I don't know why you're bring ipob when I'm not igbo. Use your brains you don't expect all yoribas to support APC just as some igbos support APC.
Is IPOB not part of insecurity bedeviling this country, because it's coming from your side you are beaming your Torchlight towards NE and to the VP when you know that IPOB is part of the insecurities that recked havoc to the economy of SE and to a larger extent that of Nigeria.

APC was the reason the whole insecurity crisis worsened. Ask shettima why he disregarded the circular warning that student should not write waec in the villages because it isn't safe. Which led to chibok kidnapping.
It was Shettima fault that IPOB killed security officers in the East and Fulani displaced people in Enugu, continue
Politics › Re: Why Igbos Need To Embrace The Free Trade Zone Idea by Ttalk: 4:51pm On May 31, 2025
Ofodirinwa:
Free trade zones are a scam western multinationals sold dumber, poorer countries. They want to make their money without taxes so that nobody benefits from their presence except the multinational. Then, the leader (usually corrupt) will tell the people they should be grateful the company is there. So you have a free trade zone where a multinational makes 1billion USD a year. No tax, but they will say '700 jobs were created' '2000 jobs were created'. The more jobs the more they underpay, the less jobs the more they higher their own foreign people.
Is Dangote a multinational? The way some people reason eh

This is an example of one of the gullible guys putting Fiat, Fiscal and Monetary Policy on the same side in a sentence. A supporter of junk importation as an indication of free market. There is no devaluation he does not like.

Now he is using junk currency that fall and rise on the call of some felonious promoter as sound economic hypotheses.
Just ask him to convert his naira to Cedi since he believes Ghana currency is in upward trend

Growing economy is beyond container economic reasons and government policy covers so many areas beyond profit making.

Israel developed her agricultural sector not because it has comparative advantage but because it is a security leverage to develop mechannised agriculture in a face of limited land and hostile neighbors.

Many of those items you listed above can well be developed and turned into profitable venture.

Malaysia doesn't have a better comparative advantage in Palm oil production until they develop that crop out seed they got in Nigeria.

Nigeria leaders are bad but it would be worse with the kind of mindset you and your people have.

Years of importation have killed the innovative and entrepreneur talent of Nigeria people, your traders mindset is not same mind you use to build thriving industries, you are used to instant gratification but building industry and a nation requires delay gratification
Politics › Re: Importation Is Not Killing Our Economy Lack Of Export Is by Ttalk:
You just want to justify container economy you practice in your region.

Your Obi supermarket depends on importation of junks into the country and you want naira to appreciate.

Are you expecting a fiat pronouncement that will make naira appreciate overnight?

Let your charity begin at home and first tell your Obi to embark on building a business that will produce products that Nigeria can buy and export, stop blaming the president for the problem caused majorly by your brothers

Edited: I am sure calling out the hypocrisy of the OP and his Obidients brothers really touched your nerves hence your going gaga on my mention.

Just like I said your container economy is what has destroyed this nation and it is high time Nigeria consciousness is raised to address the monster caused majorly by a section of the country.

The government didn't placed a blanket ban on importation as the OP trying to portrayed and placing tariff on certain commodity is necessary to protect local industry and create employment.

How will tariff placement on alcohol, cigarette, fabrics and some basic grains that can be produced locally reduced the standard of living according to the OP.

His general contents comes from the position of unpatriotic stance and a traders mindset where individuals business of importation hurts the overall economy of Nigeria.

Today, the proponent of importation is good are the people dumping substandard products especially pharmaceutical items and drugs that are killing Nigeria in the name of importation into the country, empowering foreign industries while destroying the local ones and creating high unemployment and weak currency.

Hypocrites

Neither you not the people in power know how to increase the value of naira

There is a chronic shortage of people with macro economics knowledge in Nigeria

From masses to the leaders
It is the aggregate effort of every individual, institutions and government that can increase the value of Naira, and not a fiat pronouncement from the government

Some region specialized in money tripping while another specialize in importation of junks and these are the same people crying that the value of Naira is too low compared to dollar, this is the height of hypocrisy.

That's why they first need to catch up. If we restructure Nigeria now, it would be like double punishment for the reasonable number of the Northerners.

The money some of their leaders have been embezzling, they never benefited from it, still want to restructure Nigeria when the development in North is just so low. Borno state as an example is big but empty. Imagine how many big companies can fit in with that vast land
This your argument no follow at all.

The rest of Nigeria should remain stagnated because some people have chosen to remain primitive and redundant.

That is exactly my point Nigerians are lazy. Microsoft was started by Bill gates and his friend Paul Allen. They didn't ask the government for anything and today Microsoft, Apple, Facebook and Google are one of the major anchors of the American economy. Private companies and they're one of the reasons the dollar has value. A dollar should equal #3,000 naira this #1,600 is still even better until Nigerians start to think.
Don't mind them, Nigeria is a capitalist state and not a social or welfarism state, for the fact that there are problems to be solve is enough reason to spur Nigerians into action. But everyone is waiting for naira to equal dollar and you asked them what business did they built when a dollar was 22naira

Many of you criticising floating of currency are same people that brought us to this state.

Yes, the lust of an average Nigeria is to consume and squandered. Importing all sort of rubbish into the country based on oil production that is less that 2mb/day for over 200m Nigerian is a bad economic policy.

Nigeria have been living on a borrowed life for many years and it takes a man of courage to correct the mess.

What you failed to know is that Nigeria no longer have the resources to defend the naira neither does it have money to pay for subsidy.

Presently, the burden of the previous subsidy and naira defending has placed a huge debt on the country.

Remember the last two years of Jonathan already witnessed money crunch where there's no money to pay salaries and Buhari came only to start borrowing to cover the mess.

Now that we are so lucky to find someone who has put a stop to the self destruction, illiterate and myopic Nigerians are out calling for the head of the president when you should ask yourself what contribution have I made to add value to the Nigerian currency.

Fantastic.

For the fact that the Obidients family hates him is enough evidence to show he is on the right track.

Anyone they love is doing something bad and anyone they hate is doing good.

First time in the history of Nigeria to give students loan

Since 1999, first time the LG will enjoy financia autooy

Tinubu grew our foreign reserves up to 23m dollar within space of 2 years

He increased our oil production up .500m from 1md/b

Bold economic reform in fuel subsidy removal and fx floating

Increased investment in oil and gas sector.

Initiate major reform in our tax system

Formed a government of national unity with appointment ooof Wike (PpD) and Bianca (APGA)

Tinubu conceived and birthed Free Trade Zone In Lagos today the place is filled with industries with Dangote Fertilizer and Dangote. Refinery as Nigeria industry yet you and your people abuse same man but Peter Obi you praised as the best governor didn't remember to establish one.

Now you claim it is marginalisation rather than admit your leaders have been sleeping
