Frankiss44: On the average what is it going to cost me to take my wife and my son on a 2 weeks vacation to Ghana? Honestly I am not really the best person to provide accurate information. I can only Google just like you. I am not based in Ghana and when I go to Ghana I have a house there so don't stay in hotels. When am a bit free I will do some research and find out the best places you can stay at and tourist attractions and approximately the cost. I may open up a thread for that specifically as quite a number of people have asked me about this. Sorry I was not much help |

KidStranglehold: lol! Well if you want that keep pushing at it. Many foreign blacks make it big in America, especially Nigerians like Idris Elba.
Anyways what type of media of Black American pop culture is shown in Nigeria? I ask, because you seem to know A LOT about black celebrities from America being someone who is from Nigeria. By that I suspect Nigeria has a fast growing entertainment media. FYI Idris Elba is not Nigerian. He is half Sierra Leone (Dad) and half Ghanaian(Mom ) |

ucheokpara100: tnx, pls finally how much is one bedroom flat now per year in Accra and how much is shop rent then i 'll decide. Honestly I am not sure but I can find out for you. I know that a lot of places take 2 years or a years rent in advance and the shop rent would obviously vary depending on location. I would suggest that you first pay Ghana a visit and gather your own research and then see if you will be able to manage there. |

The truth is he can never be nigerian and i can easily be ghanian by banging a beautiful ghanian girl to submission. So why is he complaining? For the above stated reason. lol okay I see. @ the bolded |

ucheokpara100: is ghana's electricity still reliable? can one hundred million old ghana cedi get me a good business? and finally wich city can u recommend? 100 mil old Ghana cedis is about 10000 Ghana cedis now. Which is about 568892.99 naira or 2860 dollars. I won't lie to you am not sure what kind of business you may do with such an amount. Iamord and captainswag225 could you please help him out? It depends what you want and are looking for. I would suggest Accra since it is the capital and the hub so I think that would be your best bet business wise. |

Gurgle: don't know if somebody asked you this already but why do you normally go with your mothers side
i heard if its higher in "rank" your children take their mothers name
what is the reason for this, if its true Let me sum it up for you. Firstly not all tribes in Ghana are matrilineal. It's only the Ashanti tribe of Ghana. How this came about started from the Royal family. They believed that a mother's child is her child while a Father's child may not be his child. So by transferring wealth etc on the women's side in the royal family. The money and riches were kept in the family. Basically this was to prevent 'bastards' or children that were not really of royal blood to gain access to the royal family's wealth. Back in the day there was no such thing as DNA test etc so they did this to prevent outsiders from getting access to their riches. Well this was what I was told and I also read about it a couple of years back. But honestly speaking it's not really a big thing, perhaps if you marry into a royal family then the whole matrilineal may be emphasized but otherwise for the most part the dad is still the head. The kids belong to both parents and you can inherit whatever your folks give to you. |
