If someone's CAPS portal is still stuck at "Admissions in Progress" till now, is there any hope of it changing to accepted? Or should they just take another utme form? |

Freshigur: There's no specified average score for any course in Buk, but 270+ won't be bad for BDS. You should also have it in mind that BDS is highly competitive given that they admit a small percentage of the applicants. Here, they're just 19 in numbers , 2018/2019 sect. Thank you so much! |

Thanks for your help. itzzkhaliii: They mostly consider average i.e(p-utme+jamb score ➗ divided by 2)but in the portal they use to write 220 but it depends with the entire aspirants performance in that year.I will advice you to go for 280+ if you are not in their catchment area and an average of 260+ is general for both MBBS and BDS.. Hope this help a little |

You might be right, though I hope you aren't because I might not be able to be in Nigeria on time. I will try and mail them as you suggested and see what's what. Thanks. horpeyemmi66: Here's my candid opinion, to begin with, the Bayero University Kano isn't one of the Higher institutions of learning in Nigeria that do not conduct post utme. So, it would be quite erroneous of one to lay back and not come write their post utme. If one doesn’t, it's tantamount to not even sitting for the UTME.
Be that as it may, universities like those of Maiduguri and Jos do not conduct postutmes. All you need do is pay and apply online uploading necessary credentials and documents when it's time for their virtual screenings.
Why don't you attempt mailing JAMB and the BUK(it might be a futile effort, most of these institutions have mailbags that are in a state of limbo) as regards your cause and it's feasibility.
Kindly quote me when you get any correspondence from either or both of them. |

That's my fear. But it says on the website that foreigners and Nigerians abroad as well as the visually impaired don't have to sit for post utme, and when we registered at the General Consulate, where we sat for utme, they never once mentioned that we'll sit for the test. BUK's website is the worst, there is very little information on it. horpeyemmi66: Are you aware you have to come sit for the Post Utme exam?
It's a first having to see that you only have to beat the general cut-off mark and you're as good as admitted. My advice, many things written online are not actually the obtainable standard in real-time Nigeria. |

Thanks bro, I'm leaning towards dentistry because it's good for me in the long run (I've been doing research since early secondary school days). And since I get to watch my shows either way then I'll stick to it. ISISs: Don't be confused bruh, don't mix medicine and dentistry, don't substitute one for another..u might regret at the end of the day.
Choose one that u have passion for and read terribly hard for it. It is 6ix years. Once u are done, I am not sure u will regret it.
Pay comes in cool. Pending on which ever u choose, u'll have time to watch GOT! |

horpeyemmi66: Why Medicine or Dentistry? It should be either of them, neither is in any way inferior to the other, ok. What was your UTME score? I want to study dentistry but dutse doesn't offer it. My second choice is currently biochemistry at dutse, and I'm thinking about doing change of institution/course. My score is 232 but I took the utme exam at a foreign country so I only need to score the minimum score for the school (according to JAMB website). |

Psalmist123: I don't get your point... but I think Jamb is only done in Nigeria It is done in several countries outside of Nigeria. (Benin Republic, Cameroun, Ghana, Cote D'ivoire, Ethopia, South Africa, Britain, Saudi Arabia). You take the exam abroad so you could get into Nigerian universities. |
