Yesterday it was Miss Daggash being celebrated for earning a first class in Engineering yesterday from Oxford, and a few weeks ago it was another brilliant northern gentleman that was similarly being celebrated.

While some are already bitter at the rising trend of Nigerians from the North using their brains to paint our country in brilliant colors thereby puncturing the narrative they love to peddle about the North, we will continue to celebrate the fact that we are developing skilled manpower for a brighter future for the region and Nigeria as a whole. The immediate past president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has denied a report that he is interested in contesting the 2019 presi­dential election.

An online me­dium had reported that Jonathan declared interest to run for presidency in 2019 in Bayelsa yesterday, adding that the former president was inundated with calls from Nigerians to recontest and salvage the economy from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

But Daily Sun quotes Jonathan’s media aide, Ikechukwu Eze, as denying the former president is considering taking another shot at the presidency.

Eze added that the former president never made any declaration on 2019 election, either in May or this month.
