No jokes here. This is a dangerous game that the ruling APC government plans to win as early as mid 2026 by crushing the opposition parties chances completely. uzohrome: |
With the emergence of Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan a native of Ijumu Local Government Area a yoruba LGA in Kogi State as the new INEC chairman, I can confidently say that Tinubu has official renamed INEC to TNEC (Tinubu's National Electoral Commission). The ground work for 2027 has been set in motion. The "master strategist" can now lean back and go to sleep as everything has now been put in place. If you are a fan of a football club let's say Arsenal FC and your club is playing against Liverpool FC, will you expect Liverpool FC to choose the referee of the match? Won't you protest if the match organizers decide to grant Liverpool FC the privilege to choose referee for the match? Won't you call that injustice? How will such a referee be impartial and allow Liverpool FC to lose the match? It is only in Nigeria that I've seen such an anomaly continue to occur without any strong push back from the people. It is so bad that at this point, it is laughable to still read comments been made by some Nigerians on the pages of news websites still reassuring themselves that the new TNEC chairman will grant them a free and fair election to vote out Tinubu who appointed him. Since Nigerians have decided to fold their arms and do nothing to pressurize the national assembly to enact strong electoral reforms that would've guaranteed a free and fair election through the appointment of an independent INEC chairman, Nigerians hoping to remove Tinubu in 2027 should start preparing their minds on how to accept the painful reality of having him as president till 2031 because if majority of Nigerians who complain daily about Tinubu are comfortable in their nonchalant approach towards demanding for electoral reforms, then it is safe to conclude that a continuation of this government policies of more borrowing, high cost of living, more taxes, more lies, insecurity and propaganda beyond 2027 is not as bad as it is made to look by some Nigerians online. Today, INEC is now officially TNEC.... |
Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan is a native of Ijumu Local Government Area a yoruba LGA in Kogi State. If you are still doubting Tinubu's agenda, check the link below for more details regarding Ijumu https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Ijumu Another 4 years guaranteed for APC government. Slytiger: |
How can he do what right when he is been appointed by a 2027 presidential aspirant. Nigerians decided to fold their arms and do nothing to pressurize the national assembly to enact electoral reforms that would've guaranteed the appointment of an independent INEC chairman so I wonder why it will be a surprise to anyone if Tinubu wins in 2027. Anyone telling who tells you that Amupitan will give you a fair election is either deceiving you or living in self-denial Cutezt: |
Hmmm so 2027 rigging program has official been activated. Amupitan is a yoruba man from Kogi state appointed by Tinubu the president another yoruba man, participating in the next presidential election.... exposed of submitting fraudulent documents in the last electon? |
Wike has the support and approval of Tinubu his boss to do what he is doing that is why he has no shame fighting Sowore. saintkel: |
I would've been surprised if you said something different. It is no news to any user of this platform that you always support injustice and bad governance. helinues: |
If Uche Nnaji can resign so can Tinubu. Why are Nigerians not demanding for Tinubu's resignation? |
Kanu's continued unjust incarceration is indeed a big shame to Nigeria and it's justice system. Whatever will be the outcome of his trial, the precedence has already been set and the damage done to Nigeria in the international community over his case will take decades to erase. I agree with the laywer that if it was a man from another tribe, his rights won't have been violated the way Nigerian government is violating Nnamdi Kanu's rights by not obeying court orders. Kanu won't get justice except the igbo people and other Nigerians come together to push for his release. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykSE_Fe4SlA The reason why Nnamdi Kanu is still in detention today is simply because he is an igbo man - Lawyer Maxwell Opara |
I agree that this may just be an attempt to divert Nigerians attention from his numerous scandals. Sowore remains the only consistent opposition force that is not afraid to face Nigerian political looters head on. He has unearthed lots of corruptions Wike and his family had done through his media outfit including Wike and his wife stealing public money to buy houses in USA. Sowore had asked the USA to probe Wike. So, this probe is how Wike is fighting back. But it won't work because Sowore does not hold any public office. Orlandoo: |
…Tax Filings, Visa Suspension, Others A group of lawyers based in Abuja have petitioned the Attorney General of the State of New York, United States of America, seeking investigations into the financial activities of Sahara Media Group Incorporated and its owner, Mr Omoyele Sowore. The lawyers, in a petition on their behalf by Heartland Advisors & Solicitors, dated October 7, 2025, and submitted at the United States Embassy in Abuja yesterday, also demanded a “suspension, and or invalidation of Sowore’s U.S travel documents.” Demands in the petition signed by Barrister Sunday Oluwole and Barrister Felix Olanrewaju Wolemiwa, also include; “Examination of Sahara Media Group Inc.’s financial records, including the MacArthur Foundation grant, for compliance with New York nonprofit laws (e.g., N-PCL § 112), investigate whether funds raised by Sahara Media Group Inc. are used for their intended charitable purposes or diverted to personal or political activities and review Mr. Sowore’s individual and corporate tax filings for compliance with U.S. tax laws, particularly regarding income supporting his U.S. property and lifestyle.” The petition titled; “Request for Investigation into Financial Activities of Sahara Media Group Inc. and Mr. Omoyele Sowore,” read; “We are writing to respectfully request your office’s review of the financial activities of Sahara Media Group Inc., a New York-registered entity, and its founder, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, a Nigerian citizen residing in the United States. This request stems from concerns about potential discrepancies in nonprofit financial reporting, tax compliance, and asset declarations, which may impact both U.S. and Nigerian public interests. “Mr. Sowore, a prominent activist and former Nigerian presidential candidate (2019, 2023), operates Sahara Media Group Inc., which runs Sahara Reporters. Public records raise questions about the organization’s financial transparency and Mr. Sowore’s personal financial disclosures, particularly given his political activities abroad.” They listed their key concerns to include; nonprofit Funding and Transparency, noting that Sahara Media Group Inc. received a $1.3 million grant from the MacArthur Foundation (2016–2019) for journalist training in Nigeria, and alleging that limited public reporting on the utilization of these funds raises concerns about compliance with New York nonprofit laws requiring transparency and proper use of charitable funds. “On asset declaration discrepancies, the lawyers alleged that “In 2023, Mr. Sowore reportedly declared to Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ownership of a single Nigerian property valued at ₦5 million and a 2008 Toyota Camry. However, public records indicate he purchased a U.S. property around 2018, valued at approximately $552,000, which may not have been disclosed in his INEC filing. This raises questions about potential concealment of assets or perjury under Nigerian law, with possible U.S. tax implications if unreported.” Raising questions about Sowore’s financial capacity and lifestyle, the lawyers said, “Reports suggest Mr Sowore’s son attends Dwight-Englewood School in New Jersey, with annual tuition of approximately $59,235 (2024–2025). This, alongside his political campaign expenditures in Nigeria, appears inconsistent with the reported financial capacity of Sahara Media Group Inc., which operates primarily as a media outlet. A review of his income sources and tax compliance could clarify whether these are supported by legitimate, reported earnings.” They also said that “In 2018, GoFundMe temporarily suspended a $2 million fundraiser for Mr. Sowore’s ‘Take Back Nigeria Movement’ due to concerns about its purpose. Though later restored, this incident warrants scrutiny to ensure funds raised in New York comply with charitable solicitation laws.” “Given your office’s authority to oversee nonprofit organizations registered in New York, I respectfully request that you examine Sahara Media Group Inc.’s financial records, including the MacArthur Foundation grant, for compliance with New York nonprofit laws (e.g., N-PCL § 112), investigate whether funds raised by Sahara Media Group Inc. are used for their intended charitable purposes or diverted to personal or political activities, review Mr. Sowore’s individual and corporate tax filings for compliance with U.S. tax laws, particularly regarding income supporting his U.S. property and lifestyle and suspend, and or invalidate his U.S travel documents. “This request is made in good faith to promote accountability and transparency, protecting the integrity of nonprofit operations in New York and public trust in cross-border political activities.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/10/abuja-lawyers-petition-us-attorney-general-against-sowore-seek-probe-of-financial-activities/ |
What is my motivation? What are you seeing through me? If you are a fan of a football club let's say Arsenal FC and your club is playing against Liverpool FC, will you not protest if the match organizers decide to grant Liverpool FC the privilege to choose referee for the match? Won't you call that injustice? Tinubu remains a bad president not because of what I post here but simply because of what Nigeria has become under his leadership. Your problem is that you can not seem to think beyond tribalism, you are too sentimental to accept your reality that what is wrong is wrong? Even though it has been common practice since 1999 as the president by law is obligated to choose the INEC chairman, is it fair to allow a president participating in an election to continue to do so? The 2023 presidential election that brought Tinubu to power was widely considered as one of the worst election in Nigeria by both local and international observers, nothing stops the same APC government now under Tinubu's leadership from repeating same sham election in 2027. If you are been paid to do what you do on Nairaland defending what is clearly wrong then you are part of Nigeria's problem. WizardOfNG: |
You are wrong, Ijumu and Ojo words are Yoruba terms. Check the links below. https://www.yorubaname.com/entries/O%CC%80jo%CD%81 https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Ijumu LegendHero: |
After reading your long epistles in your deliberate attempt to divert this thread by making it about Igbo vs Yoruba hatred, I can safely conclude that I was wrong to have thought you were not a tribal manipulator. Above all you've said, the reality of what Nigeria has become under Tinubu can not be wished away because the widespread insecurity and other terrible consequences of his bad government will continue, it will consume all Nigerians irrespective of tribe as no one will be spared if nothing is done to hold the government accountable to stop it or vote him out in a fair election by 2027. People like you who browse this platform in a mission to defend him by sowing seeds of tribal division of Igbo vs Yoruba will not escape it. WizardOfNG: |
I did not say in Igbo name (south east) I said a northerner’s name. In the case of Zamfara governor, it may be that his mother is Yoruba that is why “Dare” was added after his proper name “Dauda”. kunle4toyeyaho: |
You keep talking about sacrifice, what sacrifice have Tinubu and members of his government made over reducing the government costs, their wasteful spendings or purging themselves of corruption. Since 2023 till now can you point to any meaningful developmental programs initiated by Tinubu that Nigerians are proud of? What about the mass killings that have continued and increased with no end in sight. What about the the increasing high cost of goods and services? What about the monumental looting/corruption being done by the military heads and other members of Tinubu's government? There is no way you can say what you are saying here defending this government or Tinubu making sacrifices without sounding like a clown because what you're saying is simply not true. WizardOfNG: |
Because Buhari did it, does that make it right? If it is wrong should Nigerians fold their arms and let it continue? There is no way 2027 election will be a fair if INEC is under the influence of Tinubu's APC presidency. Pauladex: |
It is common sense as you don't need to think to see that 2027 is a done deal. Tinubu will win the next election over this obvious unfair advantage he enjoys. Sadly, many Nigerians are yet to discipher what you're trying to say here. CandyOps: |
Well, you're wrong as I did not make this post to satisfy any tribal subpremacy fantacies you are insinuating. Many Nigerians agree that the current government is the worst government since Nigeria's independence. If it is true that Tinubu is presiding over the worst governement in Nigeria's history why should he get a second term? I do believe you're not one of those tribal champions on this platform who can't reason objectively. How many more needs to perish over his government's bad policies? Are you happy with the current state of Nigeria? WizardOfNG: |
Are you for real? It is clear you are just been biased and not honest as it is obvious you're a Tinubu supporter. Let Nigerians and other users of this forum be the judge, I rest my case. LegendHero: |
I asked you the question first, why throw it back at me. Have you heard of any natural non Yoruba nothern local government area with such name? LegendHero: |
Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan is a native of Ijumu Local Government Area in Kogi State. Does "Ijumu" sound like a northern word or a Yoruba word? LegendHero: |
Point of correctiom, I did not say Kwara State but Kogi State and there are Yorubas in Kogi state. I hold no pride or happiness in admitting the obvious as it is only pity I feel for Nigerians. Nigeria's economy may not survive another 4 years of this bad government. A Tinubu's win in 2027 will only mean more borrowing, more taxes, more lies, more deaths and propaganda. Nigerians simply can not afford to allow this government to continue. LegendHero: |
Okay but you know there are minority yoruba tribes in Kogi state. As long as he is being picked by Tinubu as the next INEC chairman, he is not independent. Tinubu thrives in dirty politics and won't hesitate to milk the powers of the president over INEC to his advantage. In my opinion, 2027 presidential election is a done deal. Nigerians are only wasting their time if they think Tinubu will hand them a free and fair election without demanding and fighting for it. Tinubu has already won the election by virtue of appointing the next INEC chairman. LegendHero: |
There is no "Ojo" or "Amupitan" in any natural core northerners name. If am not mistaken, these words are Yoruba terms. LegendHero: |
Many readers may argue that Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan being from Kogi state north central is okay but the burden over conflict of interest with him being a Yoruba man appointed by the president (Tinubu) who is participating in the next election can't be disputed. It is left for Nigerians to decide if they want Tinubu to continue beyond 2027 by simply doing nothing to stop his plans. |
Sahara Reporters broke the news today that Tinubu has formally fined tuned his plans for the 2027 presidential election by picking Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, a Kogi "Yoruba" professor as the next INEC chairman to succeed inglorious Yakubu Mahmood. The fact that Tinubu is allowed by law to appoint the next INEC chairman without any push back from Nigerians shows that Nigerians are okay and happy with the monumental rigging of elections by politicians. There is no doubt that the sinister plans on how this evil APC government will return to power have been activated and set in motion by Tinubu, Wike, Akpabio. Ganduje and other APC heavyweights. Just as one Nairaland user called Onuman said and I quote "A person contesting election to appoint election umpire is like a football team in a national league appointing a referee for the competition. Are there no more reasonable people in Nigeria to stop the MADNESS in having the president to appoint INEC Chairman?". No one should be deceived that what happened in 2023 presidential election will magically not reoccure in 2027 presidential election as Tinubu's path to victory will only be made easier now that he is the president and owns the INEC by virtue of appointing it's chairman. If Nigerians were serious about good governance, about their future and that of the nation, they should've stormed national assembly, protested endlessly, forcing the compromised 10th Assembly to enact new laws that will stop the president from appointing INEC chairman. The nonchalant attitude and petty tribal sentiments of Nigerians over serious political issues will cost them another 4 years if nothing is done to push for electoral laws reforms that will guarantee a free and fair election in 2027. |
Funny, so you think Tinubu can be voted out? Or you are just saying that as a way to sound politically expedient. I do no believe Tinubu can be removed through any election as long as he appoints the INEC chairman. Only electoral reform or a revolution can stop Tinubu from remaining in power in 2027. helinues: |
Yes his policies and bad leadership is killing Nigerians, you always like to defend this bad government as i guess you're been paid to do so but if you live in Nigeria, it is only a matter of time as you will not escape the effects of this bad government that you continually support here. helinues: |
The only way I can make sense of your posts is to conclude that you don't live in Nigeria because if you do live in Nigeria then you've no conscience and will go down with this terrible government when the time comes. You will not escape the tragic fate that awaits the evil politicians you serve and defend on this platfotm unless you change your ways. helinues: |
