Firefire:
Very lucrative line of business.

No sunk cost, no fixed or variable cost, no material costs, all you got is revenue per minute. The worst the country economic condition, the higher your income from the trade.

In the year 2000, I was offered to acquire Mechanics Bus Stop after Okokomaiko before Iyana-Ishashi by ECOMOG Boyz leader in Mile 2, I turned down the offer. Maybe I would have been a Mega-Billionaire now... embarassed

If Lagos State would fully attain a Mega City Status, I don't know how they plan to address this menace of daylight robbers created for electioneering purposes.

Anywhere una help me see MC Oluomo, make una greet am for me oooo.

Twale for Ojuyobo, jeun-soke, ko tun jeun sapo. grin

lol...this guy is very funny

But on a serious note, if people should tell you their various experiences in the hands of these guys, you would understand that something truly should be done about them. They are quite everywhere angry

the turtle couldn't kill you. if it was a snake, the love of life will make you kill it.
but kudos still
also you people should stop referring to yourselves as "a nairalander" you are talking about yourself for christ's sake

The mentality of the average Nigerian is to kill all animals they come across; dangerous or non-dangerous. I used a "nairalander" only to make a point.

Imdachick:
Really big

Yes it is

kendrick9:
Hope u won't kill and eat it...

lol, its currently in a park.

Science/Technology / The Sea Turtle A Nairalander Saved At Chevron Roundabout by tourismlove: 5:51pm On Dec 11, 2015
My Boss and I were returning from a retreat at one of the hotels in Lekki when we saw a group of young men with a huge Sea turtle at the roundabout close to Chevron. At first we decided to ignore this scene and drive on but the thought of what would become of the turtle if it got into the wrong hands wouldn’t let us be. So we decided to turn around and discuss with these young men. We asked what they wanted to do with the turtle and they said they wanted to sell it. We asked how much, and was told 20,000naira, we were able to negotiate the price with them and beat it down to 17,000naira.
At this point the turtle was looking very weak and tired, so we put her in the car and started driving. We considered returning her to the sea or taking her to Lekki conservation centre; but for the fact that she acted very weak and lethargic and this would only make her an easy prey for larger animals in the Sea, we decided to go with the latter option.
While wondering what could have made her return to land, even to the extent of getting captured, pop! she dropped an egg right there in the car. Apparently she was pregnant and only came to land to lay her eggs.
While driving to Lekki Conservation Centre, we decided to call someone over there to inform them of our coming but we were told that they have a strict acceptance policy which prohibits people from bringing animals to the centre. This I found very absurd and annoying; considering the fact that we were donating the turtle for free, not like we were requesting for any money from them. The fear that the new animal to be introduced might carry germs or diseases and infect other animals could be properly dealt with, simply by quarantining the new animal for a period of time and taking other preventive measures.
We ended up taking the turtle to Lufasi Park in Lekki were she was gladly accepted.

Main Point
We continue killing, maiming and hurting almost all the animals we find in our environment. Anytime I come online to nairaland, there is always a topic that looks like the “see the animal that a nairalander killed in his room, house, compound, school etc”. It would either be a snake, alligator, squirrel, deer etc. You never see a topic like “see the animal a nairalander captured and is returning to the zoo”. The mere fact you could kill it means you could also capture it and take it to the zoo, park or reserve. It is just inhumane, unfair and wicked to keep killing all the animals we find in our environment. There would be a time when all these animals would be gone in Nigeria; what then do you want the generations yet unborn to see.

Sorry for the quality of the pictures

Somewhere there is a little boy, a little girl, a mother, a father, calling a phone that will forever ring, no longer answer. Somewhere, there are tears, and fear, and ripping heartache that no longer will they hear their loved one laugh, call their name, hug them, or just be there. Somewhere there are those who have the heart rending duty to see these children, to see these mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends. Somewhere there is the one who must say the last goodbye, to pull the sheet over them, to look that family in the eye and deliver notice. I plead with all of you, no politics, no bickering, no grandstanding or platforms or debates. The halls of Heaven are too full of new Spirits. If you feel the need to debate, instead Say a Prayer, say a prayer for those who will no longer hear the laugh or see the smile of their loved one. Please just show your respect, show your tenderness, and send Prayer and Peace to Borno, Abuja and Oregon. Just wanted to share my feelings and so much more. Today is World Tourism Day

World Tourism Day, which falls on Sept. 27 annually and is celebrating its 35th year in 2015, was conceived by the United Nations to celebrate one of the world’s most important industries.
World Tourism Day was established at the third session of the U.N. World Trade Organization General Assembly in 1979, it was seen as a milestone within the international community and demonstrated the important social, cultural, political and economic effects of travel worldwide.
“Every time we travel, for whatever reason, we are part of a global movement; a movement that has the power to drive inclusive development, create jobs and build the sustainable societies we want for our future; a movement that builds mutual understanding and can help us safeguard our shared natural and cultural heritage,” noted the U.N. World Tourism Organization Network, underlining the founding values of the day.
Sept. 27 was chosen as the day because it comes at the end of tourism's high season in the Northern Hemisphere and the beginning of the holiday season in the Southern Hemisphere.
So to celebrate World Tourism Day, here are pictures of the beautiful tourist attractions of My country Nigeria.

So you have been wondering where your next trip should take you, you have been to France, Dubai, Belgium but you haven’t been to Nigeria, well I am glad to tell you that you haven’t yet traveled.

Here are 7 reasons why Nigeria should be your next tourism/tourist destination

1. Food: I have watched the food planet for a while now and I think it’s one of the best channels ever but if you think that’s all that can happen in a kitchen, then you are so wrong. No other place in the globe (or food channel, well for now) can offer you the types of foods available in Nigeria. From the cereals to the pulses, vegetables, grains and tubers; Nigerians have always had the ability to recreate these farm products into some of the most unique delicacies and soups in the world. Have you ever tried pounded yam or akpu with egusi soup and fresh palm wine, okay let’s move from known first, or an option of spicy jollof rice with dodo, some fresh vegetables and suya. All pushed down with a cool “Nigerian” beer? Gbegiri and Ewedu, Ofe nsala, Edikang-ikong, nkwobi and Afang soups; all these will leave you with a “less than one finger” experience, I mean the finger that tasted so much like the food and got the bite. Ha ha! I can see that you are already imagining it. I have only mentioned very few of the options available and hope you don’t lose the plate too

2. Nigeria is diverse, unique and interesting: Nigeria has well over 250 ethnic groups, speaking over 500 languages. Experiencing Nigeria is something you can never get to experience anywhere else in the world and I warn again, cannot be experienced just in one trip. Imagine being in the midst of the most populous black nation in the world, most populous nation in Africa and the Giant of Africa; a people with a unique approach to life, very religious and easy to become friends with. I am sure you cannot consume all the available experience in 5 years, but not to worry, you can always return for more… such an experience is simply magnificent!

3. Nigerians are attractive, friendly and fun loving people: Nigerians are one of the best-looking folks in the world. You doubt it? Then come see for yourself. The men with their well-cut features and the women offering more than you can ever see on the fashion magazines or imagine, provide an all season beauty for you to bask in. There is never a dull moment when you are with a Nigerian. At times I think Eddie Murphy, Chris Talker and Chris Rock are all from Nigeria and that is because they have some traits of the Nigerian people – full of expression. Now imagine a society filled with such, ready to give you an experience of a life time… now that’s the Nigerian experience. Nigerians are also one of the most kind-hearted people on the face of the planet, who are helpful to a fault. The average Nigerian is always open to meeting new people and assisting in whatever ways they can. Let it also be on record that Nigerians are known to be one of the happiest people in the whole world (and this happiness is highly contagious). Are you feeling depressed? Come take a happiness pill with us, it’s free! And also Nigerians have one time been ranked the happiest people in the whole world.

4. Rich cultural and historical heritage: Nigeria’s history and culture is one that is peculiar to her alone. Come see the various traditions, festivals, cultures and arts that would leave you in awe. Hear also the stories of our coming together – the great amalgamation, the British colonization, down to the slave trades (and yes, we have forgiven them – thank you!) and the times of civil war. Nigeria has always come out stronger of whatever challenges they come across. Did I also mention that Nigerians are resilient? Oh my! Nigerians are definitely one of the most resilient people you can come across; we are survivors and always with a smile. That’s also part of our peculiar cultural and historical heritage. I must warn you that you would be needing more than a trip to experience all we have to offer, trust me on this!

5. Nigeria has a lot of tourist attractions: Believe it or not, Nigeria can boast of having over 150 unique tourist attractions. From the rocks, hills and beaches in the South western part of the country to the plains, fields, savannah and wildlife in the Northern part of the country; down to the deep cultural practices and beautiful scenery in the south eastern and south southern part of the country; all these would leave you gasping for air. As I said before, we are always willing to welcome you again and again. You don’t have to rush the experience…

6. Nigeria’s nightlife: Nigeria’s nightlife is second to none. The night calls you to an experience you would never forget. With various clubs to meet different needs, your experience in the Nigerian cities like Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt would leave you with a permanent smirk of a smile on your face (I know you know what I mean…) from the clubs to the casinos, parties and even the night cuisines, yep! Night cuisines with the mai shai, mai suya and those spicy meals that go hand in hand with night life. Nothing beats the Nigerian nightlife. If for no other reason you choose to come to Nigeria; come for the night life.

7. We at TOURS NIGERIA dare you (Take up the challenge): So you have been to the 7 wonders of the World and you’ve never been to Nigeria? You’ve gone bungee jumping, sky diving, gone swimming with the sharks and so on but never been to Naija? You ain’t seen anything yet! The saying goes that if you can survive in Nigeria, you can definitely survive anywhere in the world. If you tell most people that you are coming to Nigeria for vacation, they would say that you are crazy and have gone nuts.

It is just different! Ever thought of going somewhere different, not the usual stuff, something away from the norm… Ha ha!!! This is it. You have tried the usuals and can’t think of any other thing? Why not give this a shot? It’s not as bad as they say it is, if it were I am sure the population of the country would be on the decrease and not the observed increase. Haven’t you thought about that? What makes these people stick to being in the country? Come see for yourself. Come, and write your own story…

Okay, maybe you think this is all BS, this guy is just selling his country but wouldn’t you LOL. On a very serious note, all I have written here are facts and nothing but facts. An experience and viewing of the Pyramids in Giza or the Great Wall of China or the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, all depend on who is looking at these beauties, who is telling the story and from what perspective. Talk to the right person and you would experience a unique destination, second to none and filled with beauty in Nigeria. Are you one for adventure? Challenge yourself, come and visit us – we are spontaneous, innovative, fun loving (and I mean FUN LOVING), happy and always willing to give you an experience of a life time. I guarantee you that I could give you the same experience for 5 times and over, and you would not find any similarity, except fun! See you in Nigeria…

Culture / WELCOME TO AFRICA - 15 Funny Attributes That Suggest That You Might Be African by tourismlove: 8:22pm On Sep 20, 2015
Hi friends,
if after reading through this post, you find out you posses most of these qualities then you might be African or have African roots. Please enjoy reading

1. You don’t play with your food: Africans don’t play with their food; you could get beat up for touching the food of an African.

2. You have more than one mobile sim card: The average African has more than one mobile sim card, this is due to the crappy mobile network providers; the funny thing is that most usually have only one phone which might have slots for as much as 4 sim cards.

3. You don’t likewise play with your sleep: Never wake an African from his or her sleep, you just might end up in a coma.

4. You have a very loud voice: This is a gift from mother nature herself, the ability to shout without stress

5. You have Special Outfits that you wear for Christmas, New Year, and parties, to the church or mosque: Africans always love to look good irrespective of the occasion; we carefully select special clothes and hope nobody else wears it except when it had been agreed.

6. You always love to be noticed: Africans love to be the centre of attention even if it’s in our uncles burial

7. You are very respectful and desire to be equally respected: A word synonymous to Africa is respect. An African is trained to respect their elders or one in a position of authority even to a fault.

8. You get scared easily: Need I say more, it’s in our DNA. You want to have a successful prank, try it on an African.

9. You wish you had super powers: As funny as this may sound, we Africans believe in the supernatural and would love to posses such powers for ourselves.

10. You are very materialistic: The success of an African is measured by how much wealth he or she is able to amass for himself or herself

11. You like free things; as long as you don’t have to pay, its fine by you: From free food, to free wifi, to free ride; and African would never turn down this offer as long as it’s free.

12. You love your life: Safety is paramount in Africa; you don’t mind losing all your properties as long as you don’t lose your life. That’s why you rarely see an African on a roller coaster or close to water.

13. You easily identify with people you aren’t even close with: Africans are very friendly. We easily start up a conversation in a bus, train, cab or plane; even with someone you never met before

14. You believe any bad thing happening to you is as a result of external forces: Most Africans believe that aliens are hindering our success or a certain witch in their village is sitting on their destinies

15. You have a very funny accent: well English is not our mother tongue but we try

I LOVE AFRICA

It’s the end of another week and I thought a good way to end the week was in a light way. I don’t often talk about me here. Yes, I talk about my travel blog but I don’t often go into personal information about my life. So I’m ending this week with some random facts about me and my life:

1. I loved voltron, power rangers and captain planet as a child. The sad thing is that nobody talks about captain planet again

2. I am scared of heights, have only been on a plane once and that was in primary school; still wondering if I would ever agree to enter a plane again

3. I am an intro-extro; I actually made that up; I like staying indoors a lot but a few times I also love going out. So I am calling myself an intro-extro

4. I love pets a lot, especially dogs

5. Am trying to revive Tourism in Nigeria the little way I can

6. I have never been admitted to the hospital before

7. I am a huge fan of Asa and old school music; It’s embarrassing right; I know cool

So those are 7 random facts about me; feel free to write yours
