The shocking news we just received now has confirmed that The Former Oyo Governor, Abiola Ajimobi is now dead.

The 70-year-old, who had been on a life support machine since last Friday at First Cardiology Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos, after slipping into a coma following Coronavirus complications, finally died on Thursday, according to findings by SaharaReporters.

On Monday, a reliable source close to the ex-governor had told SaharaReporters that Ajimobi had been on life support machine after he slipped into a deep coma and may not make any recovery going by the observations of medical experts around him.

The source further disclosed that the former Oyo governor had a lung surgery since being rushed to the Lagos hospital but made no progress while his kidneys had also failed.

Doctors treating Ajimobi, it was reliably gathered, last Friday informed his family that his situation had defied every medical intervention and that only a miracle could bring him back to life.

Those projections came true on Thursday as the ex-governor finally succumbed to the virus that has also killed several prominent Nigerians including late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, who was also treated for the disease at First Cardiology Hospital until he died.

A Nigerian man, Chris Ndukwe has reportedly stabbed his wife to death before committing suicide, this happened on Sunday, June 21, 2020, at his house located in Victory Point Estate, Ilasan, Lagos State.

According to a report gathered from Instablog, Chris's wife, Olamide who was the CEO of Pearl Academy Nigeria dated him for seven years were said to have fixed their wedding for August 2020 before the sad incident happened.

Another report also gathered from Lagos State Police Spokesperson, revealed that Chris stabbed Olamide to death and later drank poisonous substance to terminate his own life too.

According to some family members, the couple had two boys, aged 7 and 3. Chris lived in Victory Point Estate Ilasan, while Olamide lived in Ogba.

She is said to have visited him alongside her younger sister on Saturday, based on his invitation. The sister was the first to have noticed that the couple were dead and raised alarm.

The Health Minister, Tawfiq al-Rabiah has made it official that about 1000 pilgrims across the world will be allowed to witness the upcoming Pilgrimage which is slated to hold next month, July.

In a bid to keep maintaining social distancing, Saudia Arabia will only allow about 100 pilgrims who are below 65 and with no chronic disease.

The Health Minister said:

“The number of pilgrims will be around 1,000, maybe less, maybe a little more,” Hajj Minister Mohammad Benten told reporters. “The number won’t be in tens or hundreds of thousands” this year.

Trending rumour making rounds on Social Media has it that Heritage Bank has just suspended Dbanj’s Endorsement deal due to the recent rape allegation made against him.

Recall that about some weeks ago, a Nigerian pretty model took to social media to say that Dbanj raped her friend, Seyitan Babatoye on December 31, 2018 at a hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Since then the matter has been trending on Social Media even though the entertainer has denied this allegation put against him as a fake story.

Few days ago, Dbanj celebrated his birthday and it was that same day he got endorsement deal with Heritage Bank.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has been asked to investigate the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) over alleged $7.5million (2.9bn) fraud.

This was contained in a petition dated June 5th and forwarded to the anti-craft agency by a whistleblower.

The amount which summed up to 2,910,000,000 naira, according to a whistleblower, was allegedly pocketed in a “monumental fraud” bordering on 2020/2021 insurance premium.

The whistleblower alleged that the fraud was perpetuated by the Lead insurers in connivance with the management of the NNPC.

Details of the document showed that the premium for the insurance of NNPC was inflated by over 20% of the original figure, against standard practice. This amounted to about USD 7.5million.

The brokers to the business, while at a meeting in London early this year, raised objection and pointed out the discrepancy, arguing that the inflated cost was at the expense of NNPC but this was reportedly turned down.

The beneficiary of the deal and the management of NNPC later signed off the documents with the inflated premium, without minding the $7.5m gap.

The whistleblower urged the EFCC and the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) to unravel the beneficiary of the differential premium which the insurers collected as the net actual premium.

The petitioner maintained that the current government prides itself as enemy of corruption in public and private institutions and admonished the government agencies to walk the talk.

This is coming on the heel of the report that the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited (KRPC) generated no revenue in 2018 and incurred an operating loss of N64.5 billion, as shown in the first audited financial statements of the NNPC after 43 years of its operation.

Recall that Ajimobi who was announced few days ago as the acting National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) had been battling COVID-19 for at least two weeks.

Few hours ago, the rumour of his death started trending on social media, however his spokesman who is identified as Bolaji Tunji told THE PUNCH this evening that he is still alive.

“I spoke with those around him not long ago and they confirmed to me that he is still alive. Please disregard news of his death as fake news,” Tunji told The PUNCH.

Busola Dakolo has revealed that the Minister of Justice has been handed the investigation carried out by the police on her rape allegation against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.

”It is now officially one year after since I came out and told the most important story of my life up until this point. That when I was a teenager, Biodun Fatoyinbo violently raped me. It wasn’t just me. In the media, on social platforms and in private, women have been sharing stories of how this man either destroyed their lives or tried to.

“A lot has happened in that time: and my heart is glad that consciousness continues to be raised about the great evil that sexual abuse is, and how widespread it is, and how much women are at risk, and why we need to ensure justice for those who find the strength to speak out.

“Awareness is victory. But we are pushing to another even great victory: Justice.

“When the courts last year decided to rule in favour of the man who assaulted me, people were crestfallen. I understood. What they didn’t know however is that before we even began, we had been prepared for a long haul battle that may take years because the Nigerian legal system isn’t wired to help sexual abuse victims get justice.

“Today, I have a major update. The police have concluded its investigation. And handed over its report to the Ministry of Justice in Abuja for onward prosecution of Biodun Fatoyinbo. He clearly has a case to answer.

But there has been silence from the ministry. Silence. A loud silence!

“We have written a letter but for over a month we have no response.

“Instead, my lawyers and my family have heard about all manner of manipulation and foul play being attempted to stop the ministry from beginning prosecution immediately or even to get the police report manipulated.

“My name is Busola Dakolo, a survivor of one of the most horrific acts -rape. My voice will not be shut down. My case will not be silenced. I am thankful to those in and out of the police, the ministry and the corridors of power who have called in solidarity and to reassure me that they are monitoring the ministry of justice and that this pressure to bury the case will not succeed.

“I am updating the Nigerian public because you all made my story matter. You joined me to say enough is enough. With you, this has been an easier process.”

The young man identified as G Love Udenso on Facebook dropped a comment under a post calling for the end of rape.

He said he will continue to rape and “nothing” will happen, adding that women should avoid wearing too many underwear because it’s time wasting.

He wrote:-

Ogunwusi advised Muslim faithful to keep supporting President Muhammadu Buhari government in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Ooni made this known in a statement issued by his Director of Media and Public Affairs, Moses Olafare, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Ile-Ife.

Ooni, the Co-Chairman, National Council of Traditional Rulers, urged Nigerians to celebrate with their families despite the situation in the world at the moment.

“Celebration in Nigeria is not the conventional merriment of social gathering as we all know that there is an order against that, especially in this situation we are all facing globally.

“We should, however celebrate in our various homes with our families by remembering Allah and why we should not give up in our hope of a better tomorrow.
