From mining to agriculture to textiles to consumer goods, the North has the potential to produce numerous billion dollar corporations. Well, tinubu can't end sharia law.

The way sharia law works as per our constitution, it is the states that can determine whether sharia is implemented or not in their area, not elsewhere.. it is not the decision of the federal government or of the president of Nigeria passing a decree to end sharia and it goes by magic.

Even if tinubu wanted it to go, it would require a constitutional amendment which is a very very long process ( that's why we don't have new states since 1999 because the said constitutional amendment process is too long as an example) and since it involves religion it would be a very messy affair. That could lead to massive anarchy. ( Which means splitting the country which is what the people speaking into trump's ears want)

This time trump is asking for something tinubu cannot do under our constitution. Even if he sent a law to the national assembly to pass a amendment removing sharia it may not even get past the reading stage. It may even be voted out because many senators would be thinking about the potential fall out.

Trump would be better off lobbying sharia governor's to reverse the thing. Which is a longshot but a safer alternative.

Though sharia is a good example of how we practice true federalism. States that want it get it, those that don't want it don't, and that includes states like Kwara which so far has refused to get it.
