Nchara: Two fictional books could have provided some insight: Peter Nwanna's Omenuko (first Igbo literature written in 1930 and a must read for any Igbo) and Cyprian Ekwensi's (CE) African Nights Entertainment, about migration in Northern Nigeria and the wondering sokugo. But these are fictions.ekwensi was born in minna, niger state. niger does have a sizeable population of igbos. |
jaittofidelix: I want to know the historical background and the sociocultural profile of the arigidi people and that of the Ese people of Ondo state.what do you want to know? ![]() you can also post your question here: https://www.nairaland.com/1043937/akoko-northern-ondo-state |
well, if you put it that way. . . . . . . . . . |
if the story is true! cant trust the media these days, they were also the ones reporting a squid was a mermaid. |
anyway! like i said, the best way to handle this matter [if true], is to leave the girl to practice her new religion. meanwhile, the emir should take on the financial responsibilities of the girl's family members, move them to better accomodation eg buy them a house or two in abuja or lekki, her siblings should have nice cars as gifts, etc etc. he should also extend his largesse and magnamity to her larger community and well wishers such as myself, i dont mind being a part of the nigerian dream, any little gift is ok, cash, contract, etc. |
time to dust off a copy of cyprian ekwensi's burning grass and reread it. i think there was a similar situation described there, with mai sunsaye et all. |
The intolerance of Christianity is on display now for everyone to see. Not too long ago a story appeared on this forum that one of the sons of Ado Bayero converted from Islam to Christianity. He had no threats on his life and moved about freely and his story was public. Now the daughter of a Pastor converts from Christianity to Islam and hate and threats and intolerance is abound, even CAN is intolerant of her conversion. It goes to prove that fanaticism, extremism, fundamentalism and intolerance exist in any religion that teaches dogmas and Christianity is not immune from the various terroristic images that Islam is labeled with. Christianity is just as volatile as Islam if the buttons are pushed to the right level. The show is on.....
just wondering, what would be your reaction if your daughter or sister said she wanted to marry a fulani, as in this post: I also heard the case of a corp member that got married to a fulani. She publicly told her parent she was not going with them because she has found her hubby, a cattle rearer. |
I have never for once trust the judgement of the female child. I love the girl child, but would rather have sons as children. This is a hard choice for me. I am sorry to say this.
i was also thinking, didnt want to say it out though, that's why some men say they'd rather not have female children. true, the stress is much but with prayer e go better. |
BUSH MAN: so any child born in Italy by immigrants do not get an Automatic citizenship? wow! they really are Racists even the Germans do not do thati dont think germans give automatic citizenship either, do they? most of europe doesnt, its an almost uniquely american thing. |
are lawma officials on nl? some nlers are always complaining about seeing ladies' pant hanging outside, what do we infer from this? |
i dey even find who go hook rich guy among my acquaintances sef. all this hustle and bustle dey tire person sometimes, if i were her relative, i'd make sure whoever dey do love nwantiti for this matter, settles me o. na God provide am. |
well, there's a man shortage. how old is this guy? Is he ghanaian? |

the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but spiritual. if somebody carries your name [or destiny] and nails it to a tree, maybe its your gibberish prayer that will break your bondage, you never know. you are not aware of what people do behind your back! what kind of intellectual argument do you want to get into with someone who has that type of mindset? of course its not mandatory, but neither do you have to knock what you dont agree with. it all depends. |
It's a proven fact that it's the newly converts that are most radicalized.true. |
philip stanley: I call dis "influence of bad frnds"true that. however, longer throat might also be involved. it takes the grace of God to be a choir member for real. |
deols: Her Father should open his heart to the truth his daughter has seen. Abi he is more concerned about securing his meal ticket ala pastor job?i really think the emir should take up the financial responsibilities of her family. someone like me who is even looking for financial bonanza, i would just call on my new inlaws with my list of financial needs in hand. ona kan o woja, there are many ways God can use to bless someone. bye bye to suffering, hello to enjoyment, i don enter the league of priviledged nigerians be that. |
the emir promised to send her to another schoolyes, he should do that, and hopefully she'll do well there. |
she got admitted in 2012 and converted to Islam in feb 2013. i do hope this isnt all a ruse to cover up the fact that she perhaps wasnt doing well in school? |
^ what's your point? because you're not angry she's being xenophobic, means nobody else should correct her? o go gan sha. are you even yoruba to begin with, or is this something the two of you cooked up in accordance with the official nl policy of hatred towards yorubas? |
ajibaby 2: This is a spiritual battle that should not be fought physically. The pastor should know that. I also heard the case of a corp member that got married to a fulani. She publicly told her parent she was not going with them because she has found her hubby, a cattle rearer. A sensible person will know that someone in her right senses will not seek to dine with the devil especially when you are aware of the outcome which is HELL. She needs our prayer right now.lol, this is funny. so, she chose the nomadic life over a city one? Not saying anything's wrong with that, but its usually oyibos who like that kind of thing. Not southerners. too many funny stories full here, lord have mercy. but, why do our nollywood celebrities never do anything like that even when they say they're marrying for love? They always make sure their paramours are well placed and with feet firmly grounded in a southern region, not even a northern one. |
whose child is that, tori O'loun!!!!!!! wetin concern the baby with the topic, na the girl's pikin? ![]() all you anti-child devils, God is watching you o. |
And you know this how? Yes I am dismissing your opinion.
are you now! |
And your village doctor told you this? Buahahhaha loco babosa!
99% of your supporters here are yoruba males. do you want to deny that? |
my family are strong practicing christians and her folks are strong practicing muslims. Every Sunday she calls me on phone and reminds me not to miss church, I encourage her not to miss any fastna wa for you young people! your story sounds too far out to be believed sha. |
makahlj2: But of course, isn't the Western education a sin?^ thats supposed to be for northerners, she's not one yet. |
theoctopus: The simple thing that gives this story up as a farce is the fact that she dropped out of school.and yes, she dropped out of school, forgot to add that. |
i do hope she isnt aiming for IBB. mariam was born muslim o. |
