PoliticsI Was Offered N10m Bribe – Returning Officer by trutuk(op): 12:58pm On Apr 11, 2011
The Election Returning Officer for Anambra Central Senatorial district election, Mr. Alex Anene, on Sunday alleged that he was offered N10m, a duplex and scholarships for his children to persuade him to declare a particular candidate winner of the Saturday poll.

Anene told journalists that he abandoned his post and failed to declare the election result because his life was threatened.

Politics2011 Elections – Nigerians Shine Your Eyes by trutuk(op): 2:56pm On Jul 09, 2010
It is very disheartening to live in a country where everyone knows what is right but few people find it worthwhile doing the right things thus leaving the affairs of the country in the hands of mediocres.

The 2011 general elections is getting nearer day by day and so many  groups, politicians inclusively have all swung into actions their normal way and style of trying to reap where they never sowed- This we must not allow
Let us remind ourselves briefly on the events of the 1999 general elections, The southwest people were deceived by the politicians using Awolowo’s name as the joker to gain the people’s support, they actually succeeded in fooling the people to get into power, Lo and behold nothing good came out of their administration .From Lam Adesina in Oyo state to Osoba in Ogun state, am sure the rest is now history.

Also the 1999 elections brought into power the grand beneficiary of the murder of MKO, A man who has been condemned to death by the late dictator –Gen Sanni Abacha  but God gave him a second chance to right the wrongs of his days as a military head of state (a chance IBB would do anything to get now) but a kettle Obasanjo spent eight years calling a pot black-we know of a state where they found it worthy to make a veterinary doctor a commissioner for health and the case of a hair stylist the speaker of the National Assembly.

We can go on and on discussing the underachievement of our so called leaders who have all forgotten that they are at all times Under an oath and covenant not only with the people of Nigeria but God inclusive when reciting the nations anthem and pledge-I PLEDGE TO NIGERIA MY COUNTRY, TO BE FAITHFUL LOYAL AND HONEST.

The united states of America made history by voting  a Blackman  to be their president, this was not a result of any zoning arrangement but a choice the Americans made by entrusting their votes in someone that share their dream of the America they want    and that of their yet unborn generation.

Taking a cue from this, I urge all Nigerians, Nigerians that truly want a change for a better Nigeria to rise up and continue the struggle and fight for a credible election where our votes will count so we can stand tall and let posterity judge us right.

The Save Nigeria Group have started something positive but have we asked ourselves why other groups before the SNG have failed to succeed in having a Nigeria of their dream?, this is because we tend to give up at the very last minute in the course of our struggle to liberate our dear country from the hands of public fund looters who will not relent until they have stolen more than enough to sustain their great grand children.

Enough is Enough : lets compliment this saying with vigorous actions and not relent so  we do not leave the cause to be hijacked by the by this set of people who do not mean anything positive for Nigeria- just like what happened in the 1999 elections where the south west people were deceived with Awo’s name .

With this I will urge the SNG to be very careful as this people will want to associate with the group as a means of deceiving the masses to get onto power and afterwards unleash the terror in them on masses, thereby defeating the objective the SNG.

In 1999, the southwest politicians got into power riding on Awo’s name but failed the people thereby loosing the trust the masses had in them then salt was rubbed onto their injury in the 2003 elections in which the ruling party used all they had to unseat the south west governors leaving Lagos state as the only survivor ( a story Tinubu will always be happy to tell) Awo’s name could not save them this time.

Since then, politicians in the southwest have found it difficult to  wrestle power from the ruling party due to the fact that they themselves are not honest and have lost the trust the people had in them in 1999 and this time they could not deceive the people with Awo’s name any longer because JUNGLE DON MATURE and the ruling party on the other hand did everything in their capacity to hold on to what does not belong to them legitimately- the case of Oyinlola in Osun state and Akala in Oyo state.

In concluding this write up, I will not forget the issue that prompted me to come up with my own contribution (my first contribution to Nigeria’s issue) towards having a Nigeria of our dream.

Nigeria went to the world cup and were disgraced at the tournament  (reasons we are know) Then the president went into action by doing the right thing-dissolved the NFF board set up  a committee and tasked the committee to come up with a blue print on how to move Nigeria football to greater heights.

This is a welcome development but we all know this is what is to be done in every aspect of governance in our dear country- from the senate to the National assembly to states and various local governments in the country. If President JEG is finding this to be a difficult task (SINCE HIS GOVERNMENT COULD GIVE OLUBUNMI ETEH A NATIONAL AWARD) then he has an option of giving Nigerians a credible election so we decide in whose hands we entrust our hope of a better Nigeria.

Nigerians, only vote someone you trust, someone who knows what our problems are and is able to come up with solutions - you may then ask how do we know that person. We will surely know because God never sent any angel to the Americans for them to know Obama has answers to their problems, definitely we will know who truly will lead Nigeria to the Promised Land.

Identifying the true person to trust with your vote should start from the grassroots, Let your ward councilor tell you all he has to offer when elected and this should go all the way to the governorship candidate. Let us stop the idea of having a budget without programs; task politicians to come up with a blue print (which they can defend) on how to solve our problems as a nation. Let them assemble a team of people with noble character (show me your friend …).

Let us stop the idea of money politics so we don’t get to sell out the future of our dear nation. Nigerians with more efforts we will get there, let us start with the 2011 elections.
PoliticsStop Condemning Ibb by trutuk(op): 2:48pm On Jul 09, 2010
Fellow Nigerians let us stop condemning IBB but let us make him see reasons why he will never be the president of our dear country come 2011 and thereafter.

Being a Muslim am sure IBB knows we came into this world with nothing and will definitely leave with nothing not even a 25 million dollar casket, all that will be with us will be our deeds either good or bad only Allah will be there to judge us all.

You have served this country meritoriously( in your own context),but some truths need to be told, you have been accused of various atrocities while in government between 1985 and 1993 when you unwillingly stepped aside But till this hour you have failed to either take responsibility or deny this allegations.

You claim you want to rewrite history and lead Nigeria to the Promised Land because the present day  politicians cannot do it and the only way you can do this is by becoming the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, with this,  you are not man enough to be saddled with the great responsibility of leading our dear nation as you are only interested in the goodies associated with the office of the president- then one wonders what else is remained to be looted by IBB abi global economic crisis hit you ni?

There are   many great world leaders who never held any elective post in their various countries and they are contributing in no small measures towards the upliftment of mankind not only in their countries but the world in general. People like Bill Gates, Mukesh in India and our own Dangote (at least a lot of Nigerians put bread on their tables from Dangote groups)

With all you have either legitimately or otherwise acquired in terms of experience and wealth, you will do well for Nigeria and yourself by coming up with something –A company in your name(MAY BE IT WILL TURN OUT TO BE A BAD MARKET) you know will help alleviate the poverty you induced into the society from your SAP while in office  AND  please forget about being the president of this nation so you  do not have to go through the pain and agony of accounting for the deeds and welfare of 150 million people twice when we are all made to account for our deeds in the presence of Allah.

May God forgive us all but IBB at 70 there are many ways you can assist in the cause of getting Nigeria to greater heights without being the president of this country. Obama is juts is his mid 40’s would you want to go and address him as SIR when you guys meet on international summit, KAI

May be you can start a company in your name , Manage the company as the CEO for four years after which Nigerians will appraise you then we may consider you for 2015. This is because since you left office in 1993, you have not done any meaningful thing for us to know you are capable of handling the affairs of our beloved country. I no fit shout o
