- Nigeria's tax system and fiscal policy needs review and the proposal brought forward by Tinubu's team looks good: His proposal aims to increase government revenue, create a more efficient, equitable and investor-friendly enomy. This will stimulate healthy competition between states.
- exchange rate unification is a good one- it is supposed to eliminate multiple exchange rates, reduces currency speculation, prices are more stable and investors(both foreign and local) have more trust in the economy. You also get more honest pricing for goods and services.
- fuel subsidy removal: Ideally this should free up public funds that was hijacked by elite fuel profiteers. The funds should go things like education for common man, infrastructure, healthcare for all etc
- decentralization of electricity generation: this should allow states generate(possibly distribute too), leading to more stable power which will inturn stimulate economic growth.

However, what I said initially was, Good reforms but the actors are interested in politics, not governance.

Dont get me wrong, Tinubu has failed, I never wanted him in power in 2023, and I still will not want him in power in 2027. But those policies are good policies. The problem is what the initial poster you responded to talked about- he thrives in politics but knows nothing about governance nepotism and high-level corruption are by-products of politics-above-governance system. The man is too focused on political-survival culture

Overall, is the Tinubus government the worst in Nigeria's history? Well anyone that holds that view has a point. In my opinion his government is down there with IBB and Abacha's government

I noticed the bad effects of the neglect of effective parenting when I used to attend tutorials in Physics Dept, the Polytechnic Ibadan in the early 1999 when parents of these dull but arrogant and toutish students of ISI where being herded for by-force tutorials by their parents.

My school meet ISI in a science quiz challenge called "Irawo Science Challenge" that use to hold somewhere around Agbowo area of UI.

Sorry to say, those guys were very popous acting as spoilt brats with no social decorum.
Even to greet other participating schools was a difficult thing for them and their chaperones.

To cut a long story short, every school was just praying to be the ones to eliminate ISI. Well, Air force Comprehensive Secondary School, Monathon Iwo Road did in the finals. Then they were really humbled.

True ISI kids had inflated ego. They had few real brilliant ones with a lot of financially-privileged academic wannabes

You will only be talking about how much perseverance Lookman has to have endured for this long. If they like they should be unforgiving, every player asks to leave, it is not unprofessional. They are human beings under contract. Not slaves. If his request is rejected, what he will do next is when you can begin to talk about his professionalism.

Loool. That is not how defense of nations are being run or defense of anything for that matter. You employ them to defend country today, then when there's no war you tell them to go and generate revenue.
Ideally, When the army is not at the war front, they are still at war. Security is better delivered when you're proactive and preparing for attacks. Building sleeper cells when u r not at war. It is not their job to create wealth or generate revenue, it is their job to defend the country against enemies. It's not all institutions of state that should generate income.

We have money to renovate aso villa, renovate ICC, build quarters for judges, build houses and give 100kusd each to super falcons(who deserve to be celebrated anyways) BUT we dont have money to provide shelter for the group of people that are protecting us from enemies attacks.
