it will be a two edged case for admission seekers in Nigeria if this information is genuine.It all depend on schools.
i said this because P-UME has helped many to gain admission and it has also deprived some of the admission.I passed ume in 2006 &2007 with score 233 and 254 respectively but i was never given admission,not even another course.these two occassions in FUTA,i passed their P-UME with the score 53% and 70% respectively as engineering candidate.i later heard that some candidate who scored less was admitted due to one connection or the other.They made a lot of money all in the name of POST-UME.
Thank God i did 2007 MPCE which gave me admission to FED POLY ILARO after a conc post-PCE.Now doind elect/elcet engineering down here.
it will be better if they start using UME for admission directly

that guy dey tell us the truth as for engineering courses because i was able to confirm some of the cut-off at the school yesterday.am a mechanical engineering candidate but couldn't meet their cut-off cos i score 66.75%.i also got a clue for those with microbiology.i dont really know the cut-off but it should between 60-65%.this is because a friend of mine said her department(applied geology) cut-off is 62%.so,other courses in the SCHOOL OF SCIENCE might definitely fall in this range especially biochemistry and microbiology but mind you,computer science is 70%.i am tryin to change my course to either of GEOPHYSICS or PHYSICS ELECTRONICS but i heard that is not easy to change course in the school.i gave a particular man my credentials b4 i leave the school today with the hope of getting one of the courses.
moreover,i called ASUU CHAIRMAN FUTA CHAPTER who told me thier PDS students passed beyond their expectation.consequently,there will be a very limited place for UME candidate.he told me that even if my name is going to be shortlisted,it wiill definitely not be the first list.am just praying now for the man to get my case done.the school no dey easy at alllllllllllll.anyway,i have to accept my new admission to FED POLY ILARO(elect/elect) so as not to loose in two ways.08058102480

jamb 254/8= 32
post jamb 70/2=35

actual score 35+32=67%
but i call a woman who is in information and protocol office yesterday.she told me they have enough high marks and for this reason they are going to cut 80% for some engineering courses.
i dont how sure she is but have been so worried since that yesterday.anyway, am going to the school next tuesday to see things myself cos i was told we are resuming on NOV 5

let ur friend tell us full details for all courses for the benefit of other members.above all,ask him how sure he is.

how do u mean by this statement?i was in FUTA last year for a POST-UME but couldnt gain admission to ELECT./ELECT with 53%.i tried to change my course to one of GEOLOGY,GEOPHYSICS,INDUSTRIAL CHEM & INDUSTRIAL MATHS but all my effort was in vain.i scored 254 for this year UME with FUTA again as my 1st choice but MECH. ENGR. dis time because the former is highly competitive.i am expecting the POST-UME result to come out now but i have another option of THE FED. POLY,ILARO(ELECT./ELECT) which is the course that my heart desire.
I need your advice.if the two admission click,which one should i stick to?08058102480

IMPORTANT NOTICE

All candidates who obtained application forms for admission to degree programmes in Osun State University are requested to note the following:

1. There will be a screening exercise for ALL candidates between the 8th and the 11th of August, 2007.

2. Candidates are to complete an online biodata form and upload their passport photographs between Wednesday, July 25th and Tuesday, July 31

3. The passport photograph uploaded by a candidate will be embossed on his or her student ID card when admitted into UNIOSUN and on the certificate upon graduation.

4. An acknowledgment slip indicating a special number for each candidate and the location where the screening will be conducted will be generated upon successful completion of the online registration.

5. Candidates are to bring the acknowledgement slip to the venue of the screening.

6. Candidates without the acknowledgement slip will NOT be admitted into the venue for the screening.

They have been selling the form since APRIL 14 and it will soon stop(JUNE 12).They have even sold more than 40000 form because my own form number is 36632 and i got the form two weeks ago.all u need to do is to pay a non-refundable fee of #3000 to any of these banks skye.uba,first,oceanic,wema.the bank will give u the account no.you will then take the paid-in teller to their office in lagos or abuja or to the ministy of education oshobgo for the collection of form.this is their lagos office.no 53,remi fani kayode str. off oduduwa way,ikeja GRA LAGOIS

it is a very good decision to convert polytechnics into universities.but my question has not been answered fully.yabatech is not in 2007/2008 jamb ume brochure except in education courses.for people who want to do engineering or other courses,are they going to sell FORMS?

please,i will like to know what is going on about YABATECH case.is it now a university?if yes,i will like to know their mode of admission this year.is it going to be FORM or through poly jamb again.

please give me some information on that diploma programme including the fees because i may also put in for it.

i don check my futa admission status with the result no admission offered yet.i dont really know which step to take.am in FUTA right now.

u people(returning student) are expected to resume on october 30 while freshers are expected to resume on november 06.

i need to know if there is any information for the incoming fresh student.i checked the web but nothing new was there.am not getting any information about the fresh student.pleas do u know anything abt this?
