Where you wan get clearing for 600k. .Minimum clearing cost is now N1.2m even though na Micra. You forgot to add towing about $500 depending on location. People don't understand the challenge of car importation. When people hear 3m, 4m they think its big money. Change it to $ and see the uselessness of the Naira

This is likely what you'll get for shipping for any car. I wouldn't have put this up but for the purpose of your education. Shipping currently isn't $1200 but $1320 and this is uniform for all cars. The $1,200 is pre- buhari era. Then you can see other charges. You can't get a good Corolla for $1500 except for a badly accidented one. And assuming you get you will pay Copart charges which will add upto about $1900. How about minor repairs and maintenance when the car arrives. If the car stays at the port for sometime you'll have to pay some charges which will usually be the case cos of port congestion that the $112. How about towing to the port? That's the $475 there and this is because the car was bought close to the coastal area. For some others it could be more than that depending on the location where the car was bought. So do the calculation with the N750 exchange rate. So you'll know how far.

You guys commenting on the price obviously haven't imported a simple toothpick before. The minimum for the clearing of this car is N1.2m. Shipping in $ plus other logistics can't be less than $2000 that's 1.5m. That's 2.7m. So how much will the car cost? and what could be the excessive profit been made by the dealer? You guys think 3.7m is big until you change it to $ which is the currency for buying and shipping of cars. The exchange rate is between.740- 750 now. Quit blaming dealers rather blame your government

Even with a sure plug there, you'll still buy $1/N750 and pay towing and shipping in $. Will his contact abroad sell dollar at a cheaper rate. Those people there no dey joke with their money o. They'll sell their $ to you at black market rate. The only thing that can crash the prices of cars for now is when the exchange rate improves if not forget, prices of cars will keep souring mot to talk of customs duty. Minimum you can pay now is N1.2m for any vehicle, that's if you're lucky

The car dealers we have in Nigeria are simply not helping matters, they have inflated a Nigeria used car by 100percent. It’s so unfair.

But then you can hunt for distress sale and get a good deal for that money, a Corolla 2006, Camry 2007, Honda accord 2010 , Lexus 2004, Mazda cdx.

Bros are you serious? Ship a car from abroad with N2.1m Hmmmm. I laugh Shipping and towing alone should be about $2k that's about 1.5m . Clearing in Nigetia is minimum N1m. So how about the cost of the car? You guys think dealers make a lot of money on cars. Some don't make even 100k trust me. I don't want to talk too much sha.
But let me break it down small. With $1= N750 Assuming you buy a 2006 Corolla at auction for $1.8k that's N1.350m shipping&towing for $1.8k that's another 1.350m
Then clearing for N1.2minimum. That's about N3.9m for a 06/07 Corolla. This is aside minor repairs and profit. Pls cut these dealers a slack if u don't know how these things work. The truth is our currency is valueless simple. Leave dealers and blame your government
