How long does it usually take to receive a final decision from IRCC after biometrics confirmation?

It’s been over two weeks since my biometrics were confirmed, but I haven’t heard back yet. Before this, IRCC asked for an additional document – my sister, who is my primary sponsor, needed to upload her bank statement to show her salary deposits matching her paystub. We uploaded it, and a week later, IRCC confirmed they received the updated document. A few days after that, I received a letter saying my biometrics are valid until a certain date, but still no decision.

Meanwhile, my school reached out to inform me they’re suspending the course I initially applied for, so I needed to pick another program. I selected an IT course, but since my undergraduate degree isn’t IT-related, the school is asking for a resume showing 3 years of IT experience. I only graduated in 2022, so I don’t have quite that much experience yet. I’m hoping if my visa gets approved, having over 2 years of IT experience by then might be enough for the school to reconsider. This IT course is the only realistic option available for the winter term; most other programs, including healthcare ones, are suspended until fall (September).

Now, I’m really confused about what to do next and worried that IRCC might be contacting my school about these recent changes. I was hoping for the visa approval so I could negotiate with the school or explore other options. Someone mentioned that if IRCC requested additional documents, it’s likely a positive sign, as they would have denied it already if it was a no.

For context, my tuition is paid in full, and I have a GIC with 21k CAD. My sister owns a home and my school is in the same city, so she is providing me with accommodation as well. This is my third application since my first two were denied as they were poorly handled by my previous visa officer (a story for another day, hopefully when this application is approved!).

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

Good day everyone, please I want to ask this question for my friend that I got her help from here for the gcms note. She realised the agent didn't submit some documents she sent to him for her application. So now she want to reapply to let them clear all what she got note about. And since she'll have to create a new account with ircc as she can't log into the one the agent used even though she has asked for details regarding the ircc account the agent used but he refused to give her. So now Where or how will she link the previous application to the new one she's about to start. So that they can see she's addressing all what is in the gcms note. Thanks in advance.

Firstly, are you a student in Canada or a visa agent? I don’t think anyone needs to email you because if you are a visa agent misleading people just to get customers for Canada visa processing, you will face the consequences. Many students are struggling in Canada, facing hardships, and even getting a cleaning job is not easy, as many rely on loans to cover their expenses. If you mislead people out of greed, you will face an untimely death.

I know how many times I’ve had to send money to my brother in Canada from Lagos, and he even ended up on the street at one point. Even the few students who are working find it impossible to pay those expensive tuition fees, rent, and still live normally, despite all the hype about Canada. But people like you come online to lie, painting a rosy picture, while many students are looking for help from home. You should be ashamed for creating this false narrative and misleading people. Some parents are online too, and you make it seem like people without jobs in Canada are lazy or picky, when in fact, jobs are very hard to secure and can’t even cover all their bills and school fees without resulting to loan or help from home . I hope those being deceived will land in Canada and face reality! God will surely judge confusionist like you !!

I did upfront medical earlier this week but was asked to do further test to confirm if i have TB. The result will be forwarded to the embassy in 8-10 weeks.

I want to know if this is not a red flag (although o am sure i DO NOT have TB)

Also, can i proceed with submitting my application IRCC even while waiting for the medicals result? I am to resume January 2025.

What’s your say on this please?

I recently got refused a study visa for undergraduate studies at university of prince Edward Island. The reason for the refusal was purely financial and none of the you won't come back things. Particularly from the 220a and 220b section of their IRCC laws sha. So I'm planning on reapplying I was told that I have to write a letter of explanation addressing all the reasons I was refused so I'll do that. My dad took out a yearly loan from one of the hospitals he works with and they agreed to fund him 20 million naira yearly for 4 years at 5% per annum. My parents are also planning on paying the full tuition for a year which would leave about 40 million left in the account for POF as they are my main sponsors. Should my dad write in his sponsor letter the amount he earns yearly on average?, I've already registered my courses would that add to anything?, gurus ant suggestions and advice would be nice thank you. I really don't know how to navigate this thing for real.

I am planning to submit another application. My parents have 50 million naira in bank statement, I just got a sponsor of 10000 pounds from a family friend which isn't available to me but He has printed a bank statement and written a sponsorship letter for me. I also have a letter of good standing for my dad stating it's for my higher education worth 20 million naira a year. I do not exactly have time of excess right now as my school would be starting soon. Do you suggest I get a GIC with 23 million naira out of the bank statement or something else please any advice and suggestions on how I would reapply properly would be highly appreciated

I’m going for a two years course, I have paid tuition of $18,638, and I have the tuition for the next year, including, $20,635 and about 7M is this enough, I’m sponsoring myself!

Hello all, so my friend submitted her application on 9 May and today we received biometrics confirmation letter. (She currently has a visitor visa) Someone said the letter usually comes together with passport request letter. But she only received the biometrics letter, should we assume that the passport request would come later in the day?

In the Application portal. Upfront Medical passed and Eligibility has Already Started, But when I Check my Application Tracker no Medical and Eligibility have not Started. I even waited for few days Hoping that it will Update in the Tracker but till now it has not yet show in the Tracker. Hope nothing is wrong.

Please I really need your Opinions on this.

When I save IMM 1294 on my computer it shows “please wait….”. I do not want to upload it that way to my application because it might not open on their end. Please how do I go about this.

Also, when I print the Family Information Form, the information I typed in the occupation section cuts off. Please how do I handle this too.

You can use the IRCC- application tracker. But first you have to register with the application details. If it was received you will see - We received the documents you sent in there
Does anyone know how I can verify that they got the additional documents I submitted?
