I get what you're saying but by the 80's, quality had taken a nosedive. The 50's, 60, and early 70's were the good old days.

I remember my prof told us he could afford a brand new car as an assistant lecturer or lecturer ii back then. Imagine, someone probably without a PhD yet. He said he couldn't now, this was a Deputy Vice Chancellor oo

But I believe some Nigerian medical universities do good research.

Hello, I was not saying it's the norm. Take it easy. I graduated quite long ago. Otherwise, you seem to know how our oldest universities used to function back then. Back them, it was the best, sound lecturers.
