A Facebook user identified Chris Uche taken to the platform to accuse billionaire wife, Regina Daniels of planning something terrible against her hubby, Ned Nwoko.

https://www.akinblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/regina-daniels-and-ned-nwoko.jpg

According to Chris, Regina just married Ned Nwoko for his money and she is doing everything possible to abort the child she is carrying, because she doesn’t want to raise kids for him.

Chris‘ allegations came after he saw some photos of Regina Daniels working out at the gym. According to Chris, Regina Daniels doesn’t want the baby she’s carrying for Ned Nwoko, that’s why she’s doing such a stressful excercise.

Chris said he doesn’t understand what a pregnant woman would be doing in the gym when she knows she stands a risk of losing her baby if she stresses herself at this time.

He wrote….

“Regina just wanted to force that baby out…she knows what it is doing. She doesn’t want to be pregnant for that man but just married to enjoy the money. If you abort that baby with that exercise, i will pray for God to take your life with that innocent baby”.

CrimeSee The First Person To Be Sentenced To Death In Singapore Via ZOOM Call by Transparent(op): 6:21pm On May 20, 2020
A man has been sentenced to death in Singapore via a Zoom video call in the country’s first case where such a decision has been delivered remotely.

https://www.akinblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/See-The-First-Person-To-Be-Sentenced-To-Death-In-Singapore-Via-ZOOM-Call.jpg

Court documents on Wednesday revealed that Punithan Genasan, a 37-year-old Malaysian, received the sentence on Friday for his role in a 2011 heroin transaction, with the country under strict lockdown to halt the spread of Coronavirus.

“For the safety of all involved in the proceedings, the hearing for Public Prosecutor v Punithan A/L Genasan was conducted by video conferencing,” a spokesperson for Singapore’s Supreme Court said in response to Reuters’ questions, citing restrictions imposed to minimise the spread of the virus.

It was the first criminal case where a death sentence was pronounced by remote hearing in Singapore, the spokesperson added.

Genasan’s lawyer, Peter Fernando, said his client received the judge’s verdict on a Zoom call and was considering an appeal.

While Rights groups have criticised the use of Zoom in capital cases around the world, Fernando said he did not object to the use of video-conferencing for Friday’s call because it was only to receive the judge’s verdict with no further legal arguments to be heard.

“Singapore’s use of the death penalty is inherently cruel and inhumane, and the use of remote technology like Zoom to sentence a man to death makes it even more so,” said Phil Robertson, deputy director of Human Rights Watch’s Asia division.

PoliticsCoronavirus: Nigerians Blast Buhari Govt As Chinese Doctors Turn Engineers by Transparent(op): 3:13pm On May 20, 2020
Nigerians on social media have blasted the Federal Government for allegedly deceiving the people on the real mission of the 15 Chinese that arrived the country on April 8, 2020.

https://www.akinblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Just-Inn-Chinese-Medical-Team-Arrives-Nigeria-1.jpg

They cried out that the 15 Chinese that arrived on the account of providing medical advice to the country in the fight against coronavirus now do the work of engineers.

The Chinese on arrival in Nigeria were received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by the Minister of Health on the account that they were coming in to help Nigeria fight the coronavirus pandemic.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and PTF Chairman, Boss Mustapha, explained that the Chinese doctors were here in advisory and capacity building roles.

But during one of the PTF’s press briefing, Dr Ehanire had disclosed that some of the Chinese who came into Nigeria are technicians of CCECC.

On their actual mission in the country, Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on his part, told Nigerians that the persons he described as ‘Chinese medical team’ are working at isolation centres in the country in building and setting up equipment.

And just yesterday, while speaking during Tuesday’s press briefing of the PTF, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola said that the doctors are in the country to help in “building and equipping” COVID-19 isolation centres.

Nigerians are wondering how the medical doctors are gradually becoming civil engineers.

Here are some opinions shared in Twitter by angry Nigerians as gathered by us:

@Nemefrank, “They called them medical doctors initially, before they came into the country, that was NMA was fighting it. Now medical doctors are building isolation centers for us.

@Akinduludeniza1, “To think they told us they were doctors. The problem is the govt know we are stupid people.”

@alan_dolla, “In fact I was not surprised… When I saw Airpeace fly to China to bring this so doctor I know it was a big lie. If Chinese govt wanted to help they’ll come with their flight. Politicians already sold this country to Uganda

@egrego, “From the above explanation, who the heck called them medical experts? Either our government officials don’t know the real jobs of these ‘experts’ or there is more than meets the eyes. More keys to the puzzle coming.”

@BenjaminIchech18, “The medical personnel ‘are now not guests of the Federal Government but CCECC, a construction company.’ You guys are taking us all as fools in this country. But one day we shall rise to destroy all those liar’s in Aso rock.”

@Emmanuel41720182, “According to him the Chinese experts came into Nigeria on a 30-day visa on April 8th and are still in the country because there is a restriction on travel occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic. He forgot that on April 8th when they arrived travel restrictions were already in place.”

@de0deomson, “I don’t know whether to laugh or cry for these government officials with their contradictory comments.”

@AdebisiAdebuso, “Presently I am crying in my heart, the leaders we have now are harbouring evil for us in this nation.”

@Starlight5835, “Useless people, how can they say they don’t know their whereabouts, what if they came to release some kind of modified virus in the air? People are dying nowadays, do the maths. They are not here for something good. Nigerians we should be talking, this politicians are killing us.”

@TracyNnabuko882, “But from the same government, the Minister of health said he does not know their whereabouts. Now this, joke of a nation.”

@SaintDenix, “They are not a guest of the federal government but yet the health minister went to welcome them at the airport. Some thing isn’t just adding up … I have given up hope on this country a long time ago .. this is not even a country ..a bunch of clowns running things.”

@SNOkolo, “Our govt. woke up one day & said they are bringing Chinese medical experts. That was their exact words. Nigerians cried out that they don’t need extra medical experts. Today, same govt. Says they are now Engineers and our fake and defeated media won’t still ask d right question.”

PoliticsNigerians To Start Renting Cooking Gas Cylinders – FG by Transparent(op): 12:42pm On May 15, 2020
The Federal Government on Thursday announced that it was creating micro-distribution centres where users of cooking gas would access the commodity at affordable rates and rent cylinders.

https://www.akinblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Gas-cylinder.jpg

It also disclosed that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and other oil marketers would start installing Compressed Natural Gas pumps at filling stations in order to make Nigerians shift from the use of petrol to the CNG in automobiles.

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, who disclosed these in Abuja, also declared that the downstream oil sector had been deregulated.

The Group Managing Director, NNPC, Mele Kyari, also disclosed that the COVID-19 pandemic had stalled the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery.

Sylva said government was trying to direct Nigerians from the use of kerosene to cooking gas, which was why it had started rolling out measures to achieve this target.

He said:

“Today the reason why people cannot really use gas or why the penetration is low is because the initial capital outlay in using gas is quite high to the ordinary man.

“So what we are doing is to try and see how people can have access without necessarily investing all that money upfront.”

He added:

“With this we believe that gas will now begin to compete with other cooking fuels, because today the advantage that kerosene has over gas is that if you don’t have the money to buy a litre of kerosene, you can buy a bottle or half a bottle.

“But when we roll out this programme, gas will become more affordable and we believe that a lot more people will use gas.”

He further noted that in the LPG policy of government, the plan was to set up 32,000 micro distribution centres cooking gas across the country, which would see the engagement of 5,000 workers.

Sylva said the government was seriously pushing for the use of the CNG in cars instead of the continued use of petrol.

HealthWhy Will You Force Me To Take A Vaccine? – Oyedepo Reacts To COVID-19 Cure by Transparent(op): 11:05am On May 14, 2020
Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, has kicked against the bill to make COVID-19 vaccines compulsory in Nigeria.

https://www.akinblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Oyedepo-1.jpg

We had reported that the bill was co-sponsored by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, Reps Pascal Obi, and Tanko Sununu.

Gbajabiamila’s Bill has since generated a lot of controversies, with critics saying that some of the provisions in the bill appear “draconian.”

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) had also alleged that lawmakers had been offered $10million to pass the Bill.

Speaking at the Church communion live broadcast, Oyedepo said gang-up agents of the devil were trying to bring a flood of evil upon humanity.

He further stated that something evil was being schemed by some individuals and that people perpetrating it don’t know why.

He said,

“You must take a vaccine! Why will you force me to take a vaccine? For what?

“You don’t take vaccines, you don’t go outside the country! How? Where is it coming from?

“Evil scheming of evil men, gang up of agents of the devil, trying to bring a flood of evil upon humanity.

And now from the vaccine: autism; from the vaccine: higher mortality rate of deaths.”

The cleric, however, maintained that anything that troubled God’s agenda will be troubled, adding that his outcry over the closure of churches was for the kingdom of God.

“It’s over!! Whatever troubles God’s agenda will be troubled. The most valuable asset to God is human life.

“If you see me screaming and crying: it’s for the Kingdom, absolutely so. You mean you keep God’s people, block their access to spiritual food for 4 weeks, 5 weeks, 6 weeks, 7 weeks and you are going to the market, buying and eating with 10 fingers. You kept students from school.

“This is an imported virus, how has it become our own? Why must we now have it?

“There is something going on here! Something evil is being schemed by some individuals and those who are perpetrating it don’t even know,” he further stated.

CrimeUNIJOS Student Allegedly Killed By Soldiers For Violating Lockdown Order by Transparent(op): 10:54am On May 14, 2020
Tragedy struck in Jos as a 300 level student named Rinji Peter Bala was allegedly killed by one of the soldiers attached to the task force monitoring lockdown in the state, TheCable reports.

https://www.akinblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/bobo.jpg

Confirming Bala’s arrest by the task force, the state police spokesman, Ubah Ogaba said:

“He was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF). That’s all we know about the case. If you want to get further clarification, contact the STF spokesman. Meanwhile, on our own part, we are doing an underground investigation into the matter,” he said.
The secretary-general of Unijos, Liberty Wilson while confirming the death of Bala who until his death was a student of the university said:

“Yes, he’s our student. He is a student of the faculty of arts. He was shot by a military personnel for violating the lockdown order imposed by the state government. So far, that is the information available to us.

“There was nothing like arrest in this case. He was simply shot dead by a soldier this morning.”

“It is rather unfortunate, this is the second time we are experiencing this. This is the second time a military personnel would kill our student,” he said.

“And the truth is, we are conversant with the executive order of the state government guiding lockdown in the state. There is no clause in the law that if anyone violates lockdown, he should be killed.

“At the SUG level, we would try our best. We are calling on the government to bring the soldiers to book as soon as possible because we are tired of all this.

“The other time it happened, that was how the issue died down. But to be frank, this one is not going to die down like the other. We are calling on the government to do the needful as fast as they can.”
Bala, better known by friends as Bobo, was — until his death — a student of history and international studies at UNIJOS.

https://www.akinblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/hotel-2.jpg

Recall Governor Nyesom Wike ordered the demolition of Prodest Hotel in Port Harcourt last weekend, on grounds of members of the state Taskforce on COVID-19 being attacked while enforcing the lockdown order he imposed in the state.

Though the name of the late member of the task force was not revealed in the statement released by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim, it was however gathered that the Rivers state governor has approved the conversion of the demolished hotel site to a primary school to serve the people of the state.

The statement reads;

“The latest issue that has been hijacked by opposition elements is the demolition of two hotels in Eleme, after they deliberately flouted Executive Order 6.

“These two hotels, Prodest Hotel, Alode, Eleme and Etemeteh Hotel, Onne not only flouted the Executive Order, the Hotel Manager of Prodest invited the wanted PDP Eleme Youth Leader, Princewill Osaroejiji, who came with thugs to unleash mayhem on Task Force operatives on ground to close down the facility.

“As we speak, one of the Task Force operative lost his life last night. Governor Wike and the Rivers State Security Council took the decision to demolish the hotel in the interest of Rivers State and her people. Days before that demolition, everyone was aware that the State Government sensitized the people on the consequence of flouting Executive Order 6.

“Having demolished that hotel, Governor Wike has approved that a primary school be constructed at that location to serve Rivers people. This is what a responsive government will do.

“The fight against coronavirus in the state has been premised on the Rule of Law. It was Governor Wike who first signed an Executive Order that led to Border Closure and other actions. This was done on March 19, 2020. After initial criticisms, other States followed suit.

“Therefore, the fight against coronavirus in Rivers State is in the interest of Rivers people and the entire Country. This is because Rivers State is vital to the survival of the nation as the headquarters of the hydrocarbon industry.

“One question many social media lawyers and their followers have refused to answer is, why is that out of several hotels operating in Rivers State only Prodest and Etemeteh hotels were demolished.

“Even the Chairman of Nigeria Hotels Owners Association Rivers State Chapter, Mr. Eugene Nwaizu, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt expressed surprise that the hotels that were not even registered with the body disobeyed the Executive Order.

“According to him, the Hotels and Guest Houses were well informed about the Executive Order. The Governor is not out to witch-hunt anybody but to ensure that coronavirus does not spread in the State.

“However, seasoned legal luminaries like Chief OCJ Okocha (SAN) have said that Governor Wike acted within the law under the present circumstances. We are saying, rather than mislead members of the public; those aggrieved should approach the courts for interpretation.

“The Rivers State Government will remain focused. It will not be distracted by these unfortunate schemes by ill-mannered politicians, struggling for political space at the expense of their people.

“For Rivers State, the demolition of the two hotels was carried out in line with the prescribed Executive Order known to all hoteliers in the State. It was also done to protect officials of the Rivers State Government who are implementing the Executive Order. No Government will allow its officials to be killed by thugs whilst they carry out lawful directive”.

The state task force on COVID-19 made the revelation on Tuesday.

The Yobe State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Muhammad Lawan Gana, who is also the vice-chairman of the state COVID-19 Committee on Prevention and Control, disclosed this in Damaturu while presenting “Yobe State Verbal Autopsy Preliminary Findings” triggered by the recent reported mass deaths in the state.

Dr. Gana said those that died were mostly elderly people.

He said the death rate was observed for three weeks starting from the last week of April to date, admitting that there were about 471 deaths reported within the period as indicated by the findings.

“57 per cent of those deaths had underlying chronic illnesses. More than 57% were aged between 50 years and above. The trend actually showed an increase in mortality”,
He admitted.

He said:

“90 per cent of the cases did not have symptoms that were consistent with COVID-19.
“It was noted that 16 of the 471 deceased in the five local government areas revealed someone with similar symptoms. All the 16 persons were investigated and referred to health facilities. 3 out of the 16 made the case definition of COVID-19 and 13 did not meet the definition, they had other diseases.

RomanceWhy Every Father Must Conduct DNA On Their Children - Nigerian Man by Transparent(op):
A Nigerian man who is identified as Kosi Ugo has given reasons why every father must conduct DNA on their children.

https://www.akinblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/gettyimages-932737574-2.jpg

The Nigerian freelance blogger who took to social media has given a shocking reason why every father should conduct a DNA test on their children.

Kosi boasted that he was rewarded with 3 million Naira by a new bride just to have sex and impregnate her.

The Nigerian man further said that the said bride didn't want her children to have her husband's genes because her husband was short, bald and his family had a symbol of tradition madness.

He wrote:

‘Last year, a newly married woman offered me 3 million naira to impregnate her.

Dear men;

I heard DNA now ranges from between 50-100k.

You don’t need to inform your wife – just take strands of your children’s hair while they are asleep and present them at the hospital.

There’s a huge chance that more than half of your children are not yours.

HealthThe Dangers Of Excess Sugar In The Body by Transparent(op):
Most of all the foods we consume daily are rich in sugar and as a matter of fact, excess sugar in the body can cause dangers such as increasing the risk of contracting Kidney and other deadly diseases.

https://www.akinblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/321518_2200-800x1200-1.jpg

Don’t get it twisted because sugars are also important in the body since it is the first energy source the body gets.

Sugars are extremely faster to breakdown into energy than protein and fat.

Inasmuch as we need Carbohydrate (energy) in the body, We need to be careful about how we consume one of the classes of a balanced diet.

Generally for survival, Humans need glucose and consuming too much sugar might cause dangers to the body system such as weight gain and prolonged health problems.

1. Sugars Can Cause Weight Gain
As you probably know that the rates of Obesity are increasing globally and excess sugars are among the causes of the weight gain in the body.

Sugar-sweetened drinks like sodas, juices and sweet teas are loaded with fructose, a type of simple sugar.

Consuming fructose increases your hunger and desire for food more than glucose, the main type of sugars found in starchy foods

Anyone who consumes fructose gets hungry quickly and have a strong desire for food. Fructose is one of the main types of sugar found in starchy foods and examples are:

Soda. Soda is well known for its high sugar content. …
Candy. Candy and candy bars are mostly made of sugar. …
Sweetened Yogurt. Yoghurt is often advertised as a healthy snack. …
Salad Dressing. …
Frozen Junk Foods. …
Breads. …
Canned Fruit. …
Juice.
Additionally, too much fructose consumption may cause resistance to leptin, an important hormone that regulates hunger and tells your body to stop eating.

Research has thereby warned people who drink sugary beverages, such as soda and juice because of the risk of weight gain which can result in the accumulation of visceral fat.

2. Excess Sugars Increase Your Risk of Heart Disease
High-sugar diets have been associated with an increased risk of many diseases, including heart disease, the number one cause of death worldwide.

Diets that are rich in sugars can be attributed to an increased risk of deadly diseases such as Heart and Kidney diseases.

This is one of the causes of death in elderly people because their immune system might not be active to fight this. that is why it is advisable you watch what you eat.

A study in over 30,000 people found that those who consumed 17–21% of calories from added sugar had a 38% greater risk of dying from heart disease, compared to those consuming only 8% of calories from added sugars.

Consuming too much-added sugar increases heart disease risk factors such as obesity, high blood pressure and inflammation. High-sugar diets have been linked to an increased risk of dying from heart disease.

3. It Can be Attributed to Acne
Excess sugars in your diet makes it more likely that you’ll develop insulin resistance, which can manifest as excessive hair growth (hirsutism), production of dark patches on the skin, and aggravation of acne breakouts. We know that high blood sugar spikes in your body pump up the production of insulin.

High-sugar diets can increase androgen secretion, oil production and inflammation, all of which can speed up the rate at which your body starts developing acne.

4. Increases Your Risk of Type 2 Diabetes
Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes affect the body’s ability to regulate blood glucose levels. High consumption of sugars will not directly cause either type. However, eating too much can cause weight gain. Obesity is a risk factor for type 2 diabetes.

A population study comprising over 175 countries found that the risk of developing diabetes grew by 1.1% for every 150 calories of sugar, or about one can of soda, consumed per day.

A high-sugar diet may lead to obesity and insulin resistance, both of which are risk factors for type 2 diabetes.

5. Sugar May Increase Your Risk of Cancer
Eating too much sugars may increase your risk of having certain cancers in the body.

According to PubMed Central, A study in over 430,000 people found that added sugar consumption was positively associated with an increased risk of esophageal cancer, pleural cancer and cancer of the small intestine.

Too much of it can lead to obesity, insulin resistance and inflammation, all of which are risk factors for cancer.

6. Drains Your Energy
Foods containing high amounts of added sugars can zap your energy levels rather than boost them. They may also increase your cravings for other sugary foods, which can create a vicious, energy-draining cycle.

To avoid this energy-draining cycle, choose carb sources that are low in added sugar and rich in fibre.

High-sugar foods can negatively impact your energy levels by causing a spike in blood sugar followed by a crash.

HealthNew Study Reveals Coronavirus Could Be Found In Semen And Spread By Sex by Transparent(op): 10:54pm On May 07, 2020
A new study has revealed that men who have recovered from Coronavirus should desist from having sex in order not to get infected with the virus via their semen.

https://www.akinblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Coronavirus-4.jpg

Patients in China who donated samples several days after their virus symptoms had faded were found to show evidence of Covid-19, Telegraph.co.uk reports.

The findings have left scientists worried that the deadly disease could be sexually transmitted, raising the prospect of health chiefs advising people to avoid having sex for a set time after the end of their symptoms.

One of the patients in the study, at Shangqui Municipal Hospital in Henan Province, tested positive for Covid-19 in his semen 16 days after coming down with the virus and three days after clinical recovery.

“Abstinence or condom use might be considered as preventative means for these patients,” the study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, said.

The research team said Covid-19 could be seeded to the male reproductive tract, especially where there is local inflammation.

“Even if the virus cannot replicate in the male reproductive system it may persist, possibly resulting from the privileged immunity of testes,” they said.

Other experts have pointed out that the study, comprising 38 patients, is relatively small, and that only six of these patients had tested positive for the virus in their semen. Until now, researchers had previously found only 27 viruses in human semen.

It is not known whether the presence of Covid-19 in the testes affects men’s reproductive capability.

Professor Richard Sharpe, from the MRC Centre for Reproductive Health at the University of Edinburgh, said: “As the authors point out, this finding raises the possibility that Covid-19 might also be transmissible via semen and thus via sexual contact perhaps including during the recovery phase, which would have disease management implications.

“Whilst this is a small study, that leaves many important questions unanswered – how long after Covid-19 infection does detectable virus persist in semen in those with a semen-positive result?

“It suggests that obtaining answers to such questions should be an additional priority considering our global need to understand the dynamics of person-to-person transmission of Covid-19.”

HealthFederal Government Talks On Using Locally Made Herbs To Treat COVID-19 Patients by Transparent(op): 11:51am On May 06, 2020
Federal Government has said it won't go against using locally made herbs for the treatment of COVID-19 Patients in Nigeria.

https://www.akinblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Osagie-Ehanire-1280x720-1.jpg

Dr Osagie Ehanire, Minister of Health said the Nigerian Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development must first certify the efficacy of locally made herbs before they are used in treating COVID-19 patients.

Ehanire made the clarification during the daily briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja.

He explained that local herbs can be classified into those that can either cure COVID-19 or reduce the virus.

According to Ehanire: “Before now, it was said that Chloroquine can destroy the virus. But test is still going on in that regard.

“We have to test the efficacy of local drugs to see if it can kill the virus and also to find out that is in the process of killing the virus, it can affect the body. So, the Institute will carry out the required test on the local drugs to find out how it can work”.

Recall that Ehanire had disclosed that Remdesivir was being used to treat patients infected with COVID-19.
