Google Play store is one major platform that has completely changed how people connect with each other and entertain themselves. If you are a Play store user you probably have an idea what I am talking about here. Play store has got almost all sorts of apps and games stored in it. Productivity/social networking apps, interactive games, and books are just a few things that almost all Android users prefer to get from the Play store. Keeping the demand in mind, the US-based search engine giant Google has planned a few changes in the Play store. The changes would actually be heads-up for the developers. Moreover, the changes are planned to secure apps and protect Android users from any virus attack. The changes are scheduled for somewhere around the mid of 2018 and would probably make serious amendments on the development, use, and promotion of the Android apps. So let us read out what Google is planning to change in the play store. Three Way Changes Planned for Google Play store in 2018 API Optimization: The very first change that Google has planned for play store in 2018 is the requirement of all new apps and updates to meet the recently announced Android API Level. The move is again focused towards securing the apps, as well as ensuring the safety of respective users. Under the new guidelines, the new apps are required to be API optimized by August 2018, while the old apps are provided with a buffer period of November 2018. Nevertheless, Play store apps will definitely become more secure and safe to use by the end of 2018. 64-Bit Support: Google thinks that 64-bit apps are better performing apps. So developers have to bring out 64-bit support for their app which they can utilize either with 64-bit code alongside 32-bit code in the same APK, or can also have the various APK’s published. This change will take place in the August of 2018. The 64-bit support was first introduced in Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. Security Metadata: Beginning from 2018, Google will enhance the security measure by adding metadata to APKs. The metadata will ensure the user of an app being passed by Google following a series of tests. Developers have no role to play in this specific change. Google will auto modify Play store without hampering the functioning of any app. This announcement by Google follows Apple’s decision to drop the 32-bit application bolster in iOS 11. The company made the 64-bit code for iOS applications compulsory in February 2015. The search engine company has been working really hard to improve the experience for Android users. With the new changes planned for 2018, it is hoped that Android users will feel more secure and safe to use apps from the Play store than ever before. We will have to wait until 2018 to see what Play store has in store for Android users. The 2018 year is also likely to witness the release of many smart devices with Android OS. The changes planned for Play store may help Google reap a lot of profits. https://www.techcoffees.com/google-notice-4-app-developers/ |
