mrvitalis:It was military administrators at the time so all the politicians u are mentioning were focused on winning their election and didn’t have influence to push others along. The people that had little influence were the likes of Marshal Harry because they were at the Party leadership in the State. It was that influence that he used to make way for Odili by scheming to have entrenched politicians like Sergeant Awuse disqualified before the primaries. |
mrvitalis:Shut up and stop spreading misinformation. Wike neither knew Amaechi nor Odili before he won his election to become Obio Akpor Chairman and John Mbata your expertriate Ohaneze president NEVER made him Chairman. John Mbata was contesting for senate at the time and also from same LGA and they were in same camp. Wike himself has acknowledged that Mbata CONTRIBUTED to his political development but it doesn’t mean he made him Chairman. The most singular contributor to Wike becoming Chairman was the late Chief Omunakwe Nsirim (OCC) who not only had the money but also respect of people like Marshal Harry that were running the show in the State PDP at the time. Odili himself couldn’t even influence anything until he was sworn in as governor. |
mrvitalis:Wike was not just a Local Government Chairman..he was the chairman of all chairmen and the best performing chairman at the time as well as a grass root mobilizer. Amaechi was Speaker at the behest of his then godfather Peter Odili. Amaechi contested for House of Assembly seat same time Wike contested for chairmanship but Amaechi lost while Wike won his own election. Amaechi was to go to the house later through the election tribunal judgement based purely on technicality and not votes cast. I know the full details of what transpired behind the scene but would rather not say it here. When the party chairman of the guy that defeated Amaechi went to the tribunal to testify against his own party member that won the election, and later got rewarded with an appointment by then Gov Odili, then you should have an idea of what I mean. You can’t compare Wike’s electoral sagacity and grassroots politics with that of Amaechi. I hope the two of them find a way to make peace and bury the hatchet. |
The state of emergency actually helped him remain as governor. The supreme court’s judgment castrated him and rendered him politically impotent. By now he would have been impeached if not for the State of Emergency. You people should just let the man be and stop misleading him. |
BafanaBafana:I think that should even be encouraged so that people would not be seeing political offices as too hierarchical which defeats the purpose of seeking for political positions. |
flokii:That is the way Nigerians look at political offices because they don’t see it as opportunity to serve. I remember when the former British Prime Minister John Major was staging to contest as Mayor of London after serving as Prime Minister because the Tories were looking for who would show strongly on the ballot against the then Mayor Ken Livingston. Even just this Week the former Governor of New York State Andrew Cuomo was defeated at the Primary as he was contesting to become the Mayor of the City of New York. To Nigerians it’s always about the position and not the purpose of being in the position the reason it would be seen as some sort of demotion. |
rinzaugustine:U can make whatever insinuation you like if it makes you sleep well. |
rinzaugustine:Read the statement below. They refused to give their names when approached so the case was filed against ‘unknown persons’ illegally occupying the property with a ‘known address’. This is not the first case to have proceeded without having knowledge of the name of the other party
|
DIVINEEVIDENCE:Do you even know what that means? Your Kanu is certainly going to Jail. There’s enough evidence to convict him so stop hallucinating. The question is for how long? My prediction is between 25 years to life imprisonment if not death penalty. The government will then listen to pleas from various quarters and then commute or reduce the sentence. It’s hard to hear but be ready to accept reality. |
Abaki5:“The driver’s account” Read again oga |
No part of Anambra would like to be carved into a new State with any part of IMO or any other SE State with a different name. They see it as a kind of demotion. Igbo people will hardly unite on the area where the new state in their region will encompass. The only way they will unite is for a State from another man’s land like Anioma to be created and included with them. |
justified007:Go and sit down with your cock and bull. Elected by who? You people with your Nnah mehn were everywhere bandying Ikwerre people’s names all over the place that know absolutely nothing about what your Ohaneze was doing. Wike’s name was even mentioned as supporting a candidate. It was all fairy tale otherwise show us where he declared that he was interested. We know that Igbo people were desperately shopping around so I won’t be surprised if he was approached, just like some other Ikwerre people, before you hit the jackpot with the business man expatriate John Mbata that can’t even attend his own immediate family meeting again in Eneka anymore. |
Kc3000:You just reminded me of ‘comical Ali’ Saddam Hussein’s information minister. Even when everyone could see the allied forces bombarding Baghdad just 100 meters from the presidential mansion, he said it was just some Iraqi military men doing training. Oga just accept reality and move on. Everyone must not be Igbo. |
ysth:Start by telling us why Igbo delegates supported Atiku and Igbo people expected Wike to support PitObi. |
DomPerignon:You see, the problem with them is that they think they are smart and everyone around them is foolish but what they call smartness is dishonesty, insincerity, deception and craftiness. They end up being the foolish ones. Before the APC primaries, they were thinking that Amaechi would become the party flag bearer so what did they do? On every Igbo platform and even here on nairaland, they started pushing out and propagating that incident where Amaechi told their Ohaneze president at the event in Abia State that he is not Igbo but a proud Ikwerre man. They were doing that to undermine and demonized him so that their people would not vote for him since they never see beyond ethnicity. Immediately Tinubu won, they stopped pushing that story and expected him to support PitObi. Even at the PDP primaries, Anambra delegates voted Atiku 100%, most Imo delegates voted Atiku and no one made noise about it, no one was called a betrayal or traitor. But Kano and some other States in the North and South West gave Wike 100% of their votes. Later the people whose main hobby is to insult and disparage Wike started singing “Support your BROTHER PitObi” and when Wike did not, we started hearing betrayal, hatred and all what not. All the Ikwerre is Igbo noise is not that the bitter and hateful people believe so, love or ever want to see Ikwerre person progressing nationally but it’s all about their Biafra so that they can claim that Portharcourt and Rivers State is their territory and nothing more. Let them continue fooling themselves but they can’t fool anyone else. |
When Amaechi was addressed as “Our Igbo son” in Abia State by the then Ohaneze president Joe Irukwu, during the reception in honour of Arunma Oteh, he promptly took the mic and said “I am a proud Ikwerre son and not Igbo. This was over 15 years ago. At a radio Station in Lagos when he was governor, he was asked if he was Igbo and he said No. Igbo people continued to call him an Igbo man so when he was campaigning for Buhari against Jonathan he used that advantage to tell the crowd that he was more Igbo than Jonathan and Igbo people started cheering him. Is there any where in the world where someone would overnight say he belongs to an ethnicity that he never identified with and then you take that as indelible fact? Only Igbo people would see someone whose mother, father, none of the siblings is Igbo but assume that person can become Igbo overnight. If this is not stupidity of the highest order then I don’t know what it is. |
gidgiddy:The cry of a gidiggidy! Cry more….
|
Anselemchi:What is Igboid and what is Igbo? Ikwerre is not Etche and vice versa. Ikwerre don’t “enthrone and worship amadioha” whatever you mean by that. Amadioha is an Etche and not Igbo deity. Amadioha has been in existence long before Igbo was created less that 150 yeas ago as an ethnicity. U are in no position to tell anyone who they are unless you are not mentally OK. Live and let others live peacefully |
LegendHero:It was actually a ploy by the guy and Fubara to get Igbo votes and support because of their fight with Wike. That PG thing was purely political. It was so glaring but don’t know how the Igbos will be so desperate as to overlook the fact. How would they wake up overnight and think they can force their identity on Ikwerre people… |
jmoore:Don’t worry ona go dey alright las las That your PG will still tell you when the time comes that he accepted the contract out of pity for the Igbos By the way where has he been since ona begged him to take the position? |
jaxxy:Abeg show us the picture where he rolled on the floor for Patience Jonathan to make him governor? You people just sit down and fabricate stories. The Jonathans needed someone that could fight a sitting governor and hold Rivers State for them and Wike stepped forward. Abeg mek ona rest! |
SmartPolician:Did u actually read the story? The guys were actually taken to court by the Federal Government as they used their positions to carry out fraudulent activities. Read it again but this time, very slowly so u don’t type nonsense again. |
I reserve my comment on what I think is going on…. Remember Wike promised and gave Obi logistics support for his campaign… I like to read between lines. The game is the GAME. |
DMerciful:I think ona say Wike pursued him like rabbit out of PDP so how the yegeyege Pitobi go do the resurrection when Nyerishi with morale still dey grand? |
Accuser of the brethren |
I would really love to have a piece of this cake mehn. I hope they make the sale public. |
Yorubaskullmine:So Obi is “more intellectually sound” than Soludo? E be like that Hero beer don finally take all the space inside your body. Shę na you be dis?
|
Agbegbaorogboye:Lolz The media chat has been scheduled for over two weeks and the PDP meeting happened just yesterday. Oga go find another gossip |
Mathewrichard99:Your narrative doesn’t fit. The guy wasn’t ‘sponsoring” terrorism but rather, doing “business” with a known sponsor of terrorism. There’s a law against doing business with terrorists or their sponsors and such transactions MUST be reported to the authorities. The guy knew that his client has link to terrorists and having known that, he engaged a third party for advice and then, did not follow the advice that was given to him. He was looking more at the money to be made regardless of what the law says. |
bigpicture001:Prosecuting, Lyndon Harris told the court: “There is one discussion where Ojiri is party to a conversation where it is apparent a lot of people have known for years about [Ahmad's] terrorism links.” He also said: “Ramp Gallery engaged a third party to advise on compliance matters,” but added that the advice was “not properly acted on.” |
ecolime:It was actually after Kanu placed that muuumu bounty on Wike, that he decided to flush the ipob sw1nes totally and completely out of Rivers State with immediate alacrity. Wike had declared one fellow from Eleme who was said to be causing trouble in the area wanted with a N50 million reward for useful information, so the idiotic Cownu claimed Wike as the sitting governor of Rivers State had no right to declare a ‘biafRAT’ wanted and reciprocated by placing a bounty on Wike’s head. Non of his Igbo people whether old or young condemned him at the time. |
