Pls, does anyone in the house knows where I can make/cut a spare key with the follow come bent fob and at what cost. The said spare should be able to open and close the doors and start the SUV. The fob in question should or will be like the attached pls. Tnx

Is it usual on all 2005 Ml350 for the gear Selector not to down shift from D,4,3,2,1? Mine will down shift from D to 1 but will up shift from 1,2,3,4 and D. Pls what can cause this?

cne010: I think your fuel pump might be giving up check the filter also.

Ok. Tnx. I will change the fuel pump as I already have one I bought for my 2002 ML500 previously(hope it's the same). Can that be the cause. I also notice that those lights in the dash that shows in the morning, don't come up when the SUV is driven and engine hot. But once it's cold, the longer than usual engine kick start will occur.

Will change the pump and it's filter and keep you informed

Eyop: Do you have an Error message on your Instrument cluster? For Octane Boosters: There's Dyno-Tab that claims it can boost up to 70 octane points which am really not sure but a trial will see to this. There's another one by name Nulon pso an Australian product but also sold here in Nigeria that also claims to boost up to 70 points. So it all depends on which one you decide to get but you can as well read more on it. Below are the contact information for both:

Eyop: Hello TSAT,

Spark plugs could cause misfiring but you later mentioned that you experience this when you switch of the engine and you see the whole lights on the dash flash before engine cuts off. When driving do you notice anything? Injector cleaner is different from the booster. I believe there should be a place in Delta where you can buy the booster but my concern is at what level will it boost the RON number.

So many Octane boosters in the market but very few works as claimed.

I actually notice that asides from the above stated,when the engine is COLD;mostly in the mornings,it take a longer than usual kick to start. You hear the kick start Turning a long than usual time before the engine starts.but when hot,it start normally.

Also while driving,initially,the suv moves like its carrying a heavy load,but after a certain speed and stray trust,you feel the SUV move freely.

Pls what are the causes of the above and where or how can I get the booster to buy;even in Lagos??

Eyop: Please do as soon as possible and am optimistic that your Check engine light will go off once you start using it. If you have the time,i would have advice that you contact Siena(he's a member here) to import some which will not take long to arrive. A lot of members have been getting them via his assistance and am sure he'll gladly assist you out. What am after is the required points i.e boosting the RON to atleast 3 or more points and very few boosters will do this.

Could our fuel also be responsible for misfiring;he calls it "post spatum". The 2005 ml350 special edition does a misfiring when I have switched of the engine and then you see the whole lights on the dash flash before the engine cuts off. finally I have used Mobil injector cleaner on two occasion I have had cause to fill up within one month.
If the injector cleaner isn't what you refer to as booster,pls where can I get to buy as I reside in Delta.

sooperrescue: Yes, everyday movement. Even driving short distances with the RRs is not advisable. I am always having issues when I am leaving Lagos with the RRS. It is only when I get to Sagamu that the nozzles will open. A V8 is meant for daily usage. It is like those who will buy a mercedes and keep it at home for Sunday use only for them to travel to Europe and the cab that they will enter is the same Mercedes that they over cherish back home.


That is what I told TSAT. Cant keep a supercharger at home. It makes guys like us very happy, smiling to the bank(s).

Na wa oooo. The whole rules just tire me. Not even SHORT distances. Haaaaa. Can't eat my cake and have it abi.

You are RIGHT as regards that ECU I removed from under the passenger seat. It's actually the Tele Aid voice recorder module.

As regards the transmission fluid,I had mine changed last Thursday when someone tampered with the cover of the transmission at the engine bay. Had other motorist drawing my attention to smoke from the back of the SUV.on checking,found out that the fluid was spilling on the exhaust thus the smoke and I had to change the whole thing (including the filter)rather than topping up.
The mechanic used the 7 bottles of the Mobil ATF I attached I my last post.
As it stands now,do I flush that out and replace with the one you suggested?
Pls where do I get it to buy and at what cost.
Also waiting for the details of your mechanic so I can visit anytime I come to Lag. Tnx

cne010: Are you in Lagos? You have the Mercedes Dot 3 fluid I think that's what it's called. I don't know where the SRS/ABO I couldn't open the PDF file. If you're in Lagos I would hook you up with my mechanic he is a Benz specialist.

I guess this is also MB approved and is also suitable for all MBs including w163 abi??

What will happen if I decide to have it left the way it is(having the indicators on,which may mean that in case of accident,the airbags won't deploy).is there any other disadvantage??

I can actually couple back. Just need to be certain I am not going on a wild goose chase by dismantling the seat when the culprit is actually the one under the seat.
Some pple in that post made mention of an EMUATOR they use in by passing the child lock thing. I don't know if I can get it here in Naija.

Was even thinking of going to Owode to get a replacement of both a complete passenger seat and the ECU under the seat; but my fear is if they will work without having to re-programme the SUV or cause more damage(taking into consideration the warning on the displayed ECU)

Pls what type of transmission fluid is best for the said SUV?

I actually did read tru the comments and suggestions by various pple that contributed in that site you provided. What is really confusing me is the below cued from one of the solution providers in that site insisting that the culprit is actually beneath the CHUSION of the passenger seat as against BENEATH the seat where I saw the one I attached in my post.

Pls do note that even in the current corroded/defective state,the passenger seat still performs the usual forward,backward and tilting movement.

Do you think I need to REAP open the passenger seat as indicated in the below PDF below.

Can I actually get the unit to buy and replace without compounding current issue??

Here are the instructions for removal of everything. If you are replacing the sensor, move the seat to the upper most position and then remove.

You will also need conventional male (T) Torx sockets and female (E) Torx sockets. It is not that difficult to remove the cover. Once the trim and backrest are removed, put the frame with cushion back into the truck with the two front bolts to hold things in place to remove the cover. Talcum powder on the inside of the cover and the outside of the foam cushion will aid replacement.
