Lets say a department inN uniben want 100 students and a strong man has say 2 slots Ơ̴̴͡Ʊ†̥ of that 100 hence ţћξ admission process would now be based on finding 98 candidates ţћξ strong man can now bring his own candidates(provided they reach th general university qualifications which in unibens case is having an agg of 50 the.Having said that ţћξ best way of securing admission is through ţћξ merit but if sum1 does not meet ţћξ merit n catchment i don't see why u can't ask one of these strong men for help. I already apologised for how i spoke but u made me do that with ţћξ way u suddenly attacked me

ojingbe: how wat deal

Trafford: no mind am.. E no be like no be same exam I write last year.

One thing I noticed was that... Uniben used both screening score n aggregate..
E.g LAW.. I noticed those who scored 60 n above in Screening as well as aggregate were admitted IN tHE MERIT LIST.. Atleast, this I noticed in Edo aspirants...as I was closer to them (I'm a Deltan BTW ) but maybe the general cutoff was 62 or so for other states

while in the 2nd batch, those with 59 downwards in screening but 6O n above as aggregate were admitted to study some specific courses eg Linguistics, pol science edu, Religion, philosophy ,etc..(This applied strictly to Edo, n a few Deltans) I bet local govt was also considered.

It was same with other courses.. As a matter of fact, Uniben Also do look at your local govt when issuing admission.

Let's say use the names of football clubs in place of Local govt.. A. manUtd. B.chelsea

2 players from each club..
ManUtd(van persie, Rooney,)

2players from chelsea(Hazard, lampard)

They all played a competition.. For ManUtd,Rooney scored 7 goals, v.persie scored 6... While for Chelsea, Hazard scored 5 and Lampard scored 4)

lets say they need 2 players to rep England in blah blah competition..

Usually, don't you think they would pick Rooney n Van persie cuz they scored the most goals?

But that would be unfair to Chelsea..right? So here's what they do? They have to pick one from EACH club.. Hence they will pick Rooney who scored 7 and Hazard who scored 5... LEAVING VAN PERSIE WHO SCORED 6!!!

u may say.. But Van Persie scored 6 na..isn't that unfair?no, its not.. And that's where Catchment area comes in... That's where "Federal Character" comes in.

You know..it always hurt when mediocrity is enthroned over meritocrisy..n that's why, with my 58..no admission last year, but hearing someone with 55 getting LAW..I swear..I felt Like laying curses on Uniben..right from the V.C to the lecturers to the staffs..even to the main gate..their chairs..desk..tables..everything!

But for a moment, I stopped, got information..reasoned everything together,understood n tend to be very careful with the next jamb..n odas..n ThAnk GOD for bringing me this far n I believe HE will finish what HE started..

I believe with this, you guys now understand.. So when you see 53 admitted..n 55 not yet admitted..Dont just jump into conclusion it's "runs" (tho' there were such corrupt acts last year..bt e get skul wey no dey do am..? But Thank God, uniben own no too bad.. Go Delsu make u see things).

so When u see such, ask yourself.. "Are we from the same state?" if yes, ask yourself.. "are we from the same local govt?" if yes.. Ask yourself "are we of the same sex?"..(not sure if uniben does the sex thing sha o,but dere are schools that places more relevance female education than male.)

and one thing I must say is..I believe Uniben delibrately made the postume questions "not so difficult" cuz after the Jamb performance, I bet they wanted to boost people's score.. Imagine taking scores like 34..39 to jamb office for admission.. Questions will arise na

and I've said it before..n still saying it again, this year won't be like last year.. Virtually everyone here will be admitted..it all boils down to the course you will be given.

So, watch out for SEPTEMBER 2ND for the Merit List ..no1 told me, strictly based on logistics.

Trafford: Hmmm, just have to make this post about the admission list now as I'm considering taking a break from this page. Well,One thing I realised last year was that Uniben follows same pattern..atleast for the past recent years.

Like you all are anxiously awaiting the list now, it's been done before. N during my time last year, this same worries y'all havin now prompted me to do a lil research, just to atleast have a lil conjecture on the whole issue.

After the first batch was released, I discovered (you may say) Uniben's strategy of releasing admission lists. I kinda compared that year 2012 to the one of 2011. Sorry, I cant go into all that now...can't even remember the dates.. Lemme just be straight here.

One thing I discovered was that Uniben always take an interval of about 1 month before releasing any list.

Firstly; last year,2012.. Jamb was conducted March 24th..if I remember correctly, after the Month of April&May.. Postume was conducted in June.. June 15&16 to be precise.

10days later, (June 26) the Postume results were released.

After the month of July.. The merit list came in August (August2/3)..it came on the 2nd, but most peeps didnt really know till on the 3rd.

Again, after the month of September, the 2nd batch came in October...October 1st(Independence day) to be precise.

And Again, after the month of November, the 'hidden 3rd batch' came in December... December 2nd&5th to be precise.. Dont wanna go into that particular list 4now,So much controversy surrounding it.. Till when time comes.

This year, Uniben seem to be following same pattern.

Jamb was conducted April 27th. After the month of May&June, postume was conducted in July...July 13..as you all know.
(tho' one thing you should consider is that postume is conducted before the 2nd semester exams)

10days later, July 23rd.. Postume results were released.

Do I need to say the merit list would be released September 2nd... And the 2nd batch released in the first week of November?

You know.. I used the one of 2011 to ascertain the one of 2012 & the one of 2012 now in ascertaining the one of 2013..and so far, it's been..(you may say) a 100% correct
Tho' the one of 2011 was really rough..thats y I'm not going into that.

So you see.. I knew all dez..dat's while I never worried abt wen Uniben postume wud be conducted, always knew it was gonna be Mid-July & july 13th it was.

N I knew for sure, the results wud be released July 23rd, thats why I never bothered.. I always laughed whenever I came here to read your predictions.. I found them hilarious! Just one guy(cant rememba his username) said it'll be on Tuesday(July 23rd)

I didn't have a nairaland account then. Would've informed you guys to save you the stress.. So when I say the List would be out 1st week of September (sep 2nd) U'd believe me...& now I'm saying that to save you the stress.

I'd even give you the exact time you may check you kofa page if you want me to.. But Nah, I'll be going too far. So till september 2nd, but if it does come earlier, then it's cuz of the strike.. Guess they got 'less busy' .. But sep 2nd it shall be.

N Yea, feel free to bookmark this page, as a matter of fact.. Do it! So you may mock me if it doesn't come out first Week of september.

will catchment is 67.
Then i called my guy who told me that is gonna inqury frm a med and surg admission officer tomorrow.
My prayer is that he tells him otherwise.
And frm d same vrnd he said rumours going around d skul is that admission list will cumup nextweek(nt sure of that sha).so pls us in prayer so that d cuttoff for merit will b lyk 66 or below pls o.this ia frm a trusted source o.cant just get my self*sobing*
