It’s really crazy when you save up or get a loan and end up buying a car you really wish you hadn’t most likely after driving it for a short period.

Okay so far I have personally purchased 6 vehicles over the years and I only regret buying 1.

My wife’s birthday was coming up back in 2012 and I had about 600k to buy her a present. Since she didn’t have a car yet, I decided to go buy a Nigerian used car.

I searched online and found a car I think here on Nairaland. A brown Toyota Corolla 2001. It was looking neat and all and was being used by a lady banker at eco bank, akin adesola. So since my office was close by I went to check and it looked “okay”. I checked out some basics, did a test drive and left. I paid I think the second day.

First two months the car was smooth as I went to Ibadan twice from Lagos with it. My wife used it lightly too as she wasn’t working at that time. Regular maintenance was done and all until one day I think around the 3 months after purchase.
I started the car and saw plenty white smoke behind. When my mechanic came he said the engine was previously ringed and plenty stories that didn’t touch.

I remember selling it off for 400k.

Share yours?
No be today nyash don dey for back...its part of life bro...

If you had followed the basics of buying a car, this wouldn't have happened... Like taking your mechanic along for double verification

I sold a car to a nairalander in 2018... Then...I had a lot of issues in my life... From financial to business drain to family issues... He saw how I was and one way or the other,I explained what I'm going through and what this man did next shocked me to the bones... He gave me money for welfare, filled the tank of the car I was driving then and did so many things for me. This is a man who supported me through it all...

Mr Seun Bamisile....

Wherever you are, I remember you every day and I pray for you everyday.
God bless you and may your children also find helpers when they need it most...
Family › Re: My Wife Is Angry With Me Because I Bought Underwears For Her Niece by TPound(m): 1:38pm On May 05, 2020
Caringfather:
Good evening all

Pls is it wrong for me to buy my wife niece under wears?

I have 3 children 2 girls ages 11, 7 and boy 4 , my wife niece is also living with us. She is 15. I buy my children clothes including their under-wears without my wife complaining I was the one that bought my first daughter her first bras too.

When my wife niece came staying with us it was 2018, I noticed most her clothes were native and worn out. I have given her the money to buy new clothes for the child but she never did. For 2 years now this girl has grown so much and still wearing the same clothes and I really feel ashamed every Sunday when we are going to church. Our kids are looking very cute and this girl is looking unkempt all the time. I have talked to my wife but she doesn’t seem to care about her.

I took all kids out for clothes shopping just before this pandemic and I bought clothes including under wears for all kids but my wife wasn’t happy because I bought bras and under wears for her niece. She said the clothes are fine but I have no right to buy under wears for her. She accused me of sleeping with her niece which is not true. I only did it because this girl was in need of clothes just imagine for 2 years no clothes while she keeps changing our kids wardrobes like every 4-6 months.

I have no intention of sleeping with her niece neither am I sleeping with her. I take her as our first born and am like her father. If I want to cheat on my wife, there are plenty women around me, no way I will stoop so low to sleep with her niece.

I have daughters, sisters and nieces, what I don’t want to happen to my kids then I wouldn’t do it to another person's child. My act was innocent but my wife is angry.

Please be honest with me, was my decision wrong?
Hell no!!! angry

I feel like abusing your wife... She's the abusive type.. For her to ignore her niece, she can ignore her children too when she's broke.

If she can be this wicked to her own niece...I believe she has no human sympathy

With all due respect, even a 2008 Toks Sienna doesn't go for 2.5m

Even the 2008 Toks Nissan Quest with leather seats, reverse camera, power doors, chilling AC and 3 centre DVDs that I have is going for 1.3m!

Maybe OP wants to recoup all he lost during the lockdown...

Abeg free am o...

Who knows, a die hard Nissan fan may buy it at that price....

Thanks this is really useful and justified. The way people condemned V6 engine Minivan with respect to fuel consumption is worrisome.

Please which brand and year of V6 Minivan will you recommend..?

Thinking of buying foreign used and shipping myself ,need useful help with the process.

I appreciate your Suggestions.
For now,Sienna tops the chart...

But if you don't care about brands, you can go for an Hyundai Entourage, Kia Sedona, Nissan Quest from 2008.

Good afternoon
Please I’ve been thinking of the type of car I should buy for a while now..considering I’m not getting a good pay in my current job so I need a car that can help with my movement around and also serve as a side hustle(UBER specifically) with minimal fuel consumption and low maintenance fee...I have Corolla 2005,2006, Matrix 2005 or Camry 2003, 2005, in mind though ..So I humbly require your advice on the type I should go for...my budget is between 800-1.5m

According to what heavenlybang wrote... He said "which Mercedes has never been able to match", not "which "any car" has not been able to match..."

All the cars you listed, the only Mercedes in the list has been tweaked by Brabus so its not an ordinary Mercedes again...

If you have other beefs with heavenlybang, just let us know

damsel143:
Hello guys,

I am excited about this one and happy to share my experience.

I decided to utilize this lockdown well and started my driving lessons.

I have finished the lessons. I learnt both with Automatic and Manual.

Next is registration for Learners permit and buying that L tag.

I was told, I can use the Learners permit for 3 months while processing my driver's license.

I will need advice on insurance. I am aware my company has insurance benefits for car owners, however, I will love to get advice from experienced car owners.

I'm still looking out for a Toyota Yaris (Automatic) to purchase. I was going to purchase a Camry before, but reading the advice here, I will better stick to a Toyota Yaris.

I also need advice or support from any company that helps inspects a car before the purchase is done.

If the pandemic is over, I should be resuming at work in June. I want to resume driving, lol!

Bye-Bye to the daily spending on Uber, Taxify, Indriver, Ocar, Plentywaka, small bus...lol

If anyone has any good deal on a Toyota Yaris, please connect a ready buyer.

Again what will you advise on a Kia Rio (Automatic), 2010 up!
