. Why would anyone wanna go to school or work for salaried life when he can do that ?
