hi Everyone
i bought a 1991 600sel V12 from Germany last year December. it drove pretty well when i brought it from Lagos. Though hardly driven,i noticed that anytime i drive it within a short distance of 1Km free high way or leave it steaming idle for 20mins or thereabout and i open the water reseviour,the out pour is like a burst pipe spilling out HOT water. the temperature guage is at 80.the mech says its termostart (the termostart is 87 degree).

another thing i noticed,is that throttle pedder,will some be hard when depressed and the car will be moving like its dragging or ladden with a heavy load and on rear occasion,when the pedder goes light,the car actually moves like a V12. Also,i always smell fuel from the tail pipe when the car is idle steaming and on movement,its fuel consumption is high. it took me 50ltrs of fuel from Ore to Asaba with my A/c on but now,i really doubt if 50ltrs will get me to Ore.can anyone help out with possible solutions

To be completely honest, If you are able to buy a 2014 Model year vehicle, maintenance should NOT be your problem. As i would assume someone who has 6-7m to spend on a car has loads more in his bank account.

If this is not the case, You would be better off with a 2008 model. At least that way, you will have money left over for when things break.

Just my tuppence, YMMV

didnt say i wasnt capable of maintenance. but just because i can afford to spend that much,doesn't mean i shouldn't find out more about an item(vehicle in this case) to be purchased. abi you want make i spend all my money dey repair wetin i for fit avoid

Hello MERC gurus on the house, am trying to find where the issue of the C300 2008-2014 was discussed in terms of its Pros and Cons. But couldn't.
