Sorry for your ordeal brother. What i suspect is happening to your ride is either the Injector Nozzles or Fuel pump but i know it's fuel related issue. Any error message on your instrument cluster?
I had ESP, BAS lights on since May, I tried to scan the car to detect the actual fault, but my car refused to connect this time.

Seconded,

Had this "dropping rpm" and "tutututu" sound like you said, sometime ago on a w202 c180.

Faulty fuel pump turned out to be the culprit. Had it replaced with a new one and that was it.

But as for yours, i'll advice you instruct your mechanic to clean the injector nozzle and see how it drives afterwards. And if symptoms persist, have him check the fuel-pump.

I once experienced that when i was driving a Land Rover. Brother that thing can be very frustrating and even Okada will be overtaking me on the high way and abusing me seriously cheesy grin. The problem with mine was that the fuel tank was a mess(dirts) and it affected the nozzles. So the mechanic dropped the tank, washed it thoroughly, serviced the injector nozzles and the problem was over. That "tutututu" sound was as well experienced in mine so let him check those areas.

That has nothing to do with what you are experiencing now. ESP: Electronic stability program and BAS light isn't the culprit here so you should resolve this current problem first after which you tackle the rest.

Imagine Hajoue Suzuki sounding stvpid horn and flashing nonsense headlamps on the road, telling my V6 German wizard to clear off the road, 1 plug bike telling 6 plugs to leave the road, even advising me to tag learner on the beast etc. I'm not happy honestly.

I understand but you sef no even try. Why drive your ride to reserve tank? Also you had error message since May and you couldn't find time to resolve that? Your machine deserves better care from you.

NO MONEY NI...lol I was using my other car, then deliberately left the W203 with low fuel, but never entered reserved level, and that was my first time my fuel got that low as I explained above, presently am with full thank in that car. But I will try your suggestion tomorrow.
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Nobody: 5:40pm On Aug 31, 2014
@pafestula I think you should check the fuel pump, fuel filter and also the MAF. If the check engine light is on I will advise you scan it first. A c3 would be better.

Pls,can anyone in the house tell me what the attached does?? It's found under the pessenger front seat of my 2005 ML350 special edition(I believe it's also in most w163).
I have the SRS and AIr bag off lights on;even when vehicle is on motion.the scan man says the "child lock/protector" found beneath the seat is bad thus the lights.
Pls do note that the vehicle had a blocked open roof as a result, water was always finding its way into the SUV which I guess resulted in the corroded element in the attach file.
Pls what is/are my available solution(s)
Grateful for any solution

That look like an ECU if you found it under your front passenger's seat, then it could be ECU controlling the Seat positions, seat occupancy sensor module, cooling/heating, or Airbag

@Lomomike
Tnx alot for your response.

I actually did read tru the comments and suggestions by various pple that contributed in that site you provided. What is really confusing me is the below cued from one of the solution providers in that site insisting that the culprit is actually beneath the CHUSION of the passenger seat as against BENEATH the seat where I saw the one I attached in my post.

Pls do note that even in the current corroded/defective state, the passenger seat still performs the usual forward, backward and tilting movement.

Do you think I need to REAP open the passenger seat as indicated in the below PDF below.

Can I actually get the unit to buy and replace without compounding current issue??
Pls Advice and so grateful for the time

Here are the instructions for removal of everything. If you are replacing the sensor, move the seat to the upper most position and then remove.

You will also need conventional male (T) Torx sockets and female (E) Torx sockets. It is not that difficult to remove the cover. Once the trim and backrest are removed, put the frame with cushion back into the truck with the two front bolts to hold things in place to remove the cover. Talcum powder on the inside of the cover and the outside of the foam cushion will aid replacement.

I don't know, but if its necessary and if you can successfully fix it back as it should be, I see no harm trying.

Tnx again

I can actually couple back. Just need to be certain I am not going on a wild goose chase by dismantling the seat when the culprit is actually the one under the seat.
Some pple in that post made mention of an EMUATOR they use in by passing the child lock thing. I don't know if I can get it here in Naija.

Was even thinking of going to Owode to get a replacement of both a complete passenger seat and the ECU under the seat; but my fear is if they will work without having to re-programme the SUV or cause more damage(taking into consideration the warning on the displayed ECU)

Pls what type of transmission fluid is best for the said SUV?

@TSAT if your seat adjustment works well without that then it has to be your Tele aid or voice recorder module.

If going by your above comment, are you saying that the SRS light/ABO control is then actually beneath the seat cushion as indicated by the PDF file??

What will happen if I decide to have it left the way it is(having the indicators on,which may mean that in case of accident, the airbags won't deploy).is there any other disadvantage??

Pls what transmission fluid can I use for the said SUV. It's a 2005 ml350 special edition.

Tnx

Are you in Lagos? You have the Mercedes Dot 3 fluid I think that's what it's called. I don't know where the SRS/ABO I couldn't open the PDF file. If you're in Lagos I would hook you up with my mechanic he is a Benz specialist.

Am actually in Delta state, but come into Lagos once in awhile.can you avail me the details of your mechanic so I can stop over whenever I come to Lag pls.

Mechanic here use Mobil ATF 220 premium.
I guess this is also MB approved and is also suitable for all MBs including w163 abi??

Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Nobody: 12:14pm On Sep 01, 2014
@TSAT I go this from benzworld.org.

Well I have decided to use Mobile 1 full synthetic ATF in my ML. I have used the MB ATF from the dealer. I noticed a few things.

#1 the Mobile1 amd MB come in the same exact bottle.
#2 they smell exactly the same. It is a very distinctive smell, not like Dexron or Mercon ATF
#3 The Mobile 1 has Mercedes specs printed on the back of the bottle

Now I know there are going to be nay sayers but Mercedes does not manufacture their ATF they buy it and put their lable on it.
I did a fluid change last weekend and the transmission feels the same as before.
I will keep you all posted. My ML just went over 190000 miles yesterday and that is the first time the fluid has ever been changed...

I know Mercedes recommend using only their ATF it's a sales gimic...
Where I work we have hundreds of MB Sprinter vans with the same 5 speed automatics, and we use Penzoil ATF+4 and it works just fine. Some of the vans have over 200000 miles on them already...

For those of you wondering where I used the MB ATF it was in my C 230...

I think that is the wrong mobil ATF you have there. Get the Mobil 1 synthetic ATF.

N.B Some other members of the forum argued and recommended the Benz fluid.

Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by TSAT: 3:25pm On Sep 01, 2014
@Cne010
You are RIGHT as regards that ECU I removed from under the passenger seat. It's actually the Tele Aid voice recorder module.

As regards the transmission fluid,I had mine changed last Thursday when someone tampered with the cover of the transmission at the engine bay. Had other motorist drawing my attention to smoke from the back of the SUV.on checking, found out that the fluid was spilling on the exhaust thus the smoke and I had to change the whole thing (including the filter)rather than topping up.
The mechanic used the 7 bottles of the Mobil ATF I attached I my last post.
As it stands now,do I flush that out and replace with the one you suggested?
Pls where do I get it to buy and at what cost.
Also waiting for the details of your mechanic so I can visit anytime I come to Lag. Tnx

Happy New Month MB folks.
Still on the recommended Engine oil & Tramsmission Oil for Mercedes Benz. I was told I can use TOTAL 9000 Engine Oil bt kinda observed that it is a 5W-30. The viscosity of the recommended engine oil for Benz is 40.
Any1 wants to explain?
Secondly, which Transmission Oil brand that meets MB specification can one use?
Where can it be purchased without fear of buying a fake?
