desy24444:I got it from the county’s (Fulton in our case) vital records office two weeks postpartum as advised by the hospital birth records clerk. I believe you can get it earlier but I guess the two weeks is just to be sure it will be ready when you go. |

Update to this... DW and I welcomed our baby boy in the first week of November at Emory University Hospital , Midtown Atlanta as initially planned. Summary of how it all went. Re-applied and got October 3rd as the earliest date for interview, efforts to get a closer date proved abortive even with agents. So I had to take excuse from my training to make it there for the interview and then back to PH on the next flight after Interview. Interview transcript (VO was a black guy and he had actually approved like three persons while we were there) DW and Me : Good morning VO: Good morning , your passports please VO: Why are you going to the US? DW: To birth our first child He was reading on the computer for like a minute VO: Let's try to unpack this, I will ask you a couple of questions and then we will see. VO: (Facing me) , where do you work ? Me: I work at xxxx VO: How long have you been with them Me: 8 years going on 9 VO: Do you have Hospital/Doctor's correspondence? DW and Me: Yes ,we do and payment receipt too (Passes them to him) VO: (Facing me) What countries have you been to? Me: UK, Turkey ,Kenya, UAE ,France and Netherlands VO: Interesting VO: And when last did you travel as a couple? DW and Me : We were in London and Turkey last August till first week in September VO: Okay (Facing DW) , why did you apply to Canada Ma'am? DW: For visit VO: Who do you know in Canada DW: Friends VO: Okay, I'm reading through your history now and it doesn't make sense to me why you were called back the last time.Well ,I am going to approve your visa now and I can assure you won't be called back this time (Now , that was peaceful to hear ...lol) VO: What they say is true , avoid discounts that may affect your future renewal.Take this pink slip and go over there to pay your reciprocity fee and drop your passports. You can pick up next week, have a safe delivery DW and Me: Thank you POE DW flew Delta to ATL the following week @35weeks (We got fit to fly but they did not even ask to see it according to her) with wheelchair service at POE. Just few questions about her trip and got stamped for 6months .No luggage check I joined her 12 days later after my training and POE was also smooth for me.Just that the Inspection guys checked my bags for few minutes. Accommodation We rented Airbnb apartments for the whole 10 weeks stay Documentation Special thanks to @TripleKMama for being there whenever I had questions, since we used the same hospital. Most of the information regarding Emory and documentation has already been highlighted by her on this thread. In addition , a friend sent me this too. " US Passport Application 1. At the hospital, you will be required to fill a document requesting the newborn baby's birth certificate and social security number 2. Pick up birth certificate from the county 3. Book an appointment at the Atlanta passport office (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/get-fast/passport-agencies/atlanta.html) 4. Take a passport picture of baby For further information, see: https://www.path2usa.com/applying-for-us-passport-for-newborn-in-us " The links were helpful. Applied for Nigeria Visa through OIS Atlanta for $180 with UPS next day delivery envelope ($75),visa approved after 7 working days (December rush). Now back in Nigeria to celebrate the season with family and friends that have been waiting to meet our bundle of joy. Thanks to everyone with advice and kind words the last time,we are grateful. Wishing you guys success in your application and the subsequent trip. God makes everything beautiful in His time Merry Christmas and a very happy new year in advance trakos: 11 Likes |

babasanti: I dont know who you are, but a sane person will know these stuffs are not rubbish,They are just bitter truth. From your reply,it seems you are doing so good that you dont see what is happening to millions around you.Personally ,I can afford things too,I am doing so good but I cant overlook the pains our people feel. My people will say,One rich man amidst 6 poor ones is as good as poor too.am not saying everyone would/should be rich, but we have the resources to all enjoy some amenities. And we all deserve this good life Who knows, maybe @babasanti is just one of the masses still blind to the truth and living in penury.May God help us all P.S : Please listen to "It's about that time" by Timaya ft 2Face |

Firstly, let me say Rest In Peace to the dead.I hope he spent his last days pleasing God I cant stop thinking about these so called Politicians and Public office holders,do they really think about life at all Someone loots/steals public fund, take it abroad to hide. What if while coming back his plane crashes, who will live to own that money in the bank. These monies are enough to give us good roads, good basic amenities, put our hospitals in good shape and well equipped. Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha, an ex-governor of Bayelsa state died in University of Portharcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) ,the same hospital we have heard to be in bad state in recent times. Maybe they would have been able to save his life if they had world class medical facilities ,just maybe. But instead of developing their own country in terms of these facilities, they take the monies abroad. You were a governor for just a few years, you could steal money to go hide abroad, but you could not build a state of the heart hospital in the state you governed.Maybe that would have given you a chance to live longer, maybe there wouldn't have been any need transporting you to yet another substandard hospital in a neighboring state. Money cant buy life, let us always remember that. To my fellow Nigerians, maybe it's time to wake up.These people are not called to deprive us of good living ,so many accidents could be avoided if the roads are good. I lost a friend recently due to accident on a bad road, maybe he wouldn't have left that soon if the roads were better. What is wrong with these people Remember you will not always have that time to be flown abroad,it takes 5/6 hours to get to London. Why not make Nigeria your America,Make Nigeria your UK. Am just weak thinking about all these GodBlessNigeria 5 Likes |

exactly what i was arguing with my friends(Christ Embassy members) the other day.sorry to mention the church. But i think it's what are meant to believe that if you don't speak in tongues, you are not a christian. Infact,i referenced the same verse above that day.My point was meade known to them though, that they speak in tongues does not mean they are more spiritual than who does not.God know the level at which each of us operate in the spiritual realm. |

Car Talk / Cause Of Steering Vibration by trakos(m): 11:31am On Dec 04, 2012 |
Hello fellow nairalanders Please i need your advice based on past experience.i bought my 2007 Toyota Camry SE in April this year(just 8months) it was very clean nd in good condition.after a while,i discovereded the steering vibrates while braking down from high speed (above 100km/h).i was told it could b d wheel alignment,so i went for the alignment.the vibration persist for some time, then i was not feeling vibration as before again, though not completely gone.due to the low nature of camry, the car hit d ground on one bad road last week after which i started feeling the vibration but this time,it was so much. The guy that drove the car back home also confirmed it cos then,i was on my way to d airport.i will be back home tomorrow, and i will like to have an idea of the cause before taking it to mechanic,u know these people can tell you what is not. Please feel free to make comments, really need them |

Car Talk / Common Mistakes Nigeria Drivers Make by trakos(m): 1:59pm On May 28, 2012 |
It is my wish that everyone driving knows what they are supposed to do at evry point in time.I have heard few persons say nigeria drivers just move cars, they dont drive. This is because some mistakes in driving are now being taken as a norm in this part of the world and for real, many drivers did not actually go through proper training and thus they do not know the rules. Here is an avenue for you to state one or more mistakes you normally observe from your co drivers on the road and what you think should be the right way. I get a question for you first If you are about to drive through a narrow path and there is an oncoming vehicle coming opposite you to ply the same route, assuming the oncoming driver flashes you ,is he telling you to come while he stop for you or vice versa? i have seen this cause an issue on the road before. Let's keep it rolling |
