I read somewhere that getting a RFE is synonymous with someone who is starting afresh. That they'd have to attend to other pending cases for the year before treating such. Na why I cry oooooo����������

cry? Why would you cry for rfe? RFE is infact a good thing. It means your case was about to be adjudicated but they found something missing. You can’t guess what that is but trust me it will never be something huge. Sometimes it might be about an unchecked box that you just need to tick and send back, sometimes it may be about any missing document. Just be patient your petitioner will get a mail from from uscis within a week and the reason for the rfe will be there. You’ll get your NOA2 as soon as you reply the rfe and send whatever they requested to them. You’re 99.9% close to receiving your approval. All the best to you

YES your port of entry matters.

Just to be clear, if the destination you filled on your DS160 is Texas, be sure your POE is in Texas or an airport that’s not more than an hour drive to the state you filled in your application. Only if it’s not your first time using that said VISA to gain entry into the US…. but if it’s the first time, please use the POE in your DS160.

Do not let anybody deceive you, you can be deported for this, I know someone who was.

Pardon my curiosity, why would you fly to a different state from your POE?

Guys please did the NVC time frame change from 2-4 weeks for Nigerian K1 visa? Am not sure but someone posted on Visa journey that it takes 12 months from NVC to Embassy and that information sounds strange.

before covid, cases take just days at NVC before they’re shipped to the Lagos embassy, i think it takes several months now for them to ship cases to lagos embassy because of the backlogs caused by covid. Please hang in there. Las las you go dey alright. All the best to you

For those of us currently going through the k1 process, i know the timeline is now crazy, please hang in there. Covid-19 really messed up the timeline. A journey of 5-7 months precovid now takes several months. I’m so sure everything will be fine. All the best to everyone of us

I was missing a Police report of A country I had lived in before and The VISA officer said Congratulations on your Trip..and asked I go get that Police report..But she still gave me a white paper while saying Congrats (White O) ..I then asked the information lady she said I should provide that Document and then the VISA will be given..My own is why didnt they just give the VISA and asked me to provide the Doc later..

Also nobody Talks about when you get the Actual VISA stamped on ur Nigerian Passport. Thanks.

The reason I ask is because I saw that one of the requirements is that we've must have been in relationship for 2 years but we apply. How true?

you have to meet physically at least once within two years prior to you filing, from what you mentioned, you’re very much eligible to file.

once your case is shipped to the US embassy in Lagos, your petitioner or you will receive an email to that effect, once you see “in transit” on your status tracker, go ahead and book an interview date. Kindly note that before you can book an interview date, you’ll have to create an account on ustraveldocs.com and pay the visa fee at any GT bank branch. All the best to you

Hello All. My brother's fiance (US citizen) filed for a fiance visa on September 20 for my brother. Receipt was acknowledged on September 23, 2021 and a Receipt number (starting with WAC....) was sent via text message. Till date, no case number or anything. We used the receipt to track on this website, - https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do - and "Case was received" message acknowledging the receipt of the petition was displayed.

Is this normal? How soon does it take to get a case number or is the receipt number the same as case number? January 23, 2022 will make the 4th month and nothing has been heard. Can someone with a similar experience please responsd.

covid 19 really messed the k1 timeline up, pre-pandemic approval that usually takes 3-4 months now takes 7+ months, please hang in there your approval will come

I just had my interview. It was a success. But I was told to bring the original copy of my birth certificate and submit at the DHL office alongside my passport. I was also told that once I submit them my visa will be ready for collection in 10 days. Will I say I was foolish to have submitted the photocopy? Lol. Anyways I’m excited. Thank you all. Whew! What a journey.

Good day all. I don’t know how to type my concerns. Anyways, my passport is expiring next year July. My interview is next year January. My passport validity will be exactly 6 months on a day before my interview.
Problem:
As soon as I scheduled my interview in July and I got a date for next year, I proceeded to renew my passport cause I no wan hear story(na the story I dey now). August 4th, I completely all I needed for the application , did my biometrics… all the gbogbotigbo. After 3weeks, I came to check the status, they said it’s being processed (don’t remember the word they used). Then a month later I came and status Indicated “no record found”. Ah! I asked the officer, he said it may be a system glitch that it will correct itself and I shouldn’t worry but to come back in another 3weeks. I got there and this thing is still saying “no record found”. Met with some senior officers who did wan thing wan thing on the system. The other one even requested for my file(file that I already submitted). At the end of the day they told me to not worry that my passport will be ready soon. Ready soon on top no record found abi , ok oh. I sha took their words with a grain of salt.
Question:
Provided that I don’t get my passport next month,
What do I do?
Can I postpone my interview?
Should I abort payment for medicals? Cause if I pay for medicals and miss my interview, it will be a waste of money.
Pls I need advice as I’m very unsettled by this. Nigeria wan wound me so.

i don’t know what that means, are you referring to affidavit? Please visit the nearest NPC office and request for ATTESTATION OF BIRTH, that’s the only standard one i know, when coming to the United States ensure you come with both the birth certificate (the sample you posted earlier) and attestation of birth. You’ll need both when adjusting your status

@Shilam i suggest you take down the photo of your birth certificate and maybe reupload blurring your personal details, if you were born after 1991, this is fine at the embassy but if you were born in/before 1991 kindly go with “attestation of birth” obtained from national population commission, i will still advice you go ahead and obtain an attestation of birth regardless of when you were born because you’ll definitely need both during your “Adjustment of status” process after you enter the US. I had my interview today and was approved at the spot. Can't even express my joy, for like 30 mins after my interview I thought I was dreaming, after all my preparation the vo didn't even ask for any documents. It can only be God.....

I almost missed my appointment for 8:30 because I got there 8:25 because of traffic but na God pass them. After I pass security I was called inside to window 3 to submit my documents to a black lady - ds 160, birth certificate, police certificates (Senegal and Nigeria) passport style photo and W-2 forms(2020), petitioner divorced certificate, visa payment receipt, then the lady took my passport and told me to wait, after 30 the VO white guy in his 30s, called my name. This is how it went.

what is your name?
How did you meet?
When did you meet?
Has she visited?
When did she visit?
So you proposed to her when she visited?
Has she made a second trip?
Me: we actually planned a second visit last year but due to codvid it was not possible. (VO typing in the computer for about 2 mins)
VO-
How long have you been in Senegal?
What is your work?
Does she has kids?
Does the kids live with her?
Have you spoken to her kids?
(VO typing in the computer again for about 3 mins)
How do you communicate?
What is your fiance address?
Where are you going in the United States?

Then the magic words follow : come back next week to pick up your visa, he then gave me a ticket. Hurrayyyyyy. Through the interview the VO did not ask for any documents.

Tip: never cease to pray, be confident and maintain good eye contact.

you need to be a little more patient because covid 19 created a lot of backlogs, the last time i asked i-129f cases that were approved in November 2020 are currently being shipped to the embassy in Lagos, hopefully things will start moving faster soon. All the best to you

Hello House, I need to.enquire about this. My fiancee was trying to fill up for affidavit of support and was told she needed her 2017, 2018 & 2019 tax papers ... She was able to contact irs for this and was issued 2018 & 2019 but she said her 2017 they delivered to her was showing 000.00. Can she use 2020 tax to replace 2017 cos she got her 2020 tax paper already and that's what's delaying her fro!m sending down to me. Cos out of 4 weeks to 6weeks stated on NOA 2 Paper that the NVC Letter would arrive next . now my question is is she mailing to me or to NVC??

2018, 2019 and 2020 tax documents ( w2s, returns and transcripts) are perfect, she doesn’t need to mail them to you as that will make her spend extra and also take sometime before you get them, she can easily fill, sign, scan and send them to you via email and you can just print from here, that is acceptable.
