1. Independent Marketers want to be paid N200bn for forex variations.

2. NOI says the variations are preposterous and need to be verified by CBN before any payments can be made.

3. Independent Marketers refused to pay truck drivers. They claim govt owes them. Them dey pay truck drivers in dollars?

4. Truck drivers allegedly go on strike and refuse to load fuel.

5. According to Ifeanyi Ubah chairman of capital oil, a text was sent to all independent marketers by the association NOT to load trucks until their claims were met.

In all this all i can see so many inconsistencies...a truck driver interviewed yesterday pointed to his truck and said, he has been waiting to load since last week...does that even sound like someone who is on strike?

I can only see a bunch of selfish people who are trying to bulldoze the outgoing administration to pay unverifiable invoices...

They are also targeting the incoming government and giving them a sample of what they will do if they don't have their way...

It's a pure mafia 101 move...to win big, negotiate with your enemy when they are completely disadvantaged.

If the strike continue into Buhari's tenure things will be so bad that they will figure he will be forced to pay them instantly as the country would have been grounded to a complete halt.

It would be business as usual...just they way they like it.
let them try,,,and we will go back to military rule...bet my words...when there is no money, there is nomoney,we can not blame apc for it then.... angry angry angry

That's the problem with y'all. Our govt, our govt, our leaders, our leaders! where did they spring out from and who put them there? Are they not a reflection of us? our bad choices? Am not against us critiquing our leaders, but are we, corrupt nigerians and wicked foreigners qualified to do so? shouldn't we judge ourselves first?

Our problem is more than leadership, most Nigerians are cynical and would not fail to bankrupt the nation if opportune to rule. The same thing applies to all corrupt nations of this world: black, white, yellow.

What is irritating is some people limiting this mess we are in to a skin problem and then turning around to say we must grow as a people. Ironic and very weird.

Instead of Aregbe to focus on how to bring about meaningful development to his state, increase IGR, he is busy blaming GEJ and PDP for decrease in State allocation as if he is blind to the fall in price of crude oil. The simple question is " if he can't afford to pay salaries, how does he intend to develop the state?
State governor who can't pay salaries should cease to collect federal allocation and the federal government should pay all the staff from such state allocation before remmitting the left over to such state.
how can Aregbe pay, when he never got the money from the FG...from is own pocket...??

Just yesterday most south easterners were boasting that we would not experience scarcity. Many Noelle names were mentioned. Others bragged that we have hundreds of illegal refineries therefore scarcity would never hit us. Many said we were all so hard working and industries and had the brain to change water into fuel.

Fast forward to this morning. Awka capital of Anambra. I bought fuel two days ago at 140 per litre. Also two days ago half the filling stations in awka had fuel do I can understand why many of us developed that false sense of security. This morning I went out to buy real...

All those stations were closed down. There was just no fuel. It took me a thirty minutes drive round the city to find fuel. I finally found it close to the anambra/Enugu border. The queue was massive.

And the cost? 170 per. Relatively cheaper you'd say... Across the road another station was selling but at 200 per. I got a frantic call from a friend who told me he bought for 250 in some village off Awka. He had to travel all the way to that village to get fuel.

I asked a friend in asaba. He said they now buy for 240 but it's so damn hard to get.

Scarcity is hitting all of us. We in the South East should not brag about immunity. We are all doomed.
welcome to reality.. grin grin grin undecided undecided undecided undecided

Better stop asking for division, or Jihad, or whatever.(you and your Hausa pals...who let's face it are very much alike)..and ask your LGA chairman ,state governor, and even that Fulani gent heading to Aso Rock to lead us well. But why wearing Hausa cap and Yoruba 'agbada'? This dressing does not represent Nigeria. We all voted for him so he should wear something that represents the whole country.

Equal representation is what we want, no marginalization please! They should have added a feather to the cap to represent the SE and hold a stick to represent the SS

Politics › Re: Buhari: Why My Meetings With Jonathan Last Less Than 15 Minutes by tsdarkside(m): 6:06am On May 25, 2015
Alishachris:
President-elect Muhammadu Buhari in an interview with Daily Trust at his hometown in Daura revealed that his meetings with President Goodluck Jonathan last less than fifteen minutes.

He blames this on the refusal of the president's ministers to handover details of the situations in their ministries.

Why is it that your own meetings with President Jonathan are too short? You spent like 30 minutes.

It’s not up to 30 minutes. It’s not more than 15 minutes, except that with General Abdulsalami.

But you have so many problems to discuss…?

But I have to know what to discuss. If I’m denied the opportunity to know the problem, what do I discuss? If the ministries presented their handover notes or whatever, it is to the interim committee; the committee will be able to quickly go through it and produce a summary, which I would have been able to read.

I could have spent time with the president. But when I don’t know what is happening, what do I discuss?
