The National Youth Service Corps NYSC has provided the sum of Three Million Five Hundred Thousand naira to a Corps member, Ogunpaimo Kehinde, to enable her undergo a heart surgery. Kehinde, who is serving in Lagos State, and has been living on strong survival drugs for some time now, is due for surgery soon.

Moved by her condition, the NYSC Lagos State Coordinator, Prince Mohammed Momoh, presented her case to the National Directorate Headquarters of the Scheme. Following the approval of the Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, the cheque of N3.5m was presented to her by Momoh in his office.

The Coordinator said the gesture was yet another illustration of Management's concern for the welfare of Corps members. He wished her a successful surgery and quick recovery.

Receiving the cheque, Kehinde thanked Kthe scheme for the assistance. She also appreciated the Coordinator for his role in bringing succour to her.

On Tuesday, 300 Boko Haram suspects were officially remanded in prison custody as hearings got underway in the first mass trials linked to the Islamist insurgency.
The media has been banned on security grounds from attending proceedings at four civilian courts set up in a military base in Kainji, in central Niger State. But the justice ministry said in a statement that three separate cases, each involving 100 defendants, were heard in three of the courts.
Ministry spokesman Salihu Othman Isah said the judges ordered all the defendants to be remanded in custody for 90 days, pending further investigations and preparation of charges. The hearings will resume on January 9, the judges ruled. One defendant, who is accused of attempting to bomb the main mosque in the northeastern city of Bauchi, was ordered to be transferred to face trial.
A total of 1,669 suspects 1,631 men, 11 women, 26 boys and one girl are being held at the Kainji facility, pending formal charges and trial. The government has said it then plans to prosecute 651 others held at the Giwa military barracks in the northeastern city of Maiduguri.

FG Appoints Abdul-Akaba Sumaila as new sole administrator of Ajaokuta steel complex

The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi, has announced the appointment of Engr. Abdul-Akaba Sumaila, as the Acting Sole Administrator of the Ajaokuta Steel Complex.
The appointment was announced via a statement signed by Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Mines and Steel Development. Olayinka Oyebode on Tuesday.
Sumaila replaces Joseph Isah, who retired from the civil service last month, having attained the mandatory 35 years in service.
The new administrator, Sumaila is a trained engineer and project manager. He's a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers. He was until his appointment, a Senior Advisor, Government Relations with Shell Petroleum Development Company. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Business School Netherlands (BSN).
The appointment takes immediate effect.

There was pandemonium amongst traders of Warewa community, in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, after they were swindled of N2m by a wonder bank owner, identified as Ngozi Adline.
Adline, who is from Imo State, operated under the name Link M Investment Limited.
She had two employees, Oluwatoyin Adebayo and Esther Adelanwa, who usually go out to collect money from customers. After collecting up to N2m from residents, she fled in August 2016.
One of the workers, Adebayo, said that each time some of the customers showed up to get a loan or try to get some money from their savings, Adline would make up a story why the money was not readily available.
She added that since they (Adebayo and Adelanwa) were the ones collecting money from the residents, they are now been held responsible for the loss of their money.
Adebayo said the theft has been reported at the Warewa Police Station, saying:

“We collected money for her (Adline) daily and weekly from customers. She promised to give those that wanted to save for three months five to 10 per cent interest. We started in April and everything went well, while our customers were satisfied.
“However, after about four months, we started having problems with the customers.
“The issue was that at the end of that month, she refused to bring money for disbursement to customers that needed loans and wanted to collect their savings with interest.
“Sometime in August 2016, she absconded with over N2m. We are the ones that the customers know; they don’t really know her. So, we have been struggling to refund them. She has put us in trouble. She is from Imo State. Policemen followed us to her residence in Ibafo, where we were told that she had relocated.
“We learnt that she had earlier had problem over money with some residents and was arrested by policemen from the Ibafo Police Station. But she was later released. We spoke with her on the telephone until December 2016. Suddenly, we can no longer reach her on the line. We even pleaded with her to refund the money piecemeal, she refused. Some customers who saved N1,000 on a daily basis have not been refunded at all.”
Adelanwa also narrated her part of what happened, she said:
“The woman ran away with more than N2m. Adline’s phone number has not been going through. Customers are embarrassing us. We owe about 60 people. They have locked up the office,” she said.
A trader, Mrs. Amirat Salaudeen, who is into laundry services said:
“I started contributing sometime in April 2016. I paid between N1,000 and N2,000 every day, depending on the sales I made. I paid in for eight months. I have got only N50,000 out of my saving. I planned to use my saving to boost my business. It is painful and I am very disappointed,” she added.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said it was difficult for the police to track down the woman because her business was not legitimate and wasnt properly registered.

He reportedly said:

“They should do private investigation on their own and find out where the woman is. Then, they can inform the police and she will be arrested.
“If the victims had paid her through a bank, we would track her through her account.
“The police have done the right thing by going to her house. We are not to blame and cannot perform magic to find the woman.”

The popular Brazilian competition, Miss Bumbum, has been rocked by scandal after six contestants were accused of cheating by using Robots, an online software to influence their votes.
Organisers confirmed on Monday that six finalists out the 15 well-endowed curvy contestants have docked 40,000 votes each "for the use of or attempted use of robots to interfere with the public vote."
This comes after the popular beauty pageant launched a probe following claims that some of the women had used computer software to influence thousands of online votes in a just a few hours.
The contestants include favourite for the title Rosie Oliveira, representing the jungle state of Amazonas, who came first in the public ballot with 149,404 votes.
Others involved in the cheating scandal include second-placed Pietra Maya, who got 148,547 votes, and third-placed Hellen Cristyan, who gained 144,736, including three others who have not yet been identified.
The scandal, which could see the women eliminated from the competition, has now thrown the pageant into confusion with just weeks to the final day of the contest, holding in Sao Paulo on November 6.

The duo allegedly used forged Purchase Orders to hoodwink a new generation bank into granting them credit facility to finance the sale of Automotive Gas Oil valued at several billions of Naira to a major oil marketing company.
The suspects, who are members of a syndicate of fraudsters, were arrested following a complaint by an employee of the bank.

Please my marriage is about to crash, because of my brother in-law.
last week Wednesday I was off from work, so I was about to have my bathe before I decided to dry some clothes outside, while I was outside my brother in-law sneaked into our room, to collect cream, I finished with what I was doing and was going inside, he heard my footsteps and hid under the bed, I got inside with no clue someone was under my bed, my husband came back.. walked into our room, grab me from behind and the only thing I had on was my towel, he pushed me on the bed and removed his shoe, when he threw his shoe under the bed he heard a little weird noise and he checked, he saw his younger brother there, with just boxers on, I was shocked because I didn't even know someone was in our room when I walked in, he explained what happened, but my husband didn't even listen to him, my husband gave him a very brutal beating at the spot, and asked him to leave his house, he left afterwards, I explained everything to my husband, he won't listen, since then he haven't talked to me, or eaten the food I prepared.
Please I need some matured advice from other readers before my marriage crashes, I love my husband so much and not ready to lose him

2. Fails to notice the difference she makes
A woman doesn’t want to be appreciated for only what she does. She wants you to appreciate who she is, but you can admit it she does a lot. 3. Underestimates the small stuff
You only said “this” but it was “THIS” to her. And it hurts. You may even think it’s funny. She may even laugh. But it is often building a wall of protection around her heart each time you do. The key here is that you can’t talk to her like you might talk to another guy. She hears and feels deeper than you do. Words can and do hurt.

4. Speaks with curtness
When you talk down to her, as if she’s somehow less than you, you bruise her spirit. Deeply. And, you know she’s not less than you, you don’t even think she is, she just can’t tell that sometimes based on your tone and the way you talk to her.

5. Corrects her as she’s talking
This could be finishing her sentences or speaking for her in the company of others. She feels demeaned and devalued when you present her to others as if she can’t compete with you in original thought, which you know isn’t true. (there some ladies that are more smarter than some men )

6. Acts suspicious
Don’t misunderstand or misapply this one. When you hide information, even when you think you’re protecting her, you cause her to question your motive. When you protect your calendar, or act like you are upset at the question “What did you do today?” or “What did you talk about?” or “Who was that?” when someone calls, it gives her an eerie feeling something is wrong. And, that hurts.

7. Admires other women over her
She sees you looking. She may even understand your highly visual make-up. It hurts her, however, when a glance becomes a stare…especially when it happens everywhere you go…all the time.
A wife’s heart, no matter how independent or strong she is, is tender in places. Lots of places. She can bruise easily in some areas of her life, especially the places that involve the people she loves the most, like you. A husband who understands this is more careful in how he speaks and responds to her.

So during the week one of my blog readers sent this seeking for help, and I thought Nairaland was the best place to bring it for more opinion.

Years ago when I was struggling, I had no money, I was confused and frustrated, I came from a poor family and my mother is late, my father struggled to bring us up, so somewhere along the line I was working in a bar as a bar tender, to cut the long story short I had a friend from a wealthy family he was schooling and working abroad, we lost contact after her travelled, one day I was searching on Facebook and came across his profile, I was happy we chatted almost everyday and he gave me words of hope one day he sent me an amount of money which I can't mention, he asked me to pay a percentage to the motherless baby home which he gave me an account detail, but due to how broke I was, I decided to start a business with all the money, which worked and somehow my life change but two years later my business started falling, I started losing money in a way I don't even understand, I fasted and prayed cus I always paid my tithe, after some few months I remembered How the money I used to start the business came, and deep down me, I know if I don't pay back the money it will continue, I lost my goods last month too, so my question is, will God forgive me if I just pay the money back as seed faith in my church, I can't locate any motherless baby home around my side, (Note: i lost the account details he sent me)please I need an urgent advice, thank you Nemezu, please I will also love to be kept anonymous as you share the story, God bless you
