“It must die, all praise be to the founder, Chuspecip.” — More like all praise be to the founder. Let us kill one of its lifeforms, its last brio, and the last of its line. We are doing nothing wrong, just following its commandments.
I am sure if they had succeeded, and Chuspecip came back. He would have found a way to—even if they had died—bring them back to life and kill them over and over again.

Now that I am reading it again from the beginning with hindsight, I can not only see the hand of Chuspecip in Nebud's life from the beginning, including the time it took that impʼs eye. I can also the genius of this great piece, how everything seem to align itself perfectly. It is genius. And wasn't it all a journey from the beginning to the end, the twist and turns. Leaving one to guess at the author's direction of the story.
