TikTok star and dancer, Siya Kakkar has left her fans devastated after committing suicide at the age of just 16.

The fast-growing Indian star killed herself today at her residence in Preet Vihar, New Delhi.

The news of her death was confirmed by her manager Arjun Sarin, who managed all her work and endorsements

Arjun said, "This must be due to something personal...work-wise she was doing well. I had a word with her last night for a new project and she sounded normal. Me and my company Fame Experts manage lots of artists and Siya was a bright talent. I am heading to her home in Preet Vihar."

Photographer Viral Bhayani also wrote in an Instagram post, "Sad news 16-year-old sweet tik-toker @siya_kakkar died by suicide . Before publishing this I spoke to her Talent management agency head Arjun Sarin who just spoke to her last night for a song collaboration and he says she was in a good mood and perfectly alright. Even he has no clue what went wrong that she had to go this way. You go through her videos and you can she was so good in her content, it's really sad that she chose this path. If you are feeling depressed please don't do this (sic)."

Siya Kakkar was very active on social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube and was known for her dance videos. She had over 104k followers on Instagram and over 1.1 million followers on TikTok.

A former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, is dead. The 70-year-old, who had been on a life support machine since last Friday at First Cardiology Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos, after slipping into a coma following Coronavirus complications, finally died on Thursday, according to findings by SaharaReporters.

On Monday, a reliable source close to the ex-governor had told SaharaReporters that Ajimobi had been on life support machine after he slipped into a deep coma and may not make any recovery going by the observations of medical experts around him.

The source further disclosed that the former Oyo governor had a lung surgery since being rushed to the Lagos hospital but made no progress while his kidneys had also failed.

Doctors treating Ajimobi, it was reliably gathered, last Friday informed his family that his situation had defied every medical intervention and that only a miracle could bring him back to life.

Those projections came true on Thursday as the ex-governor finally succumbed to the virus that has also killed several prominent Nigerians including late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, who was also treated for the disease at First Cardiology Hospital until he died.

Brian Omondi, who was born with HIV, started taking anti-retroviral (ARV) pills when he was 10. However, it was not until he was 14 when his mother had died that he realised what the pills were for.

Now 22 and an HIV activist working with a church group, he says his condition was not picked up at birth. During his early years growing up in the coastal city of Mombasa he remembers being unwell:

"I was sick most of the time but the condition worsened, so my mum decided that I should get tested. That is when I tested positive and started taking the ARVs, but my mum never told me why I was taking those drugs."

It was when he went to live with his aunt, after his mother died, that neighbours in the close-knit community got wind of his HIV status and his peers began mocking him. Parents will often warn their children about playing with those who have HIV.

"I remember this girl in high school, we met in person and she addressed me as: 'You HIV person.' This hurt me."

Dr Griffins Mang'uro says it is also important for guardians to be more open and tell children their HIV status - when they are between the ages of nine and 11.

"As soon as a child understands what HIV is, what disease is, then that is the right age to break the news to them that they are infected and that they need to take medication. The thing is, as soon as a child takes any medication then they should know that they are HIV-positive and they are taking medication for HIV.

He warns that to leave them in the dark also puts them at risk as they may not take the medication properly.

"Or they might grow resentful in future because they were not told early."

A rare durian fruit is causing a stir in Indonesia, where the pungent delicacy is selling for the equivalent of $1,000 each, or more than three times the average monthly wage.



The so-called “J-Queen” variety has gone sale at a shopping centre in Tasikmalaya, West Java – where several are on display in clear boxes atop red satin and adorned in fake flowers – with an accompanying price tag of 14m rupiah, or about £750.

The average monthly wage in Indonesia is about 3.94m rupiah, according to data from the manpower ministry.News of the ostensibly rare durian has spread quickly in Indonesia, with social media users deriding its fantastical price tag, and locals flocking to the supermarket to snap a photograph alongside the spiky, pungent smelling fruit, considered a delicacy across much of south-east Asia.

A 6-month-old baby girl passed away after she was allegedly fed forcefully by a staff at the creche on Wednesday, January 2, around 1pm.



According to a source identified as Prince Adetoye Adeyileka, the little girl was left at the creche by her parents when they headed to work in the morning. The baby was reported to have gone into coma after she was fed.

The staff at the creche did not seek medical help immediately the baby went into coma. The 6-month-old baby girl’s parents were identified as The Olalekes. It was gathered that the tragic incident had occurred at a creche in Ajanaku street at Opebi off Salvation in Ikeja area of Lagos state. .

It was until the parents arrived at the creche that was when the baby was rushed to the hospital. The man alleged that doctors had requested to meet the staff who fed the baby girl.

Regulators have recalled thousands of blood pressure pills from pharmacies amid fears they could cause cancer. 

Four types of medications branded as Irbesartan Hydrochlorothiazide have been pulled from shelves because they could contain a carcinogenic ingredient once used in rocket fuel.

It is the latest in a batch of recalls affecting blood pressure drugs and could impact thousands of patients with hypertension – the medical term for high blood pressure.

Officials have yet to explain how the contamination may have occurred - but changes in the manufacturing process were blamed for producing the same potent chemical in other pills that have been recalled worldwide.
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) today announced it pulled four batches of the tablets as a 'precautionary measure’ due to possible N nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA) contamination.
