Goke7: Are you aware that lot of folks who came into the uk then were also in the Canadian pool waiting for their ITA which was delayed due to Covid? Why are we lumping everyone together as if many were not initially qualified, do you have the data? Provide if you have and not base on assumptions. One thing I have observed is when there is a surge of immigrants, we begin to dismiss the entry criteria. Do you know the amount of Nigerians that have immigrated legally into the US in the last three years? Will you say the US too became porous with eb2, and 01 visas? Check the stats Nigerians were in the top 5-10. The increasing number of Nigerians attaining citizenship in Canada in the last five years decimates all these narratives of easier entry or porous borders nonsense lol. Yea right. |

Goke7: You're asking if it worth the struggle so folks should sit down in the uk and become overstayers or go back to naija ba? Many of the carers in the uk have so much professional experience back home that can leveraged on to get into the US legally. I wonder where this idea that so many Nigerians are never qualified always come from. I remember a funny argument a while back on this forum where someone alluded that so many Nigerians who came into the uk will never qualify for the Canada express entry system but am sure that has been busted now with so many who have since crossed into Canada from the uk
You say the US is toxic, is the uk not toxic enough with all these disrespect for migrants or you think it's all about guns? phew. but it's true. The UK was super porous and super easy to enter, just about anyone who could arrange POF did...anyone. They didn't even need to actually have the money...third class sef enter🤣 The ratio of people that came in with a skilled work visa vs those who came with a student visa would be like ratio 1:100 Canada on the other hand only just introduced the tech, healthcare and other draws in 2023/2024, including the recent caregiver pilot which both Nigerians and UK based Nigerians who have those specific experiences/qualifications are now using and benefiting from. Prior to those updates/specific draws, they wouldn't have stood half a chance....cos they would have to be young, with masters and have high ielts and tef/tcf scores...How many of the folks who flooded the UK even wrote ordinary IELTS? Lol Make we no dey fear to talk the simple truth jare. Dem no see Canada, US or Aussie before dem choose the 'far easier' UK |

A woman with extreme body modifications has revealed what she looked like before she underwent her shocking transformation.
Toxii, from Belgium, started her body modification journey four years ago, dramatically altering her appearance.
https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2025/05/02/11/97953631-14671569-image-a-11_1746183440074.jpg
The 31-year-old has undergone extreme tattooing and cosmetic work, including breast implants as well as having 'horns' fitted to her forehead.
Now, the influencer has revealed what she looked like before the journey.
https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2025/05/02/12/97953617-14671569-In_a_picture_form_2019_Toxii_had_shoulder_length_blonde_hair_and-a-13_1746186688219.jpg
In a picture shared on Instagram before her transformation, Toxii is seen with blonde hair, a tan, and a glamorous style featuring false eyelashes, pink lipstick, and gold hoop earrings.
But now her glamorous look has long gone after altering her appearance.
The social media star's long blonde is gone and in its place is waist-length black dreadlocks, her lips are bigger and her tanned face is now covered in black tattoos and permanent make- up. Her green eyes are now pitch black and she has had ridges inserted underneath her forehead.
Toxii has had her tongue split in two and dyed black and her teeth filed down into silver points.

The Belgian native has also had her ears cut down and re-shaped and ridges inserted into her neck.
The extreme modification addict has also made changes to her Instruments and undergone scarification where her skin has been cut, burned or branded to creaye textured scars.
But her most extreme change is her nose removal which she proudly revealed on Instagram.

After revealing her extreme makeover, she added that she is the first woman in history to have a nose removal.
In an interview with street artist Devon Rodriguez, which she shared to her Instagram, Toxii revealed that her nose amputation was far more painful than she expected and she revealed it hurt more than getting her horn implants.

GloriousGbola: you are actually the one at fault here imho - because you have chosen to outsource everything related to the children to your wife., how often do you go grocery shopping? do you take the children with you when you do this? do you go with them to school to buy books or school uniform? why would you give your wife the money to pay for school fees when you can do this yourself?
how often do your children come to disturb you about an assignment they have to do, or worn out shoes or bag, etc? do you pay attention? do you buy your kids school supplies, or clothes? do you know what they are into? do they ever come to talk to you about anything? you have to actively build a relationship with your children, and the earlier you do it the better
if you have decided to play the role of an atm only dont be surprised that that is what you are seen as. you can complain that women manipulate children against their fathers - but lazy men walk right into it when they completely remove themselves from any part of running the home/ family.
but this is not tensas story. tensa's story is one of active indifference by his father. there is no need to pretend that being a father automatically conveys a sense of responsibility onto an individual. you have to actively be a part of your children's lives on every level. children can also see when their parents are struggling, even if they don't fully understand at the time.
thats why you hear people say - our parents did the best they could. tensa is saying - his dad did not do that. his dad did nothing. there was a caveat I wrote 'Not referring to deadbeat dads' Yes, I actually do all this, and I'm very present in my children's lives. I have quit jobs and made otherwise crazy decisions just for family cohesion. I write about my family on here, if you check my history. I got an appointment in October in Lagos, subsequently locked up my house in Ibadan in December and moved my family to Lagos just cos I can't be away from them....ordinary Ibadan for here ooo. That should give you some insight. The point is, I didn't think it a big deal trfing lump sum money to my wife to pay for these things like school fees etc esp since she was the one taking them to school and doing those runnings more. Till today I don't know the names of the teachers of my daughters nor am in any WhatsApp group, but my wife does/is. I have my area of specialty and focus in the home and I don't worry about all those other things she is handling, just like she doesn't worry about the bills, or about the car, or fixing of this and that, or even how we manage the bills. I'm the chief handyman and financial controller of my household, I draw up the budgets and everything. So innocently giving my wife money to execute things wasn't a big deal, and still is not a big deal even now. It's just that I also realized it was better to let the kids explicitly know how e dey go, so there is no distortion whatsoever. They are kids, they didn't know anything, they were just 5 and 3. Now that they are 7 and 5 THEY KNOW cos I made it abundantly clear. No one, not even my wife can distort that one. The conversation with that babe gave me perspective, and that perspective was enough for me to make those changes. |

ChristoBam: I believe if his father was capable to provide for the family and chose just not to, he'd have indicated.
The vibe he's giving is he hates his dad for being unable to provide(broke). Basically calling him useless for that. All the rant about the man has totally been about financial provision and nothing else.
If that's the case, the guy that talks about his Mom might not be totally wrong. You don't develop that kind of thinking without the mom rubbishing him over the years. Call him useless and unable to provide while she sweats to pay everything. Thereby developing hatred for the man.
It's really unfortunate. It's the first time I've ever heard anyone call his/her father/mother a fool and useless without any traumatic experience to back it up. I get you💯. I was also shocked and almost wanted to comment when I saw that post at the time it was made, BUT seeing as it was a personal one to him, I didn't see the need to be the one doing defender of the universe on this topic. I do know I heard a similar comment from one of my before babes, married and all, but brought up the comment while we were gisting on broad topics one day, literally same description..and I asked her some questions like how you take know say no be your papa dey give your mama your school fees, shey you dey there when they have those kain discussions enough to know the full picture, and other questions which she didn't give satisfactory answers for , but since na her papa she dey call useless, I decided there was no need to drag things further, BUT I made some changes following that conversation. Prior to that conversation, I would always send money for school fees and upkeep money to my wife, who then would pay to the school and all that. So to the school and to my kids, na Mrs D dey pay. It hit me that just like my former babe, my kids, the school, the market people, the street people we buy things from, all get trfs from my wife, and hypothetically if things were to go south between us, no one would believe that I was the one funding everything. They would believe her. How many people I go show bank statements say I have been bankrolling every as a responsible father and head of the home? That day I sat my daughters who were both less than 5 at the time and told them explicitly the role I play as the financier of everything as far as the home is concerned, and got my wife to also corroborate same, and for every single thing I do, my wife tells them so they say Daddy thank you. Beyond just care, I saw clearly that I also need to let them know what I do for them, not cos I need their thanks, but just so one child will not grow up to believe my mummy was paying for everything. Till today I send the school fees directly and they bring the school receipt to me, not my wife o, my kids gangan. It appears if you don't toot your horn, you run the risk of being grossly misjudged..............not talking about the deadbeat dads Then there is the place of dads who are struggling and doing the best they can with the cards they have been dealt. Life's full of ups and downs. If you know a man is doing all he can, he shouldn't be despised cos he isn't rich. If you know a man is working assiduously to provide something, no matter how small, the size of the heart is what should matter, not the gift...... Uncle Henry na the richest person wey I know as per family ties. Has been in Mobil since 2000., bro is mad liquid. His younger sister a radiographer is in the UK. Their baby of the house, na Facebook she meet the person wey marry am, came in from the USA, wife am and carry am go. She don born three now....but they grew up even poorer than us..his mum fried those coconut chips they boil with sugar by the roadside, their dad got retrenched at some point from Nepa. Man was doing what he could, but na mum's petty business proceeds was at least 60% of what funded the family and Uncle Henry university bills for Ife. She was the one bringing in the bread for some time. Same in my family, for a good number of years my mum too was the one bringing in the bread, but in both cases our dads were doing whatever they could to add something, albeit little to the bread. Today, and for many years now sef, for both families, we are all nowhere near poor. Say person poor today, no mean say he no fit bench you tomorrow. Seen it play out so many times, so I try as much as possible not to dismiss or despise those who are struggling. |

maureensylvia: Sometime earlier this month, around past 7am, just as I was heading out to drop my kids at school, I got a call.
The person claimed someone referred him to me. He said his boss, a senator, urgently needed bags of rice for a birthday giveaway to prisoners and motherless babies. Sounds noble, right?
I gave him the price.
By 8:10am, he requested my account details.
Barely 10 minutes later, he forwarded a transaction receipt of N2.1 million and began calling repeatedly, urging me to send the goods immediately.
He said, “We trusted you enough to pay before seeing you. Please trust us back and send the rice now. We need it urgently.”
But something didn’t sit right with me.
Thankfully, I zoomed in on the receipt and noticed a tiny detail that didn’t match up.
I'll share the major difference here
I forwarded the receipt to my account officer, and guess what?
It was a fake alert.
I quietly thanked God and smiled. Because if I had moved by emotions, pressure, or excitement, I would have lost both goods and capital.
In business, emotion is expensive. Wisdom and structure will save you from tears. it goes without saying that funds must be confirmed in the account before goods are released. Aside the things you noticed, the session ID and/or transaction reference always has the date and time of the transaction in those long string of numbers you see. It takes some getting used to, but with practice over time, you'd be able to glance through and spot any funny business in mere seconds Eg the original you posted, after the 000014 the next number is the date in y/m/date format 25/02/22. The next two numbers in the exact time the transaction went through 19:05 |

Denko2721987: I am in agreement with quite a number of the common sense policies of the Trump administration to overturn a whole lot of damage done by the derms. But telling migrants who came in legally to leave within a lead is unfair, unreasonable and a complete lack of empathy & regard to families who came in seeking a better life and are law abiding and have not committed any crimes. Every policy as much as they are geared toward making a nation better should always have a human face. But so far some of Trump's policies are becoming too draconian, desperate and abusive which is not the way to go and may backfire for the Republicans latter on. wrong They didn't come in legally They came in illegally and regd using the stupid CBP one app by the slowpoke called Joe Biden, to make an asylum claim. Those who already are in the court process will not be touched until judgement is delivered on their asylum application. Those who just used the app to join the illegal queue and haven't had their day in court, have now been told to leave cos they came in illegally through the wide open southern border, and the current president who is not an idiot like the previous one is intent and bound by law to stop the illegality. So by all means open your gate and your front door, and let strangers waltz into your mansion to live there, cos they used an app that the former landlord whom you bought the house from, created due to his dementia. It shouldn't take three years to build a new one and when opened then this one can be closed for repairs without causing chaos. As we can see.... we put ourselves in situations where there are no alternatives. Must this be the only bridge ? If the bridge has deteriorated to this dangerous level ...then what were the ones responsible for its maintenance been doing? These are the investigations that need to be done and instead of apologizing... we need to see heads roll ...hold people accountable. naptu2 take note. While your assessment and coverage of the incident is very valuable, you basically just concluded that this hellish situation is the only way. Except now with the govt's admittance now that this is supposedly 3years in the making, it shows glaringly that they have no element of being proactive or thinking outside the box. A proactive team would have thought of just what the quoted person wrote, given the significance of that bridge to traffic flow. Anyday they close that bridge without an alternative conduit available, what happened on Wednesday will still happen. If they had been proactive, there would be an alternative bridge ready or almost ready that would pick up the slack. Putting 10000 lastma on the road will not ease it....maybe getting 90% of the cars disappearing from the roads for two months might. |

studyless123: It shouldn't be at the detriment of small businesses. There are better ways to negotiate. A small business owner who imports goods of 20k from China pays 2k in tariffs 4 months ago. Now he pays $13k in tariffs. Sourcing local is more expensive and there are supply challenges. The end user bears all this and then when it's unsustainable the small business dies. Tariffs is about comparative advantage, the current approach is flawed. I'm making an educated guess that it won't get to that. Everyone will have to come to the negotiation table sooner than later, which I believe is the whole point of all this gragra wey DJT dey do. As they say, the end justifies the means. |
