I've made modifications.


As long as your inventory includes the following:

Toyota Camry '96 - '11-Yes
Toyota Corolla '98 - '11-Yes
Honda Accord '98 - '11-Yes
Most Japanese SUV's '98 -'11- Closer to 98 than 2011 will get U better results.
BMW, different models, SUV, saloon cars '98 - '11- Again, Perception is a problem. Newer BMWs are best bought new here. Cant go wrong with 93-98 5series
Stay away from shipping in used 7series.
VW Golf '98 - '11-Yes. Resale value for most Golf 4s is amazingly low though & buyers know this now.
VW Bora '99 - '04- Emptor Caveat
VW Jetta '98 - '11-Emptor Caveat
Most small / medium size Peugeot '98 - '11-Good Lord, No! We've them on the road cos the Military & Paramilitary officers get them at reduced rates. Goverment continues to buy of the PAN assembly in Kaduna. PS: All 607S I've seen for resale recently went for under 700K. Yeah, 607s!.

Nigerians like extras, so must include:

Factory clima / aircon.
Electric windows.
Electric mirrors.
Central locking. AGREED
Power steering.
Automatic transmission (very important).
Leather (optional).

In regular cars, 4 cylinder engines is the preferred choice, with SUV's, not too important- Truer words were never spoken!

Inspired's Comment about looking for a specialised mechanic to fix ur BMW is not the whole truth. Do U take Japanese cars to a Volvo specialist? All cars require specialised mechanics nowadays. Not just BMWs.

What Do U feel? Whats important to U? what will piss U off if U make the wrong Choice? What will U feel for the final choice of car in 2years time?

I predict the Following;-
1) U will find more C Class cars than Octavias.
2) Except U buy from Stallion? U'll hardly find a Toks Octavia just sitting in a car Lot
3) U wont be able to reconcile the Price Difference between Both.

U say its not D final Price, but so many readers already disqualify themselves simply by the Price Tag. And guess what, When they disqualify themselves,they reduce ur available market size.
I dont care if the engine's been modified by Brabus,Its still a ford Mondeo. U couldnt find 1000 of dem on Nigerian roads cos we dont understand them & have low awareness of them.

If it was a wagon,I'll be seriously interested.
I recognise that People are not so familiar with Skodas here.
But its not just Here. Looking thru Honest John car reviews,Even in England,A Golf Badged car is perceived better than a Skoda. Turns out its A Snob appeal thing. Skodas just aint cool enough for some.
Check american car sales/reviews websites. Skoda is not even Listed.

U can only do D 2 succesfully side by side if U have ur Business in Ikeja or D Island. Outside the Island, Paving stone business is not Fantastic. It helps to have a Lorry for Deliveries.
Pay more attention to Quality. People are particular about their Blocks & stones nowadays.
Location is so key.
But U probably knew dis already.

What Gears would U scrap?

I recently put a Volvo engine in a Volkswagen LT Bus.
Biggest headache is the Synchronization of the Gear.
I now find myself without a Gear 4&5.
Its tough, but Life is Tougher.
It got me thinking. If U had a manual 5speed + reverse, & U had to lose any two gears, which would U lose?
My Answer:
Scrap Gear 3- If i increase speed to max in Gear 2 & downshift into 4, I can make it work.
Scrap Gear 5-I've never spent more than 4mins straight in Gear 5 at any time within Lagos anyway!

What Gears would
