tahir01:nigcomsat is the least elevation angle 22.1 Dstv 29.3 Astra 37.7 this are the real elevation angle no subtraction no addition. |
tahir01:nigcomsat is at 98 degree east, multi to 100.2 degree east, while Astra 28.2 is at 103.9 degree east Then nigcomsat is at the left, your primary 28.2 Center then 103.9 right, ie nigcomsat 98, Dstv 100.2 Ghana 103.9 |
trewbless:sorry which email did u used please I can't trace ur name there but I have replied to one mail now, I don't know if that is yours, pls check or if possible resend the mail I will respond to it now am on my inbox now. |
hotobo:oh am sorry I didn't know , let me check the mail now. am very sorry for that. |
Please follow the following steps carefully to get your stationary system installed quickly. If you have any questions, feel free to post it in the Nairaland forum members will respond to your question(s) immediately (1) Azimuth (Magnetic): is the angle relating to the horizontal positioning of the dish. The angle is expressed in terms of degrees, with North = 0 degrees, South = 180 degrees. Use your compass to aim dish at that angle. (2) Elevation: is the angle above the horizon, and is also expressed in terms of degrees. This is the angle by which the dish must be "tilted Up or Down" in relation to the theoretical horizon, in order to position it precisely for the desired satellite. (3) LNBF Skew: It is important to adjust the LNBF skew for stationary dishes. Learn more here! When adjusting your LNBF, be sure you don't leave that LNBF holding bracket loose. The LNBF won't pick up the satellite if the bracket is loose, and it's slightly off. Finally, when thinking about degrees, remember that 30 degrees is about 5 minutes on a clock. Don't turn the LNB too much! Make certain that the pole or tri-mast assembly is vertically plumb. Check it with an Angle Finder or a level. If the pole or tri-mast is not plumb, your azimuth and elevation will not be accurate and will cause difficulty when pointing the dish. Also, if you are using a pole mount, make certain you pour a sufficient footing that will provide proper ballast. A pole that does not have sufficient ballast will lean over time, causing you to lose the signal. Your mount must be very strong and can not wobble. You must use at least 4 lag screws (correct size for your installation) in the base mount one on each corner. When pointing the satellite dish, allow 5-10 seconds between any movements of the dish. This allows the receiver to complete a signal scan, and lock indicating that you have located the signal. A reasonable signal strength is between 50 and 80. If it is lower than that range, you are either pointing into an object (e.g. trees, shrubs, or structures) or pointing above or below the satellite. Your antenna installation position must have a clear view angle of the satellite you are trying to receive. There are other satellites within 2 degrees to the left or right that may use the same frequency. This will provide a strong signal strength reading but no signal quality or signal lock. If you have a high strength reading but are not able to lock on, try adjusting the dish slightly to the right or left. When you are attempting to set up a satellite dish in a heavily wooded area or one with lots of man made obstructions, it helps to understand how the dish really works. One common misconception is that the dish points 'directly' at the satellite. This isn't the case for most dish designs. The apparent elevation of the dish is 22 or more degrees lower than it's actual receiving window. If you complete the above steps properly, your chance of a successful installation is 99.9%. and you are trying to aim your dish that the receiver waits about 3-5 seconds after it locks on to the correct signal before it registers on the receiver's signal meter on the antenna aiming screen on your TV. Move your dish in very small increments (2 deg East or West each instance until you find the signal then 1 deg to peak signal). If you move the dish too fast and do not pause between moves you might go thru the signal before the receiver can tell you that you are on the signal. If you use a signal meter you can hook it into the system right at the dish and it responds to the signal immediately making it much easier to aim your dish. You do not need any one else to help you if you use a meter at the dish. |
agborodun:if that is the case call me on phone or u emai me and I will reply u back |
jobbers:the signal has increased tremediously now, I believed that was while it was difficult for people to track earlier before now .its working fine now, I was surprised when I got home this night my signal that was just 44% yesterday had increased to 80% plus |
Chinedu7:I am not taking it personal, people have satlink meters which they are using, is just that I decided to buy this expensive one for my job now and future ambition, and am really enjoying it, the compass and the angle finder which is the inclinometer is not expensive all that much, I even told people if they cannot afford it they download the compass in their phone that it will help them a lot, my friend why I decided to replied to ur comment was that u said I need more knowledge which of course is true, I am learning every day even here in nairaland.we are all learning no one is an island, that fact is that some of us always want to castigate people that they know more than everybody which is not a good reputation at all. Well am a christian I don't easily pick offence from people, because we all have different characters based on the fact we all are from different background. Well if I have offended u in my speech forgive me we are still together. |
trewbless:I am into downlink equipment installation, Vsat installation, Cctv/IP cameras installations and hotspot configuration etc, these are the major reasons while I acquired those items and there are lot more on the way, I don't sell, and remember dish installation is not limited to ku band based on your explanation. My friend like I have earlier said I am a government worker and into many businesses I have the money to acquire whatever I want and it is an assets to me, remember the world is going digital we all need to move along, we need to be dynamic and not to remained static. |
Chinedu7:well for those who know me well, they can tell of me, I have been into installation business over ten to twelve years, whether tools or no tools I install dish of all kinds I am only just telling u if u want to take installation of satellite dish as a carrier, there is need for u to get the necessary tools to help u track and align ur dish easily, I am not selling tools neither am compelling u to come and buy from me, when I Was in warri delta state I was running a cable business then I was having over 400 people I Supplied cable tv to which they use in their houses, I supplied general hospital warri, Npa, Ijaw quarters, water board and A' Division police barracks, I never hired anybody to come and assist me for any installation, neither will I ever do that, I,did not take installation of satellite dish as a carrier , Am a senior police office still in the service , seeing me here in the Nairaland does not mean i am looking for somebody to give me a job of dish installation ,I am only trying to give out the little idea I have to other who may have not know or have known and still willing to learn the more, my friend since u are a professional installer that does not need any tools before installing a satellite dish , let those who feel they need the tools enhance their prfessionaliism be. Anyway thanks for ur advised and Have a nice day. |

trewbless:so u mean up till now u have not still been able to track ur nigcomsat signal. |

I think 4669x will be easy for u to track Meanwhile I preferred 4950, u can use any decoder to track satellite signal. |

trewbless:Try and get the necessary tools to make satellite installion a piece of bread for u, compass and inclinometer( angle finder). |
akpasrolly:here is ur information to get bird hunt down Address: Ughelli delta state Latitude: 5.5002° Longitude: 5.9938° Satellite: 42.5E NIGCOMSAT 1R Elevation: 47.2° Azimuth (true): 97.4° Azimuth (magn.): 99.4° |
This is the reasons while I always lay emphases on getting all the require tools for satellite dish installation, please be patient to examine the information below on nigcomsat dish align at different state in nigeria Address: Lagos nigeria Latitude: 6.5244° Longitude: 3.3792° Satellite: 42.5E NIGCOMSAT 1R Elevation: 44.2° Azimuth (true): 98.0° Azimuth (magn.): 100.4° Address: Warri delta Latitude: 5.5544° Longitude: 5.7932° Satellite: 42.5E NIGCOMSAT 1R Elevation: 47.0° Azimuth (true): 97.4° Azimuth (magn.): 99.5° Address: Kaduna Latitude: 10.5105° Longitude: 7.4165° Satellite: 42.5E NIGCOMSAT 1R Elevation: 47.7° Azimuth (true): 104.6° Azimuth (magn.): 105.3° Address: Enugu Latitude: 6.4584° Longitude: 7.5464° Satellite: 42.5E NIGCOMSAT 1R Elevation: 48.8° Azimuth (true): 99.1° Azimuth (magn.): 100.6° And so also their respective lnb skew are different , so staying here in lagos and start telling them to turn their lnb to 8,9,12 or 7,2 o'clock is abnormal. |
akpasrolly:where are u in delta? Am asking so that I can calculate the exact location and send it back to u, my was in delta A' Division warri for years and I was operating cable over there, popularly known as darbcom entertainment . That is the steps u take for successful installation of ur nigcomsat if u are in warri an environ, if u can do it yourself get an available installer in ur area to do it for u pls, I wish u all the best. Address: Warri delta Latitude: 5.5544° Longitude: 5.7932° Satellite: 42.5E NIGCOMSAT 1R Elevation: 47.0° Azimuth (true): 97.4° Azimuth (magn.): 99.5° LNB skew is necessary for signal mazimization |
Oguguolouis:you can since the satellite are close to each other |
agborodun:those are the things u needed to setup ur motorise and get the entire arc tracked |
Dlee1:thank u very much am greatful ,God bless u |
Oguguolouis:my fellow great men in the house can any body give me Dstv actual satellite location, I want to add it to the list of satellite in my meter, I mean the obits location. |
Oguguolouis: |
Oguguolouis:so,is showing at ur end now right ,because is showing in my house now |
knight23:when u stand behind the dish ur positive turning is right while negative turning is left, but I would always advised u make use of ur dish pointer.com to know ur accurate lnb skew, because ur location might be different from the person directing u, I sited one of such example in one of my write up. This description applies to linear polarisation with names: Horizontal and Vertical. Prior to attempting to point the dish at the satellite you need to pre-set the polarisation. The polarisation refers the axial rotation of the feed horn/LNB/BUC assembly at the front of the dish. There will be some kind of clamp around the feed throat which may be loosened sufficiently to allow the feed assembly to be rotated. There may be a tiny scale, possibly marked + and - either side of central. Ignore the + and - signs and concentrate just on the scale steps, try to determine how many degrees between each tick mark, perhaps 10 or 15 deg ? Quarter of a turn = 90 deg. In some cases the entire dish needs to be rotated to set the polarisation. There will be a large circular scale behind the dish. |
Oguguolouis:u mean u could not get the nigcomsat uptil now, if that is the case flash me now on 08068848440 let me call u now. |
This image is for those asking for protractor, probably before you get your inclinometer or protractor u could be making use of this for the time been You need to print out the image below and stick it onto a piece of cardboard. Make a pinhole at the apex (centre of the small circle, near top left corner) and insert a length of strong sewing thread. Behind the card use sticky tape to secure the thread. At the front, attach a small weight, such as a 15mm or 1/2 inch metal nut, to the end of the thread, approx 20 cm or 8 inches long, so the weight dangles down past the lower edge of the inclinometer, so that it can move freely then after u have done that we will now now use it to set up a satellite dish of our choice, I will tell us how we can calculate our offset angle in our offset dish at our disposal, first of all let get this thing done accurately. I have an old 2.5 mesh dish is still good, my landlady had given me notice to vacate her house, anyone interested and and lived around can come and carry it free of charge I have already dismantled it.

philipbash:Ok thanks U, I will check up with my 90m dish again today this evening since I have the satellite scanned into my meter already then. Thanks for ur info pls. |
logonlaredo:Ok no problem my lovely brother ,now I understand what u mean, so please we are together and I believe with togetherness we all shall make nairaland proud. |
