life707:thank u my beloved brother life707, we all shall make the nairaland a of priority |
spartacus11:Thank my brother I will continue to give out my opinion because those who are willing to learn ,I appreciate. |
graphicicon:if u need it I can assist u to get them, meanwhile u can call me on zero/eight/zero/6/perfection number/nine/4/nine8nine8 so that we can talk. |
Nkdave:I think I made reference to nigcomsat the other day, a member was telling me he is in doubt if really I am a good installer as I claimed, I used my 90m dish to track it in my area the the signal came up, but was blinking up and down, when somebody asked I said it has not come up, the person said why do we always want to be negative that it was on, that it came up in the evening or so, but I don't want to argued with him, because I was in my place of work ,immediately I got home I tried it with the same 90m dish the signal was sill blinking up and down in at my end, I can't tell what it will look like in ur area anyway, but I want ahead to motorised it with my 1.8m and it was actually on air. So Imdomt think 90m dish will work on it except otherwise, below is the images I snapped on it

paulowas:Thank you very much my good brother, Imreallt appreciate your advised and the courage u have shire up in me, I can see people like u and me are willing to learn in respective of what we might have learn and know before now, my brother I have learned so many things yet I am still learning, because am willing to know more than I have known, take for example the comment of logonlaredo that he has known everything in the forum 1-5 and in this present one, that he has all the satellite the dish he has the capability of given him, that I am confusing the people am given my information to. Can u imagine that statement? That was while I told him that in higher institution a lecturer will come to the lecture class or Hall and introduce a course to the class and if u are willing to learn u stay and if u are not willing u leave and others who are willing will stay and learn, the forum is not giving me money neither did I asked any of our member to give me money, I have been here for over one year I remained inactive I mean not speaking out, I was just reading the comment or write up of other member and leaning, I just decided to create awareness for people to know that installation of satellite dish can be made easy if we all know how to calculate our azimuth, elevation, offset angle, declination angle and calculate the distance of the particular satellite we are trying to align our dish to.I have made up my mind not to reply anybody question or tell anybody the way forward, but rather I will be reading and learning from other people question and answer given to them as regard to their question. I could vividly remember when I was in secondary school when a mathematics teacher comes in to the class I work out because of the hatred I had for mathematics during exams I will try to see I pass the maths anyhow, but when I entered university the course I was into demanded knowledge of mathematics, then I now realised the mistake I made in my secondary school where I was supposed to learn it. My brother if u are for get at me on my facebook chat on ehisokosu2004@yahoo.com or peradventure call me on my phone so that we can always have our discussion over there, to avoid people disrepecting me here in nairaland. |
logonlaredo:ok am sorry for that, one thing is that we keep learning, even in school some lecturers will come and introduce some topic to u which u have never know or learn before if u are interested u give audience if u are not u walk away, am talking of higher institutions, u have the option. I hope u understand what am saying, well don't be offended if u are readily available I wouldn't mind to come to ur place and learn something from u, I believe this forum is a place where people share what they have and we learn from each other, I want to learn more that is why I came into this forum. |
logonlaredo:see the elevation of this particular satellite was 63 degree, and when u set the angle of elevation at 63 degree u won't hit at the satellite , therefore u have to minus ur dish offset angle from ur true elevation of 63 degree to hit at the satellite, if u are on facebook just search for me and add me as ur friend I will explain better to u, my facebook address I'd ehisokosun2004@yahoo.com

bbally:Do u have inclinometer, if u do just place it at the back of ur dish and adjust the dish elevation to 22.1,then turn ur dish to azimuth of 98.1 degree u are there |
HIGHESTPOPORI:what channels can u watch on it? Sorry the message is not for u pls |
HIGHESTPOPORI:3756 H 3775 and 3777 H 3775 with die-electric plate in your LNB |
Nkdave:it should be they are all Nigerian channels, is it because they are on cband, if u have 1.8 u can try it urself there is no harm in trial.is it not 33e @60 degree east? here is the information on how u can track it Address: kaduna nigeria Latitude: 10.5105° Longitude: 7.4165° Satellite: 60E INTELSAT 33E (IS-33E) | INTELSAT 904 (IS-904) Elevation: 29.1° Azimuth (true): 97.9° Azimuth (magn.): 98.7° if u are motoring it u use this information Motor Latitude: 10.5° Declination Angle: 1.9° Dish Elevation: --° Azimuth (true): 180.0° Azimuth (magn.): 180.8° |
Folbim:which one do u said u want buy application or the satlink meter, well u can give me a call 08067949898, I believed I have already sent u a link where u can place an order. |
routsz:I downloaded it on my ipad and the list of all satellite are there as well |
Talibanis:I need a decoder that can open all lock channels for me in all the satellite. thanks |
agborodun:you need the dish itsel, decoder, actuator jack, positioner, LNB ku or cband, F connectors cat5 cable and coax cable. |
bbally:use this information to track it by urself Address: Ikotodu lagos Latitude: 6.6194° Longitude: 3.5105° Satellite: 42.5E NIGCOMSAT 1R Elevation: 44.3° Azimuth (true): 98.1° Azimuth (magn.): 100.5° But ur true elevation will be 44.3-22 which will give u 22.3 You can click and drag the marker zoom in | zoom out |
routsz:do u have satellite HD though am using I pad the application is very clear to u, is quite different from the one From that satellite director, I used www.dishpoint always with my normal compass and inclinometer and it worked for me so much, one thing is that u must subtract ur offset angle to get ur true angle of elevation, just like when u are tracking the entire arc, after getting ur true angle of elevation u minus ur declination angle to get the real angle u position ur dish on. Unless u don't know how to use it well. But do u know how to get ur offset angle in an offset dish? And do u have inclinometer as well if u have it make installation easy for u. |
Musty18:belt naija is at SES-5 @4.8E with freq. 11919 sr 27500 polarization H |
hotobo:Try this one 12616 sr 12499 or u try get it at flysat.ng.com |
mecussey:My brother I hope are not angry with me oh? |
trewbless:If u want to download app, download dish align from ur andriod market , that one is just to give u the azimuth direction is like compass ,that is if u don't have the hardware ,I mean the real compass |
Oguguolouis:which app are u talking about pls? Just type in the location u are then click on the satellite list and select ur desire satellite and click go ,it will give all the information on that particular satellite . There is one u can download , but this www.dishpointer.com just type it in any of ur search engine it will open. Like the information I sent to u now for nigcomsat just subtract ur offset angle from that true elevation that will be the desire angle of ur nigcomsat |
dsleezy:i didn't say that was the position of nigcomsat I was only trying to let u know I tried to check on it yesterday morning. The azimuth is at 42.5e Address: Egbeda lagos Latitude: 6.5916° Longitude: 3.2911° Satellite: 42.5E NIGCOMSAT 1R Or Am I not right? Elevation: 44.1° Azimuth (true): 98.0° Azimuth (magn.): 100.5° You can click and drag the marker zoom in | zoom out |
logonlaredo:you mean it came up in the evening, it was around 7:20 I tried it at my end yesterday and it was not on, but since yesterday 9am till this morning as I was leaving home we don't have light in my area. Thanks for the information pls. |
HIGHESTPOPORI:you mean nigcomsat? is 12518/29500 |
sauceEEP:when did it came up yesterday? |
bbally:capital NO |
Talibanis:hahahaha, well there is nothing that cannot happen, if God is by ur side, most time I do some research on any satellite to see if I could be able to come up with something useful to all our members and the society in general, white men never tired of going into research, my brother try and get a bigger dish like 3m dish and keep on with research God is by ur side ,I need people like u to work with, but always try to use www.dishpointer.com it will give u the distance where the satellite is beaming from. |
bbally:my dear is not working, someone told me in the forum yesterday that it has come up ,when I got home I connected my signal meter to confirm what he was telling me, the signal was blinking up and Down u cannot even use it to scan ur decoder.
|
arbourboateng:The one I saw on my own is Betradar and not Betfred , u can conform from the author who says he has Betfred, I have said earlier am not football fans, I don't even know the name of NIGERIAN foot ballets neither do I watch football, when u have a satellite that shows foot ball or whatever just give me the name and the obits location I track it out and get back to in fact I don't like ball, I don't hate people that watch foot ball. |
cabes:Don't worry as soon as I get the information handy I will get back at u. |
When aligning a dish, you need to know the look angles such as the azimuth, elevation and LNB skew. These are all specific to your location and the chosen satellite. The azimuth tells you the direction in which to point the antenna. The elevation is the vertical lift, and the LNB skew is the polarization of the signal, or in other words by how much you have to rotate the LNB. If you have a multi-lnb dish, you tilt the whole dish rather than tilting the LNB. Once you’ve obtained all these values from this site, preset the elevation and dish skew and point the dish at a landmark indicated by the alignment line on the map. You’ll already be over half the way there. On the receiver, check the satellite signal strength and the network ID of the transponder; it should match the satellite you intend to receive. Move the dish slightly to the left/right and up/down in very small steps and very slowly and watch the signal strength bar on the receiver to do the fine-tuning. Finally, tweak the LNB skew for maximum signal quality. For a multi-lnb setup, the procedure is the same as the standard installation only you need to tilt the dish and connect the LNBFs with a multi-switch. You should also do the LOS for each satellite you want to receive bearing in mind that the signal comes from a different direction than the one where the dish points to. |
