Talented and handsome fast-rising Nollywood actor, Davidson Uchenna Dikeocha has decried the impact of the current Nigerian economic downturn on practitioners of the Nigerian movie industry.


Speaking recently to NewsEveryHour.com while on set of “The X-List”, a new romance/suspense film by Lachris Pictures featuring himself, IK Ogbonna, Zack Orji, Ufedo Sunshine, Tamara Eteimo and many more, the 6ft tall actor dropped a bombshell.


“My role in the movie ‘The X-List’, My character in the movie was maxwell , best friend to Fred (IK Ogbonna). Fred is a big time playboy who became haunted by his past life just when he was ready to settle down with the love of his life, and i must tell you that his role is not far from what happens nowadays among the youths; among the so called ‘fine boys’. It’s disturbing how many youths have developed a penchant for being ‘playboys’ and ‘gigolos’. It’s disturbing! I tell you, even in Nollywood. It’s on the increase lately especially with the ongoing economy recession; many good looking actors have turned into glorified gigolos sleeping around with rich women and many of these women are married. Imagine that. The excuse many of these fine boys give is that ‘boys must survive na’. But what i’m trying to say is that every lifestyle we indulge in will sooner or later tell on us. There is a repercussion for everything, " Davidson told reporters.


Asked if he also indulge in such a act since he equally falls into the category of the ‘fine boy’ actors and a ladies man anyday, Davidson, a graduate of Forestry and Wildlife from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, laughed out loud and said..


“I am from a strong Christian background. I can't compromise my integrity for money. Think about it. Importantly, i won’t stop insisting that actors should diversify. Don't make yourself ‘sex hawkers’, get industrious. That is one thing i do. I have another business i run. Our industry is not the type that brings a consistent income, so you just must have a back up.”

The Imo State born actor asked his fans to watch out for him soon as he is about to take his acting career to a whole new level, and also appeal to the Government to please do something urgent as the recession has left not only actors becoming “sex hawkers”, but Nigerians in general in every sector are groaning.

Six people were reportedly found dead and two others unconscious earlier today at 50-50 Hotel, located around Uyo street in Umuahia, Abia State. According to Abia Facts Newspaper:

"The hotel is a brothel and the girls living there have had experience of mysterious slaps some weeks back that left one person unconscious. This incident of strange slaps made all the occupant of the brothel to leave, only for the owner to recruit news ladies from other cities. Unfortunately, 3 ladies and their customers are today not alive to tell the story of what happened or what befallen them over night that left them dead.
All the six dead bodies have been deposited at the morgue as at press time and the two unconscious body taken to the hospital. The Nigerian Police has cordoned off the hotel, as crowd builds up around the environment to catch a glimpse of what happened. We also received report of the Nigerian Police shooting canisters of teargas into a near by Hospital (Life Essential Hospital) in a bid to disperse the crowd"

The Shepard-in-charge of Genesis Model Int’l, Celestial Church of Christ, prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe popularly known as Genesis, has described some Pentecostal pastors as “marketers.”

Ogundipe said this on Sunday September 11, 2016 at the Grand Ballroom of Oriental Hotel, Lekki, while giving a speech at the recently heard Excel 2016 in Lagos.
In his keynote address, Ogundipe who also doubled as the host said, “I see lot of Nigerian pastors as marketers. If you want to know a true pastor, he or she would be working on furthering the gospel and not to undermine the efforts of others".

He also noted that the opulent lifestyle of some so called men of God is appalling and not according to the command of God. “When i see a true pastor i know and when i see a marketer it will be glaring”, he said.

He admonished those who are confusing preaching the gospel with marketing of themselves for the accumulation of worldly riches.

However, Ogundipe was full of praises for men of God such as Pastor E.A Adeboye of Redeemed Christian Church of God and some others who have contributed immensely to the spread of the gospel

According to those who should know, Ogundipe allegedly said this against the backdrop of the blackmail leveled against him and his denomination, the Celestial Church by some Pentecostal pastors.

Ogundipe was said to have invited America born preacher, Dr. Mike Murdock to be part of Excel 2016, and in which the preacher agreed to as evident in the advert aired on Channels TV, a day to the event. But at the last minute, on his arrival in Nigeria, some Pentecostal pastors allegedly led by a Nigerian pastor who has the biggest church in UK, were said to have approached Murdock not to honour the invitation, alleging that his reputation would be soiled if he graces the event.

And on hearing this, the preacher made a U-turn and left the awaiting crowd disappointed.

However, the event went on fine as over 10,000 worshippers had a swell time, listening to the word of God and songs of praises. . Lanre Teriba, George Audu Sax, Big B, Lara George and the Genesis choir added excitement to the event with their performances.

Excel is said to be a yearly spiritual event mixed with praise, worship and motivational talks to propel participants to keep on excelling.
Mike Murdock: How Some Pentecostal Pastors Blackmailed Him From Attending Celestial Church Event

Details have emerged on why America born preacher, Mike Murdock disappointed over 10,000 people over the weekend by not showing up at this year Excel 2016, a celestial church of Christ concert organized by Genesis Model Parish in Lagos.
Murdock, who was contacted to motivate participants at the event on Sunday, September 11, 2016, was nowhere to be found even though his absence was not really felt.

According to findings, Murdock couldn’t attend the event, which was held at the Grand Ballroom, Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, as a result of blackmail leveled against the Celestial church by some Pentecostal pastors.

According to the host, prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe popularly known as Genesis, he alleged that on hearing Murdock’s coming some pastors in Nigeria started calling to blackmail him from coming.

“They called Mike Murdock, saying that he should not come for a programme by white garment church in Nigeria. According to the Pentecostal pastors, white garment churches don’t have integrity. They told him that if he attends their programme he would soil his reputation”, the prophet said.

He also said he wondered why some so called Pentecostal pastors would go to such extent to blackmail a man of God from coming to Nigeria or taking part in a programme for the work of the gospel, noting that most of the so called Pentecostal pastors are marketers and not serious men of God.
