Imo, the main reason why some men marry at any age is because the woman bears most of the childcare.
If men had to do it, most of them wouldnt be so eager to marry late. |

anonymous6: I never heard this before, I have actually heard the reverse that Nigerian women are one the top ten most beautiful in Africa. If it wasn't for the film industry of Nigeria people would have still had a negative stereotypical view of Nigeria women and/or african women in general, so I don't know about your question. Not sure the film industry actually helped in that regard. I could be wrong though, but nigeria's bad reputation has worsened over the years, not improved. |

Daurawa expressed dismay that foreign countries viewed Kano as the beggar’s haven, lamenting that some dark skinned beggars were arrested in Saudi Arabia and deported to Kano, assuming them to be of Kano origin. |

It could be recalled that Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso recently spoke at a meeting with the Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of security challenges in the North, a.k.a Amnesty Committee. He traced the security problem to the failure of the nation’s leaders to take full responsibility of governance and offer the dividends of democracy to the people.
“We are all guilty,” was his verdict.
He also regretted that family values are no longer being upheld. “Parents no longer take responsibility for their family,” he said.
In a statement with important implications for the lifestyle in the North, he said, “We have a situation in this part of the country where parents give birth to 20 to 30 children, choose only two out of them and send the rest away to God knows where.
“Children are sent to places that they don’t know. They are left to fend for themselves. We have a situation where you go round the city and find a garrison of children – able-bodied youths begging.”
He said that having been abandoned by their parents, such children “grow up to hate themselves, hate their parents, hate the leaders, and hate the government and the society. They feel deprived, they feel injustice and they become enemies of the state and constituted authorities; thereby become vulnerable to crime and violence.” http://leadership.ng/news/260513/ending-age-long-street-begging-kano#sthash.dOfM0q68.dpuf |

Kano to clear urchins, beggars from streets
He said government has concluded arrangements to evacuate Almajiri from Kano to various states and countries of their origin, pointing out that the issue of street begging constitute both social and security threats.
According to Daurawa recent survey by experts indicated that over 65 per cent of Almajiri in Kano were young men deported from overseas and dumped in the state.
Arrangements have been concluded by the state government to ban street begging and send away all child street beggars (Almajiris) that are not Kano indigenes to their states of origin,” Daurawa added.
According to him, deported street beggars from abroad are taken straight to Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, “and their assumption is that all black street beggars are from Kano. This is embarrassing and we can no longer condone it” http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2013/06/04/kano-to-clear-urchins-beggars-from-streets/ |
