Christianity Etc › Re: WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY!!!! Lets Share Our Knowledge. by tpia5: 8:55pm On Jul 26, 2012
Bible study involves reading the bible sweetie.

Quote specific verses that you want to study.

Imo, not set in stone.

Not trying to discourage you unless you're one of the unserious fellows.
Christianity Etc › Re: Does It Takes The Grace Of God For One Not To Indulge In Fornication/adultery? by tpia5: 8:52pm On Jul 26, 2012
Thank you dear.

So, does that mean you'll be praying for me and at the same time will turn your lady into an honest woman so she doesnt become frigid like me and in addition, is it too much to ask for you to get closer to God.

Not going to happen, right?
Culture › Re: Have You Heard A Yoruba Man Singing With A Touareg??? by tpia5: 8:22pm On Jul 26, 2012
Anyone who hates english shouldnt type or communicate in english.

Simple as abc and no need to open meaningless threads.

When you were asking for visa i'm sure you were aware the countries you were going to dont have nigerian as an official language.

If you'd prefer they make your native language the official one where you are, then write obama or somebody to get things rolling and discontinue english.
Family › Re: He Sells His Wife's Chin-chin In The Office by tpia5: 4:45am On Jul 26, 2012
its actually not unusual to see people selling stuff in nigerian workplaces.

household items, shoes, clothes, etc,.

i really dont see what the big deal is as long as its kept to a minimum and preferably lunchbreaks.

but to each his own.
Christianity Etc › Re: Does It Takes The Grace Of God For One Not To Indulge In Fornication/adultery? by tpia5: 4:31am On Jul 26, 2012
anyway, being frigid means the topic does not apply to me.

but its still by the mercy of God.

whoever is in charge of these things should make sure nigeria is represented there if possible- ie if they let her in.

I am a bit surprised at the responses on this thread. It's obvious that most of the replies are coming from people with limited corporate experience. The man's action is unprofessional and this type of activity is expressly forbidden in most mid-size to large corporations in the West. In fact, the only other type of "employment" or "business" most employers will tolerate is non-profit work or volunteer work. Selling merchandise in the office is grounds for immediate dismissal.
i think a bit of selling is allowed during lunch hours- it depends on company policy and the product must not be a competitive one.

In addition, small stuff wouldnt be sweated unless the manager is somewhat a.nal.

I've bought small items at work before, years ago.

but in nigeria where everyone is trying to hustle, i dont think it should be a big deal inasmuch as the guy isnt in a top managerial postition.

Even if he is sef. Assuming he's selling cars, would it be an issue.

^ yes, even a lot of fulanis today were adopted into the culture originally, via their forebears.

what's your point @ op.

and isnt that the guy who was in a movie the other time.
Culture › Re: What Would You Do If You Have Tribal Marks by tpia5: 7:31pm On Jul 25, 2012
i think fulani culture allows for adoption into the tribe, just like ijaw culture also.

you do some ceremonies and become a bonafide member.

i saw something to that effect somewhere.

if your country is paradise, congratulations! But please enough of the insults. Any well-bred person should know that
i dont think they can understand these things.
Romance › Re: I Am After His Money And He's After My "Assets" by tpia5:
somebody can build a story from this, i'm sure.

think i've read something like it before.

guy takes "reluctanct" girl to hotel, girl "reluctantly" lipsrsealed sleeps with him, collects some money, etc etc.

girl eventually meets some other guy who doesnt mind all that, they get married and no qualms after.

something bad happens to mr moneybags and he either caputs or whatever. Especially if he wants to prove stubborn and start blackmailing the girl or refusing to let go so she can date a young, clean guy.

etc etc.
Culture › Re: 3rd Generation Nigerians Abroad by tpia5: 12:04am On Jul 25, 2012
most second and third generation immigrants, (or the children of first generation immigrants) find it a bit hard adapting to the various cultures they've been raised in.

there's a disconnect between both cultures (the home country and the host country).

third generation might have it socially easier in some way because they wouldnt be under the same pressure and might find it easier to adapt and fit in to wherever they are.

though by that time they'd probably be "lost" to the original homeland sha.

anyway, whatever.
Culture › Re: 3rd Generation Nigerians Abroad by tpia5:
this kind of thread makes a bit of sense compared to most of the other bad belle or irrelevant ones one often sees in the section.
Foreign Affairs › Re: John Mahama (VP) Is Ghana's President Now by tpia5: 11:41pm On Jul 24, 2012
JOHN Kufour, JOHN Atta Mills and now JOHN Mahama. Seems the name John is connected to Ghana's Seat of Power
JJ before Kuffour is also John.

JOHN Rawlings JOHN Kufour, JOHN Atta Mills and now JOHN Mahama
You forgot JOHN Rawlings and JOHN Newman (President Mills' Chief of Staff)
john dumelo
very linear thinking.
Food › Re: Why Is Corn Being Sold For N50? by tpia5: 11:33pm On Jul 24, 2012
if the retail price for corn on the farm is N6 (doubtful), that doesnt translate to its selling at the same price on the open market.
