so weird, why do people in religion section always get jittery and uneasy if they dont see their "friends" posting for a while? if you people are so close that you cant do without yourselves, why not move your stuff offline so you can check on each other as needed? personally, i feel if you have gotten to that level of needing someone, then your interaction shouldnt be necessarily limited to nl alone. i could be wrong though. |
"have been given" |
Bianca Ojukwu must be from Togo... Because most Nigerian women give in to extended families to settle things out of court, does not mean they are not entitled to certain rights the courts grant them. And if they fight it in court, they would win most likely. A woman married traditionally will argue in customary court, why should a woman married in court not fight in court? This one has lawyer brothers and knows what she is doing. You said what i said, if the man says they should be given something. They will get. In the absence of any will, they are not entitled. They were not married to the man traditionally or legally. Except the wives agree to give them something. Their children are entitled just as the other children of the man are. Equally. Though the wives will be settled first before the kids.
different parts of nigeria, different customs and culture. seems you are determined to not get my point. a woman can go to court if she wants to, however its not really advisable for her to do so. |
michelle looks very fine though. this obama just resembles somali/ethiopian too much. |
Snoggy: MTCHEEEEEW!!!The issue here is climate change, mr too know. It is winter where michelle is coming from! |
Like I said, it depends on the culture. In some places, the concubines of a polygamous man will be considered when sharing his estate provided he recognized them before his death ( in instances where he left no will). And if there were offspring involved. However, that is theoretically speaking and not with any backing in civil law, neither does it mean the person involved will actually get anything., it all depends. The fighting I was referring to is your statement about the wife fighting over the husband's estate in court- that does not necessarily work in nigeria. |
sandijey: How can someone wiv eyes call ffk and that lady beauty and the beast! How can u look at femi and call him the beast. Is It because the woman is white? That man is handsome and he is ageing well. Little wonder everyone is bleaching! White is clean! Black is dirty innit? He looks like a real african dude wiv very nice facial features! He actually looks like an AA or fulani. Can't be easy handling all the 'female attraction' he must be receiving all the time. The man na magnet for ladies I guess. |
The lady looks like bianca though. Was she ( white lady) really his girlfriend? |
There is nothing to fight over, because things work differently in nigeria. |

Thanks for sharing. |
It depends on the culture. In some areas, the legal wife gets as much as she can lay hands on and other 'wives' are left out in the cold, while in other parts of nigeria, each wife and concubine is entitled to something. Whether they actually get it is another matter. Nigerians like fighting over property though, easiest way to destroy a family. |
What's your question? |
If the money involved is consequential, it can be put in a trust and administered by a board of trustees, with proceeds distributed to the kids every so often. The members of the board should also receive a salary. Just a very complicated situation, lord have mercy. I don't see a win win here. Everybody loses . |
See the way she was adjusting her sleeve. Like she was ready to throw a punch.
Can someone not adjust their sleeve again without all kind of meanings being read into it? If you did not see her removing her earrings then stow it abeg. Maybe it was hot at the venue, afterall they WERE in africa. And btw, where is cameron's wife, why wasn't she at the service, and does she not mind her husband taking 'selfies' all over the place? Seems mr 'good times' is the one taking all the slack here. |
Who is the i.diot offering that kind of money? |
Everybody cannot be 'one's type', some people are better off just being friends (if necessary) and nothing more. If you make the mistake of taking the relationship further, you run the risk of taking things further off course. Besides, some people simply don't jell, I wish folks would realize this. I personally do not take offence if someone doesn't consider me 'their type' ( whatever that means). As long as you are not obnoxious with your disapproval. |
you're welcome, nice topic. |
key word here is "every" i suppose. make we nor whitewash our family o! nobody family holy pass. unless you want make "dem" come dig up the unsavoury parts for you! |

texaco1: i dont think he has the financial ability to go to school now , what i meant was that he should devote at least the first 6 to 7 months of next year to both work and business in order to raise enough capital , but i think you too have a point and it is ultimately down to the op to decide what he or she wants to do . thanks for correcting me though , i appreciate itthanks for the heads up, very much unexpected. |

there is no such thing as a perfect home, except in our imagination. people should stop being so judgmental of others, because as Jesus said, remove the log in your own eye first before checking the speck in those who are not you. must everybody be you? ![]() |
God's blessing is not necessarily limited to gender, its good to have both sexes but if not, does it really help to work oneself up over it? ![]() |
JustifiedChild: This is the best thread I have ever come across on nairaland... I'm not married yet though but i have learnt so much! May God bless each and everyone of you.it seems like a sane thread although i only read part of the first page. God bless you too. |
as the year winds to a close, people need to reflect on these things because sometimes it does not get better, it only gets worse. |
