chukel: You no longer respond well to sourcing car parts. Seems you have zeroed in on car sales as I still have unattended requests and ignored messages. I'm so sorry Oga Chukel. The sellers has been unresponsive, despite going back and forth to their shops. I just had to wait as they advised me to. Once again, I'm so sorry. Na you get this thread na |

Megabig: I’ve been meaning to ask, where is Sowore and his campaign?
I feel duped that I’ve contributed to his campaign at one point and there is nothing to show for it.
Is it that he comes up every 4 years, seek funds, chew our money and then disappears?
What should be done to people like this? I saw his campaign train on ikorodu road today Convoy of about 13 cars including police vans...they no reach 100 |

frprof: 1. My 2004 Ford Freestar has given me so much headache. Now they said it needs an ECU. This is the 4th ECU brought and it did not work. Vehicle is in Enugu while ECU vendor is in Lagos. I have spent so much on way bill in and out.
2. I am now considering an option of taking the risk of ordering an already programmed ECU through Ebay. My challenge is that I have replaced the original transmission the car came with. Would it constitue a problem? Has anyone had such experience or deal to guide me?
3. The Ford Freestar has almost pushed me to fall into the trap of swapping the engine with Toyota 5s with gear. Thank God I have read so many discouraging thread here against engine swap. But I need help please WhatsApp me on the number in my signature |

wirinet: All my cars are manual, it's my wife that drives automatic. I don't feel I am in full control with automatic. You won't be able to change gears as you want |
Car Talk › Re: I Went To Driving School Today And I'm Really Giving Up. by TPound(m): 7:52am On Feb 09, 2023 |
AutoManual: I went to driving school today and meant with the guys there. I told them I want to learn manual. Even when some of them was telling me manual is fading out that majority of people are preferring to learn auto and they said some people who learn manual also came back to learn auto.
My reason was that if I can learn manual I can learn automatic, because I have heard that from people, I choose 5 days learning and they said 30minus & 1 hour has different prices, but I choose the 5 days 30 minutes, although I bargain the price. I filled the form and the driving session started.
Few minutes that we started I already giving up, I feel like not learning again. My concentration was not even there it was tidius to remember all this I need to do. Because I was forgetting all the things the guy told me before we started.
Here are my problem. 1. Understanding the pendel. Little press the car if jecking. When I applied brake it stop sudden and the vehicle will off abruptly. 2. Losing focus and what to do when I'm tens specially when I am approaching junction or a big car. 3. I am more concerned with the cars at my back or around me because I was moving slowly. The guy keep telling me to forget about them and focus on my side. Is document I filled said I will be the one to pay for damages incurred during the session. 3, knowing how and when to change the gear. I haven't mastered it and I feel it's too hard with the calculations. When I was filling the form there was some disclaimer on the document that I will be held responsible for any damages. I also learnt that the break is sometimes press. It was then I understand that the guy can press the brake from his own side of the car. Although I didn't tell him but I know.
Handling the wheel. To make a turn accurately on the road or control the wheel is really off.
Look like driving is really hard with manual
I was saving and planing to buy a Nigeria use car and I was focusing on manual because I heard people saying it easy to maintain but right now with the look of things I don't think I can buy manual again oh.
The two things I thought today while on the wheel is to buy auto and a small car.
Tomorrow I will go there again to learn and keep this thread updated. If you master how to drive manual, I swear you won't want to touch an auto with a six foot pole. Lagosians flee from manual because of traffic...if you are in another state with less traffic, especially travelling, you would love manual. I prefer driving manual than automatic |

Car Talk › Re: I Want To Buy This Car But.... by TPound(m): 6:25am On Jan 31, 2023 |
kekakuz: Hello guys, I have been looking out for a mid level and unique Suv for myself so I saw this ad of Facebook. 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan at an affordable price. I went to meet the seller at his residents.i test drove the car and checked everything. It was so clean and smooth. This car is just exactly what I want for less than 3million. The only problem was that it had no customs paper. He explained that the car was auctioned by an embassy to the person he bought it from. I asked of release paper or receipt of purchase or anything that shows it was bought brand new or was auctioned by the embassy. He made calls but could not provide any. So my people, what do you advise,am not a frequent traveller but instances may arise where I need to make an interstate journey. Also we have these SARS guys always doing random checks. I don't want to have any issues with anyone .is there a way around this, can I still buy it. The SUV is lovely . Some companies that buys their vehicles brand new hardly drop the purchase receipt to whoever buys the vehicles, however, there ought to be a letter headed paper from the company stating they have sold the car to whoever bought it on auction. Besides, if customs stop you on the road and ask for your customs paper, tell them the car is bought brand new. They have a computer they can use to check your chassis number on their system if truly it was bought brand new. |

No they don't and even when they do
Dad will tell them to go and give to your mum
The Dad will never ever ask the mum what she does with the money
So you can drag your children own with your wife
Na you go tire You're getting it all wrong... The bone if contention is that it's not only the mother who single handedly birthed the kids...always remember the father |

Car Talk › Re: Buying A Car In Nigeria by TPound(m): 9:22am On Jan 18, 2023 |
MbakuFromFAD: I remember trying to get a car for a client a few months back, I'd already gone to 3 lots at the time. Then I got to this final lot and saw this really fine red muscle, omooo I was like this client will definitely be interested in this. I sent pictures of the car to the client and client was like wow, the car looks good (Ps: I help people shop cars , so they don't have to go through wahala.) Till I decided to take this car for a test drive, omoo see black smoke and see how the engine was sounding. Buying a car in Nigeria can be hectic especially if it's not tokunbo. There's 3 things you need to understand while buying a car in Nigeria 1. The cars can't be in the best condition you want them to 2. You'll still spend money on repairs unless you don't want the lifespan to span 3. The former owners might not be as careful as you
So noting these three points you really have to always take your own mechanic that you trust along , emphasis on "mechanic you trust" to help you check out how good the car is and how long it'll still last you. Ps : you'll still need to change all the shock absorbers o. Those ones are the first please. If you have other ideas or experiences you can share Ultimate rule... There's no buy and drive vehicle. You buy, fix and use... The ultimate goal is to buy one with minimal repairs. Know this and have peace of mind |
