PoliticsRe: Obama Wins South Carolina - What Does This Tell Us About Obama's Strenght by Truthman(m): 3:22pm On Jan 28, 2008
@Richyblack,
thanks for the correction. I know that the Senate Majority Leader has secret service agents protecting him.

@Mckren,
While Michigan and Florida may not have delegates, a win for HRC by a big margin will serve as momentum going into super tuesday. This isn't about scraching backs, it is about being honest with your friends from the onset and not hiding under the pretence of being neutral.
PoliticsRe: Obama Wins South Carolina - What Does This Tell Us About Obama's Strenght by Truthman(m): 10:26am On Jan 28, 2008
@Mckren,
All US senators have secret service agents attached to them. By the way a big Congrats to Barack Obama for his big win in SC. I quite sure that it will be HRC's turn 2moro in Florida by a big margin too.

As for Ted Kennedy and John Kerry's endorsement,let see how it will play out. Obama will probably win six states on Super Tuesday (Arizona, Colorado,Georgia Illinois are sure bets). I believe Kennedy's endorsement came out too late thanks to the persuading powers of the Clintons.

Looking to the future, the Democratic party will never be the same again and would be divided going forward to the general elections no matter who wins the nomination. If I were the Clintons I would probably be thinking that with friends like this (Ted Kennedy and John Kerry) one wouldn't need an enemy. Imagine, Bill Clinton left his hospital bed to after surgery to campaign for Kerry in 2004 only for Kerry to say he didn't do enough.
PoliticsRe: Exposing Bill And Hillary Clinton's Criminal Activity by Truthman(m): 2:54pm On Jan 23, 2008
@Horus
One other thing on the 1994 mid term elections you are talking about, The republicans won simply because there were a lot of bickering btw the democartic primary and democratic congress and so that session of congress was painted as a do nothing congress by the republicans. You can learn more on this on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_House_of_Representatives_elections%2C_1994
PoliticsRe: Exposing Bill And Hillary Clinton's Criminal Activity by Truthman(m): 2:47pm On Jan 23, 2008
@Horus

This stuff is old news. i wonder why it is being brought up again. It was something the right wing republicans unsuccessful used in the '90s. I can even mention a lot of other stuff that the Clintons have been accused of:

Death of Vince Forster (It was alleged that He was having an affair with Hilliary)
Travelgate
Whitewater.
Campaign contributions etc.

Let us all move away from politics of personal destruction rather let talk about issues. Let every candidates defend his position on issues when challenged after all that is what democracy is all about.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by Truthman(m): 10:39am On Jan 23, 2008

I watched the debate and Obama actually made that remark. You can check on CNN for the transcript of the debate.
PoliticsRe: Hillary Clinton Desperate by Truthman(m): 6:16pm On Jan 22, 2008
I do not agree. I think she did manage herself well yesterday.
PoliticsRe: Hillary Clinton Desperate by Truthman(m): 6:01pm On Jan 22, 2008
The attacks are not one sided as you claim. The Clintons have a right to draw attention to inconsistencies in Obama's position on issues just as he has pointed out inconsistencies in Hilliary positions as well. That is the hallmark of politics, it shouldn't change because Obama is running for office
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by Truthman(m): 4:30pm On Jan 22, 2008
@Mckren,
This should enlighten you more about the Nevada race.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nevada_Democratic_caucuses%2C_2008.
http://www.nvdems.com/

It further clarifies the difference between a caucus and a primary, a distinction most people don't understand. Thus, Senator Clinton did win 51% of the elected delegate for the Nevada state convention.

Furthermore, I did not say Senator Obama lied, what I simply said is that I hate spin and truly detest people who thrive in it
. Let us wait till the democratic process is completed till April.

@ dafur
Bush wasn't the only one that won via the electoral college, it happened in 1824,1876 and 1888.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by Truthman(m): 1:11pm On Jan 22, 2008
@Horus
Do you have any problem with Bill campaigning for his wife? Oprah, Kerry etal have all be campaigning on obama's behalf. Besides, Obama started all this when he called senator Clinton the senator from Punjab, now when he hit with some legit questions on some decisions he made in the past, he complains.

@ Mckren,
I am really enjoying this discussion. The rules were set before the caucus and to further explain, Senator Clinton won 51% of the state elected delegates to Senator Obama's 46%. A state convection will still be held in Nevada where the issue of national delegates will be sorted out.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by Truthman(m): 5:00am On Jan 22, 2008
@Mckren,
I beg to disagree. The Chair person of the Nevada Democratic primary came out to say delegates had not be allocated.
The projection these people are making is based on past primaries. The rules are different this time around.

I hate spin and I do not like people who trive on spin. the rules are clear, let us wait till april before we can conclude on who won the highest number of delegates.

Meanwhile, did any one watch the debate? I think HRC did very well against a very aggressive Obama on healthcare, economy and national security. Obama did well on Iraq.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by Truthman(m): 10:43pm On Jan 21, 2008
Uchenna,
the democratic primary will be held on saturday. If you are chanced, you can watch the debate btw the 3 candidateson CNN international in the early hours of 2moro.

@horus,
Isimply asked a rhetorical question!!!

@Mckren,
Are you married? Don't you know that 90% of good decisions couples make originates from the bedroom
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by Truthman(m): 10:32pm On Jan 21, 2008
@Mckren
Haven't you heard: two for the price of one!!
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by Truthman(m): 10:30pm On Jan 21, 2008
@Iyke-D

Clinton won the popular votes in Nevada by 6%. As for the delegates, you will have to wait till something on April before they are allocated going by the rules of Nevada democratic party. What is being reported in the papers are projected delegate counts for Nevada and as usual none of the MSM bothered to check the rules governing delegate allocation.

His campaign managers are the one misleading him making a concession takes nothing away from a candidate!!!
PoliticsRe: Obama Would Fair Better As Vice President? by Truthman(m): 9:40pm On Jan 21, 2008
Hiliary will win the nomination and guess what - she would not even consider obama for VP. it would be btw Gen Wesley Clark and Sen Evan Bayh.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by Truthman(m): 9:26pm On Jan 21, 2008
@Horus,
So because obama is black (african-american) he should be president? I have nothing against his person however I believe he lacks maturity required to be president of the US. I was reliable informed that he left Nevada even before the results were announced. It has always been the tradition in US politics for the losing side to make concession speech before the winner. he obviously did not do that and sa far as I am concerned he is a sore loser.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by Truthman(m): 6:00pm On Jan 20, 2008
I knew the Obama campaign would come out with something like this. I must say that I'm not suprised. Hiliary won- that is the simple truth. When she lost in Iowa, she took it in good faith and intensified her effortsin winning the other primaries. I think Obama should do the same as well
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by Truthman(m): 10:36pm On Jan 19, 2008
I hope Obama learns that endorsements doesn't win elections! Clinton even defeated him in 6 outof the 9 at large caucus sites- so much for the Culinary union endorsement.

Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by Truthman(m): 4:56am On Jan 09, 2008
the 1992 elections was primarily dominated by domestic agenda. this is different in light of George Bush disastrous tenure. He (Bush) has raised the standards to which future aspirants will be judged i.e foreign policy experience

She is a high ranking member of the senate foreign committe as well as defence committe. She has good reviews from her colleagues (Rep and Dem) alike.
Above all she happens to one of the key adviser of her husband during his white house days.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by Truthman(m): 4:41am On Jan 09, 2008
Obama reminds me of George Bush in 2000, Rhetorics and No substance. His lack of experience in foreign policy and in domestic policy will be his greatest undoing.
PropertiesRe: Short Stay Accomodation In Amsterdam by Truthman(m): 3:17pm On Jan 07, 2008
There are number of 2-3 star hotels that offer service apartments in the Netherlands. You can get good ones by doing a google search as suggested. the price varies from abt 900euros to about 1200 euros.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama Crushes Clinton and Edwards in Iowa by Truthman(m): 8:03pm On Jan 04, 2008
Congrats to Obama. He really did suprise me with his victory in Iowa. However, the race for nomination (Democratic) is just beginning. His message of hope and change reminds me of the compassionate conservatism of GW Bush in 2000. For Obama to be the democratic nominee, he would need to go beyond the rhetorics of hope and change and show that he has got enough experience to be able to implement his policies. I personally do not think the US and indeed the world can afford to have another inexperienced person in the white house.

PoliticsRe: How Good Are Inverters ? by Truthman(m): 3:43pm On Dec 31, 2007
@babasin
erratic means it is unpredictable. With your situation, I guess you will have to charge the batteries with a generator. Also maybe u need something bigger than 1.4kva. I live in a three bedroom apartment with 3 tvs, 5 fans 2 decoders and up 12 energy saving bulbs. I do not use ACs, heaters,washing machine etc when the inverter is on.
Moreover, the less load you put on the inverter, the longer it lasts  (My wife and I decided to put about 20% load on the inverter and it lasted for like 15hrs before recharging).
You will need about 8 hrs for it to be fully charged.

babasin:
of what use is the inverter if you have NEPA ONLY 2hours in a week.
NEPA is very erratic in my area. I spend 30k buying diesel on a monthly basis and with thr inverter, it has reduced to about 10k a month.

@funloving
I reside in port harcourt, I will ask their agent here in PHC if he has any one in Lagos. It is important that you get the right person. I suggest you invite the whoever will do the job to your house to look at the electrical wiring and then he would be able to advise on how tp do the installation.

Happy New Year

Yes 225k
PoliticsRe: How Good Are Inverters ? by Truthman(m): 10:01am On Dec 31, 2007
Hi all,
The inverter technology is one i recommend to all who can afford it. I installed the 1.4KVA (Sukam inverter) in my house in October and so far it has been performing well. The type is capable of providing 8 hrs of uninterrupted power supply if it is fully charged and goes for about 225k with the energy saving bulbs you will have to buy.
Cheers
