FashionRe: Does Fade Milk Cream Good For A Black Person? by toytuns(f): 7:09pm On Jan 07, 2011
wazzza:
i just finished using nevia cream who people told me it makes one to get darker. I went to a cosmetic shop and the shop attendant prescribe fade milk cream to me i complaind its gonna make me fair but he said it will give me my true colour just wanna seek your opinions. Thanks
Fade cream will definitely give your skin the right color. But you will get a little bit of tone though. Check to see if there is Hydroquinone in it. If there is, there is probability of your skin getting lighter a little bit.
But if you don't use it everyday. I think you should be fine.
Fade creams are meant to clear spots on the body. They are not as powerful as all those skin lighting creams.

FashionRe: Africa Not Fashionable Enough. Seriously ? by toytuns(op): 10:50pm On Dec 14, 2010
cap28:
the pics are professionally done and the models are beautiful, the only problem is no white publication will bother with them because western society does not promote the beauty of black women.  This is the reason why Naomi Campbell despite having very european facial features and body shape STILL faces discrimination in the modelling industry.  The western modelling and beauty industry has been established to promote and extoll the beauty of white women, all other races are expected to aspire to be as "beautiful" as white women not the other way around, this is why an african vogue will never be permitted.

Until very recently black women were not even considered a viable market to target when selling beauty products.

I think we need to look at doing our own thing and not always seek to copy and promote western ideals of beauty, many of the clothes modelled stil retain the style and aesthetics normally associated with white women - the white ideal of beauty is not the same as the black ideal of beauty therefore we should learn to have the confidence to be our own people and build on the god given attributes that we have.

FashionRe: Extra Eyelashes Love It Or Not It Rocks. by toytuns(op): 4:56am On Dec 14, 2010
I already have naturally big eye lashes but I wouldn't mind having more. Although I don't wear false eye lashes, I learned a trick to blending lashes and making them look natural. If you clip the lash in half and carefully apply the lash to the corner of your eyes, it gives a more natural look.
Wow thats a good one i'm learning today. such a good idea. I'll try it out.

Eh ya, I wish you lots of success in your fashion endeavors. Momolu really seems like a nice woman. I haven't met her in person but I've been to some events where she was at and she seems pretty cool. Have you ever thought of getting involved in New York African Fashion Week? A close family friend of mine was in it last season and I was so proud of her.
Yes I will as the time comes, Its a gradual process I think. When you come in, you want to come in with all you,ve got.
To be able to get recognized.
thanks for the suggestion.
