Suspected members of the Badoo cult early Friday morning killed two lovers in their apartment in Ogun State.

According to Punch -the heads of the victims were smashed.

The incident happened at a storey building located on Hassan Abiodun Street, off Ojodu Berger, in Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

Many of the residents could not be consoled as policemen from Ojodu Abiodun Division took away the remains of the deceased for onward transfer to the General Hospital Sagamu.

It was futher reveal that the victims were to be officially married in December.

“The lady recently lost her father and the man she was to marry only came on a visit. She was a tall, beautiful lady and was also pregnant, ” the resident said.

It was gathered that their assailants tore the window net to gain entry and thereafter smashed the lovers’ heads.

Another resident said none of the tenants knew what happened until daybreak.

The resident said, “There is a police officer who lives next door to the deceased’s Boy’s Quarter. He did not hear anything. It is very sad and this development will create panic in the area.”

Our correspondent observed that the police station is a stone’s throw from where the murder took place even as residents said vigilantes patrol the street every night.

The police also arrested a man who tried to take a picture of their van and the vehicle the victims were put in.

As of 11 am the occupants of the building were still crying at the frontage.

The spokesperson for the police in Ogun, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, could not be reached for comments as his mobile indicated that it was switched off.

Politics / Photos: Fayose Storms Zenith Bank, Withdraws N5m From ‘frozen Account by troylaurenz: 7:05am On Dec 16, 2016
It will be recalled that the personal accounts of Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and those of some of his associates have been frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The action immediately prompted diverse reactions with a large majority of lawyers and Nigerians contacted affirming the validity of the commission freezing a governor’s account, but only upon the orders of a court

You cannot tell me my hard earned cash is frozen when i'm not MMM

However on tuesday, 13th December, 2016, a Federal High Court in Ado Ekiti ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes commission, EFCC, to unfreeze all blocked accounts belonging to Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.

The judge, Taiwo Taiwo, said the decision of the commission to freeze the account, without considering first the arguments or opinion of Mr. Fayose on the matter, amounted to abuse of the defendant’s fundamental rights to fair hearing

Politics / Ojokwu Did Not See The Nigeria Of His Dreams, Will We ? - Femi Adesina by troylaurenz: 4:03am On Dec 10, 2016
In December 2009, I was at Aburi, while holidaying in Ghana. We Nigerians call it A-b-u-r-i, but the Ghanaians pronounce it as E-b-r-i. For those who have read widely about the civil war that we fought between 1967 and 1970, Aburi is a significant place. This was what I wrote about Aburi, after returning from that journey: “Aburi. Beautiful, serene Aburi, set daintily atop a hill. It is home to a botanical garden that is 119 years old. But for us in Nigeria, Aburi goes beyond just nature and its preservation. It is the town where General Yakubu Gowon and Odumegwu Ojukwu met, to try and avert the Nigerian Civil War that lasted between 1967 and 1970. They came out with Aburi Accord, which later broke down. And a shooting war started. You could see the Presidential Lodge on a hill, where the Nigerian leaders had parleyed at the behest of Ghanaian leaders. It all ended in futility.” As one of the key parties to the Aburi Accord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, returns to mother earth today, it is also apposite to return to Aburi, and look at the letter and the spirit of the accord once again, an agreement that was violated by the Federal side, and which made a bloody internecine war inevitable. For most part of 1966, the northern part of Nigeria, particularly, had been turned to killing fields. Non-natives, especially Igbos, were killed in thousands. Many fled, many others were displaced. There was complete anarchy in the land. The average Igbo looked up to Lt. Col Odumegwu Ojukwu, military governor of the Eastern Region, to provide leadership and direction. He did not fail. He picked the gauntlet and championed the cause of his people. By January 1967, the drums of war were loud and clear, reverberating across the length and breadth of Nigeria. But there was a last ditch effort to prevent what was imminent. There was a peace meeting hosted at Aburi, in Ghana, by the then Ghanaian head of state, Gen J. A. Ankrah. At the meeting were Gowon, Ojukwu, all the military governors of the regions, and some top civil servants, both from the Federal side and the Eastern region. The meeting held on January 4 and 5, 1967, and came out with what is popularly known today as the Aburi Accord. The agenda of the meeting consisted of three crucial issues: (i) Reorganization of the Armed Forces (ii) Constitutional agreement (iii) Issues of displaced persons within Nigeria.

The two-day meeting reached consensus that were acceptable to both sides. Among others, it was resolved that legislative and executive authority of the Federal Military Government was to remain in the Supreme Military Council (SMC), to which any decision affecting the whole country shall be referred for determination provided it is possible for a meeting to be held, and the matter requiring determination must be referred to military governors for their comment and concurrence. What does this mean in simple language? The SMC would run the affairs of the country, but not without consulting the regions as represented by the military governors. This was something akin to federalism, even under a military government. Other terms of the agreement include that appointments to senior ranks in the police, diplomatic and consular services as well as appointment to superscale posts in the federal civil service and the equivalent posts in the statutory corporations must be approved by the SMC. What does this mean again in simple language? Equity, fairness, true federalism. Other matters like the holding of an ad hoc constitutional conference, fate of soldiers involved in the January 15, 1966 coup, rehabilitation of displaced persons, etc, were also amicably resolved, and the conferees returned happily to Nigeria. Only for the Federal side to deliver a blow to the solar plexus: the Aburi Accord, Gowon said, was unworkable, and he reneged on all the agreements. Using the Eastern Nigerian Broadcasting Service, Ojukwu played the tape recording of the proceedings at Aburi repeatedly, to educate the populace on who was playing Judas. Later, he made a broadcast in which he said: “we in the East are anxious to see that our differences are resolved by peaceful means and that Nigeria is preserved as a unit, but it is doubtful, and the world must judge whether Lt. Col Gowon’s attitudes and other exhibitions of his insincerity are something which can lead to a return of normalcy and confidence in the country. “I must warn all Easterners once again to remain vigilant. The East will never be intimidated, nor will she acquiesce to any form of dictation. It is not our intention to play the aggressor. Nonetheless, it is not our intention to be slaughtered in our beds. We are ready to defend our homeland.” In a piece I did last December, shortly after Ojukwu passed away, I said he was virtually pushed into war by the infidelity of the Federal side to the Aburi Accord. I still stand by that position. Ojukwu was called ‘warlord’ for many decades, but he was by no means a warmonger. He only did what he needed to do for his people–and for the country. As his earthly remains are interred today, it is tragic that Nigeria is still submerged in the morass that Ojukwu already identified about 45 years ago. Today, bombs go off like firecrackers in the country. There is agitation for the review of the revenue allocation formula. There are strident calls for the convocation of a sovereign national conference. Even some component parts are threatening to pull out of the federation if anything happened to their ‘son’ who is now in power. Didn’t Ojukwu warn of these landmines ahead? Were all these issues not already settled at Aburi? Foremost journalist and media administrator, Akogun Tola Adeniyi, in a recent media interview, explained the Aburi Accord this way: “Let every region be semi-autonomous and develop at its own level.” Yes, that was the spirit and letter of Aburi, but which sadly became a road not taken. And is that not why we are still suffering today, living in a rickety and decrepit country that can burst at the seams any moment? I tell you, Ojukwu was a prophet, and like most prophets, he had no honour in his own country. Pity. But whether we like it or not, there’s no way we won’t return to Aburi. Willy-nilly. I only hope it will be sooner than later, before Nigeria goes to grief. On Aburi I stand. Federal Government was perfidious and duplicitous on Aburi. It is still the same way today. That is why as Nigerians, we are most times disillusioned, dismayed, dispirited, dejected and depressed. When will change come to this land? Our hearts are getting weary. Last December, I wrote that Ojukwu should be buried like a hero. I’m glad at the rites of passage so far, culminating in the interment today. Yes, bury him like a true hero. An icon, an avatar, deserves no less. This generation will surely not see another like Ojukwu. He fought not only for his own people, but for a true federation founded on justice, fair play, equity and rectitude. Unfortunately, he did not see the Nigeria of his dreams. Will we? Adieu the Ikemba, the Eze Igbo Gburugburu. May your soul rest in peace. Ka nkpur’obi gi zue ike n’adukwa.

Business / Lagosians Have 8 Days To Pay Their Taxes Or Face Prosecution by troylaurenz: 7:48am On Dec 08, 2016
The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service has asked all taxpayers that have yet to fulfil their obligation have between December 1 and 16, 2016, to remit overdue taxes and levies to avoid prosecution.

The Executive Chairman of LIRS, Mr. Ayodele Subair, yesterday stated that the agency had, in the last few months, embarked on massive advocacy and enlightenment programmes, educating Lagos taxpayers on the laws bordering on tax administration and the benefits of paying taxes as and when due.

He said, “In spite of the significant decline in the allocation from the federation account, the Lagos State Government is still embarking on massive infrastructural development and renewal. These projects cannot be achieved if taxpayers refuse to discharge their civic responsibility to the state.

“Taxpayers are hereby advised to clear all outstanding payments on or before December 16, 2016, failing which the state government will commence criminal prosecution of offenders in line with relevant provisions of the Personal Income Tax Act, 2004 (As amended).”

The LIRS boss explained that the taxes and levies expected to be remitted to the government within the grace period comprised the Tax Audit Liability of back years, the Personal Income Tax (PAYE, Direct Assessment, Self-Assessment), Withholding Tax, Hotel Occupancy and Restaurants Consumption Tax and Land Use Charge and Ground Rent.

“LIRS has put all the necessary machineries in place to ensure the enforcement of the tax law with effect from December 17, 2016, when the grace period lapses. We advise all taxpayers to comply because the full weight of the law will be brought to bear on taxable persons or corporations that fail to remit their taxes and levies,” Subair added.

These are photos of a "feet traffic jam is currently happening at ketu market as pedestrians are desperately trying to use the flyover bridge because of the barricade that had been placed to prevent them from crossing the busy Ikorodu road.

The Lagos state government has placed the barricade in order to save lives and reduce the tendency of hit and run drivers on busy roads.

However the bridge is the only source of crossing for pedestrians coming from as far as mile 12 to the Ojota road before Ogudu, see more photos below

Remember Adokiye Kyrian, the sexy Nigerian singer who wanted to sacrifice her virginity to Boko Haram for the sake of the release of the captured Chibok Girls>?

Well she has always stood by her remarks that she is infact a Virgin (untouched)
The singer often talks about how she was able to keep her virginity till adulthood and is determined on remaining a virgin until marriage, but at the moment Adokiye Kyrian might be rethinking her decision to remain a virgin..

It seems like she would reconsider that if OBO Davido came knocking with his services because in a recent interview with New Telegraph, the Jombolo crooner says she's ready to auction it due to the current situation of the country.

When asked if she would consider auctioning her virginity, she said
"My brother, I no fit lie to you oh, if this economy situation continues, well, I would be left with no choice but to do so."

On a Nigerian male celebrity she's crushing on and would allow to deflower her,
"I love Davido; I think he has a good heart and I’m guessing a lot of people don’t know that he’s very nice and soft hearted."

When asked why she decided to offer her virginity to Boko Haram in exchange for the Chibok girls, "I was filled with sympathy and was ready to do anything to help get those little kids out of that devilish state they were in."

Politics / Why President Buhari Wants 30b Dollars Loan by troylaurenz: 4:54pm On Nov 01, 2016
Dr. Abraham Nwankwo, the director-general of Nigeria's Debt Management Office (DMO) has given reasons why President Muhammadu Buhari wanted to borrow $29.96 billion as part of the 2016 – 2018 External Borrowing Plan.

The DG said the loan would help the government address the infrastructure deficit bedevilling the cuountry. Its low concessionary interest rate, which is fixed at 1.5 per cent, the 20-30 years repayment plan and its expected multiplier effects make the loan desirable and attractive.

"When you are in this kind of economic situation, you have to decide where you want to start addressing the problem," Nwankwo said on Tuesday. "You then come to the conclusion that the most critical point to start is to deal with infrastructure problem.

"If you deal with infrastructure problem, the cost of power will be lower, the cost of transportation will be lower, and the cost of most other services will be lower.”
But the Nigerian Senate has turned down the request to authorise the president to borrow the fund. The request which was introduced for consideration by the Leader of the Senate Ali Ndume and seconded by Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha, was rejected by a majority of the senators present.

When the question was put to commence the consideration of the request senators answered in the negative, rejecting the proposal.

But said the loan facility will help revive infrastructure like railways which will smoothen movement of heavy goods across the country.

He believed tackling infrastructure deficit would force down costs of goods and services on the long run, explaining that the development will have a significant impact on the price level in the economy.

“That impacts the economy by bringing down the general price level, (they call it the consumer price index, which is a classical measure of the price level and the rate of inflation.) When you do this, the Central Bank of Nigeria will set the monetary policy rate low, because all over the world, the central bank knows it has to put the monetary policy rate high enough to catch up with inflation rate, otherwise we will be talking of negative real rate of interest which destroys the economy.

Dr. Nwankwo also added ;
"So the way to go about it is that you have adequate infrastructure, power road, transportation ICT. All these make the cost of production in the economy much lower and when this happens, the cost of goods and services will be lower and then inflation will start coming down. And if inflation comes down, the monetary policy rate will be lower and this will translate to a lower lending rate. That is the sequence,”

Family / Blame Miss Anambra!!-group Want Youths Barred From Beauty Paegents And Gambling by troylaurenz: 11:21am On Oct 31, 2016
A non-governmental organisation, Centre for Leadership and Youth Orientation, has called for the abolition of youth gambling and beauty pageants.

The group said that gambling and beauty pageants were discouraging youths from skill acquisition and self-reliance.

Citing the recent alleged Anambra sex scandal involving the 2015 Miss Anambra, Chidinma Okeke, the CENSTLEYO initiator said most girls were exploited in such competitions.

The initiator of CENSTLEYO, Mr. Felix Imah, stated this on Saturday in Nnewi, Anambra State, during a one-day training programme for journalists.

Delivering a paper entitled ‘CENSTLEYO and the media in the transformation of our society’, Imah argued that such organised get-rich-quick ventures had destroyed most youths.

He said, “They no longer find acquisition of leadership skills and other moral values important or even necessary.”

Politics / Mark Zuckerberg Is Helping Buhari To Continue The Mass Murder Of Biafrans -IPOB by troylaurenz: 2:46pm On Oct 30, 2016
.News

Mr. Emma Powerful,the spokesman for the Indeginous People Of Biafra (IPOB), in a statement released yesterday October 30th said ;

“Mark Zuckerberg, a Jew, who should know about the horrors of fascism and genocide, is helping an Islamist Buhari to continue the mass murder of innocent Biafrans”.

“Radio Biafra London before its shut down by Zuckerberg who visited Buhari recently, was the biggest and most vibrant discussion forum on facebook with nearly 1 million members.

“Why a man whose family benefited from the freedoms and opportunities the land of the free USA had to offer can turn around to brutally suppress freedom of speech and expression is beyond human understanding.
“Facebook has made itself the wiling tool of repressive regimes and psychopathic murderers in power such as Major-General Muhammadu Buhari the Nigerian ruler.

“Mark Zuckerberg must know that the day he cut the deal with Buhari at Aso Rock his Facebook satellite was destroyed at the launch pad.

“That was a sign from the Most High that he should stay out of this battle between good and evil. Now that you have sided with the Devil, Mr. Zuckerberg, you will see the judgement of God upon you.

“The God we serve will set an example with you that mankind may know that HE is the God of Biafrans. If you do not turn back from your evil ways.

“Look at Nigeria today and know that God’s anger is upon her and her leaders because they dared to arrest Nnamdi Kanu. Satlink Israel lost their satellite because Buhari persuaded them to remove Radio Biafra satellite radio broadcast from their services.

“Nobody comes against IPOB and survives it. We urge you to retrace your steps and reinstall Radio Biafra London Facebook group”, he said.

Politics / President Buhari Is Godsent by troylaurenz: 6:51am On Oct 29, 2016
National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr John Oyegun, has said that God sent President Muhammadu Buhari to save Nigeria from collapse.

Oyegun said this in Sokoto on Friday when he declared open a three-day retreat organised by the Kano State Chapter of the party for its officials and stakeholders on political party management.

”Buhari was God-sent at the most crucial time in Nigeria’s history.
”He inherited a comatose economy and he has been strenuously working to deliver on his campaign promises centred on the economy, security and fighting corruption, Oyegun said.

”Insurgency has been tamed, while the issues of militancy and other related security challenges were being diligently attended to by the President.” Oyegun also said that the president was being so ” frugal” with every kobo that accrued to the nation, saying that the economy would soon bounce back. The party national chairman said that no sane and patriotic Nigerian would be pessimistic about the way Buhari was uniquely tackling corruption.
