@ Yamakuza, Wonder how many other People realise U have an Alterego on NL? |
Wolfetone, We dont have Pubs. We have Bars/Lounges/Joints. A lot of drinking takes place in Bars owned & domiciled in Hotels. Characterised by Higher prices for beer-We're a beer country- Spirits & wine also served. More variety on the spirits than the wine. we've got lounges. Larger structures than Hotel bars mostly. same price characteristics. But also serving food. Spicy stuff mostly. soups/nibblets. sometimes wholesome food. Lastly, Joints. small.Plentiful. cheap beer. buy spirits & wine at your risk. soups en masse. All 3 double as Football viewing centers except the most exclusive. All drinks are bought from distributors. only interaction with Goverment is Licensing( first 2 categories) & Taxes( all categories) The market is there. Just tropicalise it. Location. Location. Location. Then Service. Service. Service. hope this helps. |
Naah, This guy is a Nigerian pretending not to be. if he was anything else, his superior attitude would have led him to post it-He certainly isnt shy. 2ndly, His language construct is like nothing I've ever heard or read and I've heard a few. He makes mistakes common to Phillipine & Russian english speakers and I dont mind saying thats a pretty weird combo. I wish the Moderator would look at his/her system ID. Wont be surprised if its one of our own homegrown Agent Provocateurs. God knows we got some real champions on NL. |
@Yamakuza, I know what You do every summer! |
Yes. We will pay for Parking. But a few caveats. Parking in Lagos is a value added service that most organisations provide for free. Mostly. The whole of Lagos island is dotted with financial/Trading institutions. They provide parking for Executive & Management staff & selected clientele. Lower staff are bused in & out. This wont change for a while. With new developments in Transport Infrastructure-Read LAMATA- An avenue has been provided for private capital & enterprise to provide parking around transportation nodes. Go to LAMATA website for more info on this. Points to note will be price competitiveness( Duration of ROI), Location & Design ingenuity(With design ingenuity, Large space is not a Prerequisite) Lastly, U'll be a pioneer. Government interface would be high. Skills in Government Relations will be needed. Cost?? Should be the least concern for now. If U get the right mix of location/first starter advantage, the plan will be funded commercially. My Tuppence. |
Commendable, Jarus. If I may, some cash saving tips. 1) Get in quotes several months ahead. excepting cement, its a myth that Building materials fluctuate widely in Nigeria. By getting quotes in ahead, You keep prospective contractors for different jobs on their toes & waiting for you instead of the other way round. People will give you a quote in January & execute the job in August without variation. This is my personal experience. 2) Spend some time educating yourself. 1 hour in a plumbing/Electrical/Paint shop will save U money. All bills are made up of three Parts. Materials Cost. Labor Cost. Contractor's Overhead/Profit. Educating yourself can save you money on the third. 3) Prequalify your Contractors. have repeated meetings. Bring them to site often as you can. The ones who will mess you up will show their hand sooner or later. 4) Timing is critical. Contracts negotiated within certain times of the year are cheaper. Eg, Do your plastering in December. Most bricklayers are idle then. Dont paint in December. Good painters are booked to their eyebrows then. 5) Reduce everything to units of measurement. Use cost/m2 as much as you can. God will stand by You. |

Could have sworn I've seen one of these Models with Auto Drive Before? So many Manual ones I wonder if I wasnt seeing things! |
Chairman, Saying a Thing repeatedly dont always bring it to pass. This is D Problem. D Car U want is a workhorse. Though 14-17yrs Old, they continue to perform creditably. Its still being imported as we speak which means newer ones are entering with some regularity. D new ones are entering at 600-750k. U want someone to sell at 350k. Secondly, look at the People who drive them. Mostly, middle aged people. Wives especially (Its a fantastic School Runs Car). Steady income, not given to impulsive selling. D people who sell their cars most are Young People. Not D carina 2 crowd. Even if U find one, it will be a hatchback. D sedans are treasured by the owners. Some advice. Check Iyana Ipaja to Sango axis. Look 4 D ones being Driven & being advertised for sale. My 2pence. |
Sultaan, I got too much respect 4 U to counter everything U ever said in ur last Post. I'm going to assume U were having an off day. Every Car under 500K has a Problem? Comon Dude! Any Car under 1.2m aint worth buying? Half the Posts on dis website carry cars worth less than 1.2M. That makes the Dealers Frauds & their Buyers Fools. Not Nice at All. |
storm 1 or 2 pls. pls reply |
Kindly advice if 30k is acceptable. I stay in Lagos. How to reach U? |
Look again Shade. There are cars of 100k/270/220k on Nairaland. They may not be Ur Spec, But they are there. Dont be afraid to get to Pages 20 & Above. The best Deals are often tucked away. On this Forum there is a QX4 for 800k asking Price A Skoda Octavia was just sold for <270k There are BMWs for slightly above 200k Nissan Almerias for under 300k. Look Again. |
