You might want to check the salaries vs effort. Pharmacy Assistant don’t earn that much in Canada, maybe this is why you are considering tech. There’s a reason why many people are transitioning into tech, and I would encourage you not to give up if you really want to explore it. It is not uncommon to see Pharmacist transition into tech mainly because of flexibility. Good luck.

Happy Sunday Elders,
I recently got ITA in October and I submitted my application earlier this month.
While waiting for approval, I just want to seek advice on landing a job in Canada and settling.
I am single and I am female BTW.

I work as a pharmacy assistant here in Nigeria, I have customer service experience too. I was thinking maybe I should go learn something in tech like data analysis, or is there any advice I can get, what I can learn that can probably make it easy for me to land a good job when I move next year?

Politics / Re: Japa Syndrome: Nigeria’s Political Class Will Face The Consequences Soonest by TPProjectMngr(m): 12:24am On Dec 16, 2023
A good starting point for Nigeria government would be to provide basic amenities. The people relocating now are mostly the middle class, because Japa is definitely not cheap. Many of the people relocating won't mind to stay back in Nigeria if the politician are willing and able to provide the basic things. The real question is do the politicians care about how the citizens feel? If not, then do definitely don't care about any consequences.

Some also believe that they could easily get LMIA sponsored jobs, and covert to work permit from when they land here. Some of the agents selling lies should be dealt with, well we can also blame the victims for not equipping themselves with enough info before making these costly decisions.

Well said . Alot of people without adequate funds are embarking on study visa thinking they will be able to work to gather the balance. In this economy i pity you in advance o.
Travel / Re: More International Students Are Seeking Asylum In Canada, Numbers Reveal by TPProjectMngr(m): 11:40pm On Dec 15, 2023
Study route has always been difficult even when 1CAD was N140, some people that came in as students in the past could have come in as PR if only they did enough research and are patient. Though PR and PNP routes are now challenging due to the high CRS required, I strongly believe that Nigerians should explore these options before deciding on study route.

It is now a common knowledge that schools (NS, NB) have started reducing the number of Nigerians that they accept and I wonder if we are the only ones that still go the expensive route to come to expensive Canada.

Maybe someone can also share with me why they would prefer Study route (without having excess fund available, and still temporary) to PR/PNP route (cheaper and permanent).
Travel / Importance Of Proper Planning As You Think About Relocation In 2024. by TPProjectMngr(m): 6:23pm On Dec 15, 2023
I have read many posts in recent times about the good and bad of relocating to a new country, and I ask myself what could be done to change a bad situation to a good one. Truly the world economy is currently challenging, let no one deceive you that your situation is worse, also in every situation you will continue to see those who are gaining while others are losing.

Migration is as old as human creation, and it will continue to be so. Everyone will always talk about a situation from their own lenses and that might not always be the general situation. Also, many people don’t feel comfortable to share their success but they easily complain when things are hard.

I am saying all of these because I want to remind you that 2024 is another opportunity for you to achieve whatever dreams, goals that you might have. In fact just try, it is better to fail than never starting. Proper planning is required when relocating, and with God on your side; you will succeed.
Things to consider, which country/province/city will help you get to where you are going faster?
Take for example, many people continue to migrate to Ontario as a student because their friends said it is a beautiful province without a clear plan on how they can get their permanent residency.

Some people will not try Manitoba because they heard it is cold, yet they don’t have access to enough fund to live in much more expensive places.

Some people are targeting Canada without knowing the cities where their current skills are in demand neither do they know what is required to up-skill or transition to a new career.

There are others that believe survival jobs are not for them because they have earned some degrees, what they forget is that you are just starting in a new country and sacrifices must be made.

I used Canada as an example but this could also be relocating within Nigeria or to any other country.
Adequate planning, good research and determination is essential for your success in 2024.

You can make it no matter where you are at the current stage. I have heard of many stories of people who had no money and yet their attitude, determination aided their success and today they are also giving back.

This is me telling you that you should forget about the world economy, and people’s story; focus on your life goal and pursue it as if your life depends on it. Share the good news when they start coming.

Lol, abi nah, i like driving and going on adventures. Thanks man

This is lovely. You should be my person hahaha. I have driven Ontario to Manitoba via Trans Canada but I returned via US. You should try the US route too.

Speed limit is higher in US and roads are straight, wide and better. That 90km/ 1 lane road in northern Ontario is frustrating. It sounds like the roads from Manitoba to BC are better since they have higher speed limit? I would also love to see your videos. Good one 🙌

Pls is it a good course to study in canada?

It is a good career to pursue. If you meant study in school, that’s a different conversation. If you are job ready and equipped with the necessary information on how to navigate the PM career path, then you have made a good choice for yourself.

That’s correct. You will need to go for G2 but you don’t have to wait for a year. You can do G2 immediately.

hazel01:
Hello everyone. I learnt one can take the G test after passing G1 test if one has the extract . I would like to know what happens if one fails the G test cos I learnt one can only do it once. Does this mean they have to go for the G2 and wait for a year to attempt again?

I would appreciate a response, thanks a lot in advance

Congratulation on your decision to pursue a career in Project Management. Get the PMP as soon as it is feasible. Your first few months in Canada can be a bit stressful, and you might be tempted to delay getting the PMP. Also, if you are looking into IT, I will also advice you get the CSM or PSM 1 in addition to PMP. You can get PSM 1 done online from Nigeria too.

So10:
Please I'll appreciate some advice

I currently have my PR but I plan to land in three months. Should I hold on until I'm in Canada to do my certification in PMP to give myself time to understand the job market there and move accordingly or do you think I should do it here in Nigeria
