@tunjilomo, I use more than 3 laptops, more than 3 memory cards, and more than 3 harddisk.

See, have you ever lost your files to the point you shed blood or at least, your eyes turned red within 2 minutes? I have been there.

In 2016 or 2017, I was coming from the studio after recording a song and at one of the 2 storey building were 3 men on police vest. They stopped me and I though they were police.

They took my phone and my memory (with all my files) one of them (the smallest one of not more than 19 years) wanted to pull trigger, but changed his mind. They acted too fast like criminals.

They pointed the guns on my head and ordered the young man who carried me to carry them. I thought it was over.

At this point of the operation, the entire street was scanty.

When they left, I stood on that empty road speechless. People started coming out and it was then they said those guys were kidnappers who came for the owner of house by the road.

When I told someone of the information in that memory card and how important they were to me, they laughed and said, "So, you're thinking of memory card? You better go to Church and thank God for your life first."

A lot of crazy things happened, but the summary is: if only I had lots of backups. What about when my computer and phone crashed and I lost everything. Or the one a certain virus ate all my files?

My dear, have as many backups or laptops as you can. If you can't afford multiple laptops, one is enough, but have lots of backups.

Nope, bro. I want to know what you do for best safety practice.

I was thinking it might be mighty paranoid to do something like that. Separate laptops I mean.

But there was one guy on a group like that saying he did so, I am having a rethink, maybe he might not be so paranoid.

These things are intellectual property after all. It might be hard to defend claim if they are stolen.

So is it overly paranoid or with a good anti-virus, one could consider themself safe?

ILegendd, do you use the same laptop you use in writing your books to browse the internet?

Life is easy, only if you find yourself in a situation and position to have time for yourself. Not when you have to struggle everyday to take care of dependents.
